As if on cue. Right - you believed Trump was the one man with a solution but really he’s just crazy. When the rest of us all knew that in advance I’m not quite sure why you’re bragging about being so clueless.

Winsor’s defining political characteristic has always been that he’s a massive racist and sexist but doesn’t want to admit it. Everything else he says is just cover for voting for the guy who will bring back white make privilege.

At the 'hold your nose and vote' moment, about all the sleazy sonofabitch had going for him was negative - he's neither a lawyer nor a Democrat. Musk being on hand gave a glimmer of hope that, after a career of turning gold mines into septic tanks, he might show a hint of fiscal responsibility. Yeah, right. The fact that the toxicity of DEI is being addressed by his administration is a welcome surprise. The fact that more illegal aliens are self deporting than are apprehended by ICE is remarkable. The melting pot can do with less slag. At best Trump is one of what Lenin described as 'useful idiots.' I don't encourage Lenin's exact recommendation on how to deal with the revolutionary post revolution, but a hand-off to someone competent is preferred. According to Dave Barry, "When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that person is crazy." I'd say Trump is a case in point of Dave's observation.

Honestly yes I do think Trump is his hero. It’s like the politicians and preachers who are homophobic and yet turn out to be gay. When EVERYONE is more distasteful than Trump without any justification, it shows an affinity and bias. “Cognitive dissonance is the discomfort a person feels when their behaviour does not align with their values or beliefs. Cognitive dissonance is a psychological phenomenon that occurs when a person holds two contradictory beliefs at the same time.” I have no doubt there is some serious cognitive dissonance as he probably finds Trumps behaviour repugnant at some level. Ultimately people resolve cognitive dissonance by changing their beliefs or behaviour. Time will tell if he stops always comparing Trump favourably to all other pollies or goes full Elon.

Victor Davis Hanson has a pretty good track record, and his take is generally insightful. As I have stated, I think Trump is a truly awful human being but prefer the changes pointed out by VDH to anything proffered by the competition. Trump is enough older than Hitler was, so he won't be viable for much longer. I don't think he'll last into a 5th term. The changes we are seeing could only come from a seriously disruptive actor, and Captain Chaos is the best we could do. If the deficit could be addressed as Javier Milei seems to be doing in Argentina, I'd feel a little better. As it is, it looks like we're fucked. Maybe we could get to the onset of the next election and Trump could choke on a chicken bone. Unfortunately, further progress would require selecting someone competent for the next go around, and we seem to weed out the competent right out of the gate.

Massie: "Trump! SHOW US THE LIST!" Trump: "You don't need to see the list." Massie: "We don't need to see the list." Trump: "These are not the files you are looking for." Massie: "These are not the files we are looking for." Trump: "Continue pushing my distractions." Massie: "We'll continue with your distractions." Trump: "Move on to Hunter's laptop." Massie: "Move on! Move on!" Schumer: "What just happened?" Jeffries: "You'll find that Trump has a powerful influence on the weak minded."

As a by the by, things are better in the fam. Not great, but definitely better — seems like a progress better, not just a crisis averted better. We’ll see And thanks, folks Wendy P.

Growing up in Zimbabwe it’s something that so many people didn’t understand. Mugabe “won” elections using these tactics. His policies generally appealed to the poor and uneducated (I’ll take away farms and businesses and give them to you, despite you not having the capital or skills to run them), and police and military present at voting booths. We always had elections and many times UN observers declared them free and fair. Dictators don’t simply not hold elections, they rig the system in their favour and create fear and uncertainty around voting “the wrong way”.

It was a D-18 over Coolidge Arizona. We first started “hang loads” as we named it in 1976, made the headlines in 1977. Carl Boenish did the filming at Coolidge in 1977. Tony Gonzales took the famous photos that made the news paper’s and posters. That’s me on the wing, white suit blue rig with WSCR patch. I have been answering questions and Bull Shit statements about what happened for many years. So many people who were not there and only heard rumors think they know it all.
