5 pointsFor the sake of the Christmas season, and to celebrate the end of the DZ.com, I am going to be a little more lenient on PA's in terms of warnings. Instead I will edit any personal attack to a new attack of my choice.
-
4 pointsOK no worries. The original question was: "So is someone who is XY, and has breasts and a vagina, a woman or a man?" That person is genetically male - that is their genetic sex. They are phenotypically female - that is their anatomical sex. Their gender - whether they call themselves a man or a woman, what pronouns they use, how they present themselves etc - is what they decide it is.
-
4 pointsOr, for the sake of the Christmas season, and to celebrate the end of DZ.com, our fellow dz.commers could refrain from PA's to prevent you from having to do even more work. It's a thought. We could all walk away from here with fond memories of each other or a so glad that shit is over thought. Ya know, Primacy/Recency.

3 pointsMy concern about Hegseth's idea is that he says the "choose your own" healthcare provider, funded by the VA, for only service-related injuries/health problems. There is your hidden issue: what gets determined to be "service-related." A friend of mine has what his VA doctor described as "paratrooper knees" after many years jumping round canopies while carrying radio equipment (active duty). However, he has never been able to get his broken-down knees categorized as "service-related" for his disability claim. The doc claims they can't prove it was caused by his airborne time in the service. [smh] It's this kind of nonsense that we'll hear about incessantly if the VA goes to the type of medical care option Hegseth is proposing, and we'll be back to veterans suffering.

3 pointsI agree that those people are sick fucks. But from what I can see, there are a lot more risk of that from straight people than trans people. Mark Foley - propositioned teen Congressional aides, forced to resign Joel Greenberg - sentenced for sex trafficking of underage girls Ghislaine Maxwell - sentenced for sex trafficking of underage girls Denny Hastert - sexually abused underage boys Jim Jordan - supplied underage boys for Richard Strauss to abuse, then kept allegations quiet Donald Trump - bragged about peeping on underage girls Roy Moore - cruised local malls when he was in his 40's to hit on 14 and 16 year old girls Matt Gaetz - under investigation for pedophilia and sex trafficking; quit government to dodge the investigation So if your goal is to defend kids, spending your time targeting trans people will result in you missing the actual criminals and enablers.

2 pointsUnisex means "both sexes can use it." I lived in a dorm with unisex bathrooms for four years so I do have some experience with this. When you are trying to decide which bathroom to use, and you are planning to use a unisex bathroom, follow this guide: Straight man -> unisex bathroom Straight woman -> unisex bathroom Straight man who wants to molest children -> unisex bathroom Trans woman -> unisex bathroom Trans woman who wants to molest children -> unisex bathroom Gay man -> unisex bathroom Gay woman -> unisex bathroom If you are indeed a pedophile, being trans or cis does not matter when it comes to unisex bathrooms, because everyone uses the same one. Unisex bathrooms present no additional barriers or opportunities. Perhaps the one important thing you could draw from all the above is that it's the pedophiles that are the problem, not the trans people.

2 pointsThe sneaky wording on attorney Paul Van Der Velde suggests that he is lying about collecting the $40 million. Has an attorney ever lied before? Hah! Hah!
-
2 pointsTrue - and just like Trump he had to switch to the Republican Party in order to find a constituency damn fool enough to elect him. Is that where you’re going with that? The funny thing here is it shows how dead bipartisanship is in the USA when a Democrat president can be absolutely slated from both sides for doing exactly what Republican voters asked him to do. You voted for the president and his family to be above the law. You voted for government positions and influence to be given to the president’s family for them to peddle. You voted for people committing crime on behalf of the president to be pardoned. You voted for complete political control of the justice system. And yet here, if everything you say is true, we have a Democrat President finally running the administration the exact same way you want it to be run and you’re still not happy.

2 pointsWhen enough high ranking members of the ruling class feel threatened by potential assassins gun control will become fashionable.

1 pointJust the idea that we live on a planet where people are pretending that they are something or someone they aren’t freaks me out.

1 pointRushMC, April 2006: "There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998!" Brenthutch, June 2018: "Oh, and Tesla will be bankrupt within five years." Brenthutch, Sept 2024: "And they predicted a very active season in the Atlantic. It would seem the science is far from settled." Brenthutch yesterday: "Woke is dead" From the track record of right wing posters on here, we can conclude "woke" is alive and well.

1 pointIt seems you have to be obsessed with what other humans are doing when they are nekkid with other adults before this makes any sense. Wait, that still makes zero sense. Unless it's the white wingers with the problem. Their obsession with genitals is disturbing at the very least.
-
1 pointAs a reminder, Brent said this only 8 months ago when Tesla stock was $180. It is now $420. I bought it at $1.87. If you're looking to make money, you could use BH as a great guide; just invest in whatever he pans.

1 pointTell you what, it’s a damn weird world when you come across a kid who wants coal in his stocking.
-
1 pointBetter than passing out and "friends" putting you on a float in the swoop pond. So you can roll off and drown.
-
1 pointAnybody else remember when Reagan was governor of California? When the Black Panthers started openly carrying firearms, all the "important people" (white people) lost their shit. They put in some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the country in place. Twenty or thirty years later, all the gun rights activists started calling it "The People's Republic of Kalifornia" because of the restrictive laws, ignoring the basic fact that those laws were put in place by conservatives.

1 pointthere must be something with drunks and running through fires. i recall one time years ago when i had a walking cast on my leg, we threw a tire in the fire to help it along one night out in the woods drinking. about an hour later when the fire was going pretty good we all took turns jumping through it for some reason, well they all did anyway. i looked at it and thought, "i can do that, it's not that far across", and that was true. it wasn't that far, but i had forgotten about the rim on the tire we threw in. i hit it with my cast and just fell, sat down in the fire. when i put my hands down to get up, it burned like hell on the metal rim i was sitting on. had it not been for the wife of one of my friends (who were laughing their arses off at me) pulling me out, it could have been very bad instead of just painful.

1 pointDid you miss the part where I said...oh never mind Predictably this is how Brent ends his time in SC, and probably in general - shouting against imaginary opponents

1 pointNew episode out now! DB Cooper and the Mystery of Tena Bar with my good friend Ron Rovansek. https://thecoopervortex.podbean.com/e/db-cooper-and-the-mystery-of-tena-bar-ron-rovansek/ Enjoy!

1 pointHe’s got but 3 weeks to cram in what he thought would be another decade’s worth of trolling. Cut the poor guy a break: imagine how sad he’s gonna be.
-
1 pointThanks for the info. I recalled his name when I read your post. I spent many, many nights at the DZ on drunk skydiver campfire duty to keep people from doing such things like jumping through the fire....or passing out in it.
-
1 pointBrent once again got caught having no clue what he was talking about, so time to move the goal posts.
-
1 pointThat was Paul Rafferty, and it was 2004, and from what I remember, it was absolutely horrific. Do a search here for more if you want. Note that this website is going away at the end of the year, so do it soon Wendy P.

1 pointYep. And he paid his back taxes - with penalty. And turned in the guns. Anyone else would have walked. Hunter had a plea deal with the justice system - two years of probation and fines, which is the usual result of a plea deal. Then a Trump-appointed judge got her hands on it and decided to change things around a bit to make sure that Hunter was crucified to appease republicans like yourself. Congressional republicans then turned it into a political circus for their own benefit. Good for Biden for protecting his son from that. Did FOX News not mention that?
-
1 pointI am all for prosecuting rapists and felons. Not so much prosecuting someone whose crime is to be the son of the president.
-
1 pointSo it took 45 years to fix that reactor, and the new Vogtle reactors took 20 years from planning to first power. In the meantime, people are turning to renewables to fill the gap. Solar alone in the US will grow 75% in the next two years - 163 billion kilowatthours (kWh) in 2023 to 286 billion kWh in 2025. You'd need 56 new nuclear plants to replace that amount of energy. Given that from now until 2025 exactly one is going to open, the growth of renewables really faces no threat from nuclear.
-
1 pointIt shows the state of the US that this is necessary. With an independent judiciary it wouldn’t be necessary, but Trump proved it is not independent. Mike Johnson standing on the steps of the court house proved it was not independent. Joe Biden stood back and did not comment or interfere until the very end, not with Hunter and not with Trump. I still feel that Biden should pardon Trump. I want the stain on his legacy that he was a criminal that had to be pardoned and to remove all the opportunity for his corrupt cronies to drop the charges and declare him innocent. The other thing the ‘immune’ president should do before January is step up to the plate with illegal immigrants and strip Elon and Melania of US citizenship and send them packing.
-
1 pointRevolution is nasty and messy. I suspect with corrupt billionaires in power in the US, this is going to become as common as school shootings if not more so. Sooner or later people rise up against exploitation and abuse. Let’s face it, for a vast number of Americans it goes to the heart of the second amendment. (Somehow the right to bear arms and the murder of a health insurance ceo should be a joke)

1 pointLike EV subsidies and tax breaks? Don't think President Musk is going to allow that.
-
1 pointThen it is truly shocking and corrupt that Trump has vowed to prosecute them, has nominated an FBI director who has vowed to investigate them, and an AG who will enthusiastically go along with it. You must be horrified at such blatant abuses of the power of the state being planned in the open. Go on, say that it’s shocking, authoritarian and wrong. Tell the truth for once.
-
1 pointThe folks you are championing are such a minuscule percentage of the population. Not sure what the problem is. However if we’re talking about trans folks the question of male v female is more cut and dried until there is a complete transition and even then its mostly window dressing. But your goal seems to be to make it normal and mainstream. I don’t think it is.
-
1 pointMy favorite childhood memory was building sandcastles with my grandmother. That is, until my dad took her urn away from me.
-
1 pointRemember when the best thing about Trump was that his government wouldn't be beholden to rich campaign donors? Now the best thing about Trump is that his government will be run by rich campaign donors! It really all makes sense if you just look at it sideways and squint a bit. Not like a cult at all.
