When you file for an uncles farm Notam you can ask for a (and I think it's called a pointer) Notam be tagged to nearby airports and nav aids. It's better than nothing. As far as I know there is no regulatory requirement to file a Notam for a parachute operation. While it is a good practice the only time I have been required to file a Notam is when it is stipulated in a certificate of authorization for a demo. Letters of agreement with the FAA for drop zones also require a Notam in the system. Could you provide a reference for a requirement for a Notam I'm not aware of? First is your container and dbag sized for a 190? What lines and what stows are you using? I have been packing grommet to pin for 10 years without issues. If you suspect its the canopy send it to PD. They will check it out and test jump it for you. Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

For all of the moon experts in this thread. http://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/index.php http://aa.usno.navy.mil/rstt/onedaytable?ID=AA&year=2015&month=9&day=23&state=PA&place=Quakertown The above links show the moon data and terminology for the last night jumps I participated in. The moon was so bright it cast shadows on the ground. There was no need for any artificial(car) lights at all. With the proper planning, training and light discipline night jumps can be just as safe as day jumps. Most aircraft including Cessna's use galvanized carbon steel for control cables not stainless. Mechanic's Toolbox Software a listing of cable specifications, and just about everything you ever wanted to know about aircraft control cable. Galvanized steel is slightly stronger. Galvanized steel has less wear. Galvanized steel is easier to inspect for corrosion damage. Galvanized steel has a short life due to corrosion in high-salt areas. Stainless steel is more corrosion resistant. Stainless steel cannot be inspected for corrosion damage. Stainless steel has considerably less service life in bending applications due to high wear. Stainless steel is hard to inspect for wear (wears internally). Stainless steel cable wears faster and has resulted in aircraft control problems: "This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) alerts you, an owner or operator of certain Piper models listed below, about possible corrosion, fraying and/or failure, and subsequent loss of control authority that may occur due to a considerably shorter life of the stainless steel cables compared to galvanized cables." http://www.askbob.aero/content/aircraft-control-cable-comparison-wear-behavior-stainless-and-galvanized-carbon-steel Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

Add in this liner upgrade for the protec and I think you would have the least expensive and most protective skydiving appropriate helmet available. http://www.oregonaero.com/otherhelmetandheadgearupgrades/helmet&headgearupgrades Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.

Which first skydiving suit?
DBCOOPER replied to CountZero23's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Once you figure out what discipline suit you want to get, next you need to figure out what material and speed of the suit you need. When I was where you are now as far as jump experience goes, I bought a BEV competition suit that made me fall way to fast for anything other than jumping four way with like weights and jumpsuits. Just a good idea to get some experience on your last chance before you really need it, especially at your wing loading and experience level. PD will send you one to try at a minimal cost.
