I think ISP is a good concept, the only issue I have with it is the fact that students spend so much money on AFF that coached jumps until they get an A license could be hard to handle, financially. I suppose anyone who wants it bad enough would come up with the money, I know if it was required I would have and maybe this is a good way to find out who really wants to be a skydiver, but damn...jump tickets plus 20 or so dollars plus a coaches jump ticket kind of adds up. I figure you'd probably have to add in equipment rental too, or is that generally included? Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

How many people jump at DZs that have coaches for new jumpers who have finished AFF but haven't earned an A license yet? I'm taking the coach certification course at the moment as a stepping stone for the one at Skydive University and the instructor happens to be a DZ owner out here for the winter. He's been describing the programs they use at his DZ and they seem like a really fantastic idea but they are also really foreign to me-here after you finish AFF you're kind of left to fend for yourself, to include having to deal with manifestors who don't want you on their aircraft. I'm wondering how many mainland DZs use similar instructional methods. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

1:1:3 One jump. One reserve ride (at least I got two freefalls worked into that jump) One case for the reserve ride, one for the lost handle and one for the rigger who declined the traditional bottle. I think everyone drank it while he was working on my repack though si its going to end up being 4 cases. Make that 5 cause someone complained about the Heinies and I went and got him some Corona to shut him up which didn't work cause then he wanted lime. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Nope, not going to whine about being broken up, wanting to be broken up, infidelity, domestic abuse, or PMS. I'm sitting here with my little orange guy on my lap and he's purring super loud and looking up at me with this absolute look of complete and utter acceptance and adoration. And he doesn't give a crap if my thighs are heavy or my boobs are fake or if I don't play well with others, he just wants to be held and have his belly rubbed. THIS is love for mujie. Alas, no gear store in Hawaii. And I leave Thursday, I'm going to pay out the rear end for shipping that fast. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

We broke off from the FF jump at 5000 (we only held HD to maybe 7 or 8000 then went into a sit) and I went to my belly and tracked a few secs, then watched the ground get bigger until 4000, had a fantastic spot and was eager to land this canopy (its so much fun) so I waved at 3500 and pulled. I would say that 5000 is a conservative breakoff point for a two way, and allows plenty of time for separation, wave off, and pulling. I maybe should have tried harder to stabilize the canpy, if this ever happens again I'll know. Thanks for the advice and support. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Are the ones that Sunrise makes all the small ones (like the one I dropped in the ocean)? Also does anyone have a handle preference for freeflying, since I have to buy one tomorrow anyway? Thanks. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Honestly, I don't think I would have done anything differently if I had 500 or 1000 more jumps...but not having those jumps I can't say. I'd like to say that with more experience I might have been able to correct the spin and unstow the brake but yesterday it only took me a second or two to realize that I didn't have time to think and I just acted. For reference, my exit weight is about 145 so I'm loading at 1.2. I disconnected my RSL at about 70 jumps-I think they're a good idea for really new jumpers and students where any kind of pull is better than none at all but I wanted to have the option to take a second to get stable again in case of a malfunction. Point taken. I'll start doing it that way. Thanks. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

It changes depending on which packer is standing nearby and wants me to to do it his way. Normally, I tuck it near the top of the slink, into that little area right over it. Yesterday I stowed them on the field without stowing the excess, meant to do it when I packed, got irritated at the almost brand new ZP and decided to pay to have the pack job finished (now that I realize it, that sweet opening wasn't all mine), so the excess was tucked along the side of the riser in the container. Suggestions? Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

I haven't been asleep since Friday night.Saturday morning. Its been a hell of a last weekend in Hawaii and I think for safety's sake I will keep myself out of the air today. To everyone who dreamed about my tattoo, awwwww that's so sweet. I had a dream about Sunshine a few days ago but that's for me to keep as a pleasant memory. Yesterday on my first jump of the day I had a fantastic headdown jump with a friend. I waved off at 3500 and pulled by 3000. As I complimented myself for the lovely, on-head opening I had packed I reached up, used the rear risers to inflate my end cells and looked at the view for a second. I was under a beautiful, perfect canopy. I reached up with both hands to release my brakes simultaneously and things got hairy. My left brake came unstowed as normal but my right side wouldn't budge and I immediately went into a violent spin, swung all the way out form under the canopy in a fast, rapidly descending spiral. I tried to yank down on the toggle I had to stop the spin, which didn't work. I tried to dislodge that toggle probably 3 times before I checked my alti (as I had done as soon as the canopy was open) and realized that at the rate I was losing altitude, with my experience level and with the centrigufal forces yanking one everything, I needed to do something really fast....so I made a face, arched, pulled red-which took one hand to pull and one hand to finish pulling (I either have short arms or long cables and they needed a little help), swore to myself I wouldn't drop the pretty silver handle, took one second to get myself back on my belly (I kind of got flung a decent way from the main when I cut it away), and BAM-there was this beautiful, BIG white canopy over my head at 1300-1500 ft...and I dropped the handle on opening. I had time to set up a pattern, had a soft landing and a great spot, my freeebag landed on the landing area at the DZ, the main on the grass by the packing area and I still had the cutaway handle. As soon as I had thre presence of mind, I went to grab the canopy from the packer that picked it up for me, but it had already been looked at. If the toggle was still stowed, and I think it was, someone had yanked it out already-and I think that's the case (I was a little dazed). A friend who watched me from the ground said it looked line a line over, but having looked at the canopy after opening I believe I made an error stowing that brake and simply couldn't dislodge it due to the centrifugal forces of the spin, and the shock of the fastest spinning malfunction (really the only one except for some mega lines twists that I managed to kick out of on a way larger canopy) I've had. Could I have fixed it? If I'd had a cutaway before and another couple hundred jumps, maybe. Was I willing to screw around with it when I wasn't sure and risk riding a spiraling canopy into the ground? Absolutely not. Looking at the altitude I got under the reserve at, I'm happy with my decision. I learned to be doubly anal about the way I set my brakes and stow my excess. I also learned that should this happen again, I need to wait a little longer until my adrenalin returns to a more human level to look at the canopy-because I stood over that canopy after it was picked up, moved, and moved again but I don't remember what I saw the first time I checked the toggles out. So beer $70, reserve repack $45, new handle with fast shipping about $30, walking to my car alive and unmaimed to go to the liquor store.....priceless. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

How long until you can jump again? Does your dr work with a lot of skydivers? Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Its so cute. Why was the Cobalt 25 hooked up at only one point while this one is hooked up at two? And is there video anywhere of either of these canopy rides? Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

I have cordura on my Wings and I'm not sure what possessed me to pick it. I've had pulls where its taken me more than the by-the-book two yanks (I pull high here so I don't land in the ocean on bad spots) to get it out, and now I check it with a little test pull as part of my gear check. I think Spandax is an easier pull and not hard to maintain-the cordura really doesn't offer much more security either, I've had my PC kicked out during a train exit gone awry and found myself under a fully open canopy way too soon. I can live with it but if I had it to do over it would be spandax. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

I don't think there is one. Not for me anyway. Not complaining, I'm happy alone but I really can't imagine the kind of love people here seem to have. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

If I happen to not be getting any at this point in my life and I find the banging of the neighbor's bed kinda erotic? I mean, if they didn't want the wohole world to know what was going on they would have moved the headboard the requisite 3 inches from the wall, right? Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

I, by the decree of pds, will be there. Since he came up with this fantastic idea, I am trying to organizr aq 40 way nipple pass for him to top the 6 way at Eloy... Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Uh, there is a very well known bar in Elsinore that can accommodate you.... Which one? Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH Me. I'm going. Absolutely. Gotta find a good kennel for kitties though, especially if I can work something out at one of the nearby bars and do some working beforehand. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

You know, when I see a description that long I assume somebody has something to hide and don't bid. Is he writing a BOOK? If anyone wants me to paypal some $$ (not a lot) to start a fund to get these damn things off the market I might be convinced. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming.... -
I thought I had too much time on my hands...if you guys are so bored you are all welcome to fly out here this week to help me pack and party rather than voting off assorted DZ.commers Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Hee=hee, smacky booty, I like that-now what the heck is a cut in lateral? Another shameless plug for Wings....I emailed about hard casings for my cutaway cables and I think they were on the way before I pushed the send button. Heather is truly awesome. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

If this guy seriously thinks the 120 was slow, then he's got some perception problems. I don't find a 120 particularly slow and I have almost 100 more jumps and carry 80 fewer pounds. Probably a troll. One of the DJs I work with claims he was using a 150 for his only 12 solo jumps and he's got to be pushing 225+ with gear. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....
