So, I'm back here to say thanks and figured my last thread was such a point of contention with some of you I should rename my new thread to reflect what I've learned after all the lashings I took. Plus, I'm sure Quade will appreciate me being more accurate this time.
For those of you that care, which turned out to be a surprisingly large number, I want to say thank you for supporting me with my last request in my previous thread. Found here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4246584;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
I also wanted to update you and let you know that our story was selected from hundreds of entries as one of three finalists. Our vote tally fell short and left us in 5th place but the judges selected us as a finalist ahead of others. Ours was the only skydiving story that was selected as a finalist.
So, and I know there are those of you that are exhausted of this, I would love the support of the community again. Voting has been reset for the final round and we need your help again.
The process is just as simple as last time, one click and that's it. Takes about 4 seconds.

Again, most importantly, I want to thank those of you that were kind enough to help us. We greatly appreciate your support.
Cheers!

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you that suppoeted us. I'd also like to apologize for the inconvenience. I had no idea you guys were always seeing requests like this. It was naive of me to think I'd be the only one with the idea to post here for help.
With only a day left in voting it appears we will fall short of our goal of 1,000 votes but I wanted you all to know we both greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks everyone, even those of you that declined to help or chimed in with your opinion, I sincerely appreciate you tolerating our "unique" request....
I know better than to use that one in the future.
Thanks again everyone. -
Ha! She's cool, but not THAT cool.
Thanks for the vote! -
QuoteIt may not be that unique to skydivers but for most other people it's pretty amazing. And the way you did it was really cute. I think it's awesome! I put it on my FB status. I hope you win!
You should go skydiving for your anniversary every year now.
Hell yeah, thanks for the FB love! That's awesome and totally appreciated.
I keep throwing that idea around to jump every year, she still hasn't recovered from the first jump, haha. Maybe I'll just have to "win" another skydiving package... -
QuoteI hate to burst your bubble Romeo, but there isn't much "unique" about it.
Lots of folks, both regular skydivers and non have done the proposal thing. Although having the family hold up the letters was pretty cool.
And there's usually two or three requests for an online vote each week.
And yes, since I decided to bust your balls about this, I did vote for you.
Haha, well thanks for the insight, and for the vote. Both are appreciated.
Cheers! -
Thanks for the assist! It was pretty easy right? Takes about 4 seconds.
The guys that run the center there are all badass. It's awesome that they get to do what they love.
Again, thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated. -
Hello all, I'm excited to join the community.
I recently completed my first jump, tandem, and greatly enjoyed it. It's easy to see what you guys are hooked on.
I have a unique request that I was hoping the community could help me with, it literally takes 10 seconds and requires no info from you at all.
I proposed to my girlfriend while skydiving and she loved it so much that she entered us into a "Best Proposal" contest. We had a solid hold on 3rd place in the initial round of voting but have since slipped to 5th. With only 4 days left in this round we need to be in the top 3 to advance to the finals. We are entered in the "Adventurous" category and I believe we have the most badass story in the competition.
Here's the link to our story and picture. We were limited to 150 words.

All that I'm hoping you guys can do is click on the link and then click on the "Heart" next to our tally. If you want to go above and beyond that and share the link with your friends, family, and coworkers or share on Facebook that of course would be amazing but I could never ask anyone to do that.
Thanks in advance everyone, Happy New Year!
Sorta new member, completely un-original, un-unique request...

We really appreciate you guys that have taken the 4-12 seconds to vote(depending on your computer it seems)...
I hope 2012 is treating you all well.
Cheers!
