The final "stop" of the 2012 competition Tour before the World Championships will be the Online Competition, on November 5th, to be held simultaneously at wind tunnels worldwide. All flights will be recorded on video and judged by the same pool of judges. Spectators will be able to view the competition videos on the IBA Facebook and YouTube pages. The Open Class Categories 4-way Formation Skydiving (FS) 4-way Vertical Formation Skydiving (VFS) 2-way Freefly (FF) 2-way Vertical Formation Skydiving (2-way VFS) Neo-Freestyle (a solo performance combining Freefly and Freestyle) The Grand Prizes 1st place winners of each class receive free airfare to Singapore to join the Indoor Skydiving World Championships at iFLY Singapore in December. Who Can Compete? This is an open tournament. Anybody ready to compete in the open category is welcome to join. How to Register Competitors will be able to register once registration is open late summer. Pre-registration is mandatory and the best way to stay up to date is to "fan" the IBA Facebook page and check this website regularly. The Dive Pool and Scoring Formation Skydiving: To create a level playing field for all FS competitors who compete in different sized tunnels, we will use the dive pool for 12-foot tunnels that can be found in the IBA FS rules. Tunnels with a top camera (high in the diffuser) will use that for recording the flights. If your tunnel is not equipped with a top camera, we will install a camera on the highest point of the tunnel glass. Vertical Formation Skydiving: Since the complete VFS dive-pool can be flown in a 12-foot tunnel, we will use all blocks and randoms in the IBA VFS rules. All tunnels will use a bottom camera mounted in between the turning vanes in the plenum. 2-Way VFS: It is important to present the points to the view of the tunnel camera. For judging purposes, we will use the camera that films straight on from the control room. If points are not visible to the camera, the judges will not be able to credit them. Freefly and Neo-Freestyle: It is important to fly a routine that is always in the view of the tunnel camera. For judging purposes, we will use the camera that films straight on from the control room. If parts of the routine are not in frame it can only be partially judged and the scores will obviously be lower.

If you are looking to have some fun in the tunnel, competing and training for a competition is it! Here some helpful tips for flyers that are new to competing. If you are looking for a team-mate of similar skill level, add your name here to find one. SF Bay: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiJMfRRLYGHXdFFZc2JZSjE2QWxPSTNHYUVMb2pqZFE#gid=0 Seattle: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiJMfRRLYGHXdGp5aFhmUWlKdnliaGZEMkdOc3dhTlE#gid=0 Nothing accelerates learning faster than training for a competition regardless of skill level. If you don’t have a team-mate either find one following the links above or just compete in Neo-Freestyle. The IBA rules are very close to the official “International Air Sports Federation” (FAI) rules, so our tunnel competitions are a great way to get experience for USPA Nationals or even international competitions. We have recently created a “How-to” video on putting together routines for Freefly and Neo-Freestyle and will create more for 2-way VFS to explain the dive-pools. Follow this link to get to the You Tube playlist with all IBA “How-to” videos: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFA9176BAACA9B59F&feature=view_all Have you heard that this year will be the first year of the official “Indoor Skydiving World-Championships”? Stay up to date with the latest news and developments by “liking” the IBA Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/International-Bodyflight-Association/271653796189080 See you at the competitions and let us know if we can help with your training!
