4 pointsOne of the great fallacies in life, thinking you are at the end of a timeline.

3 pointsPam Bondi up to the plate to destroy the constitution and then end up like Rudy. Rudy had to turn over his watch collection and MB convertible the other day to pay restitution . But I digress. In 2020 she backed trump's false stolen election claims so she's loyal to trump. She had integrity until 2000 when she went GOP."She tried unsuccessfully to overturn and weaken the Affordable Care Act, opposed expanding legal protections for the L.G.B.T.Q. community...She also drew fire for her fund-raising practices — and for persuading the governor at the time, Rick Scott, to postpone an execution in 2013 because it conflicted with a fund-raiser for her re-election campaign.... In 2013, Ms. Bondi’s office received nearly two dozen complaints about Mr. Trump’s short-lived for-profit university, and her aides said she was considering joining a multistate lawsuit brought on behalf of students who claimed they had been cheated. Four days later, Ms. Bondi’s political action committee received a $25,000 contribution from a nonprofit funded by Mr. Trump. She never joined the lawsuit." So for a $25K political donation she sold out her fiduciary duties to the state of Florida to bury a fraud. So yeah trump sure can pick-em.

2 pointsSo can I post some signs in your yard? I especially like this one, and I found a 4 foot by 8 foot version of it! Let me know when I can stop by. (Unless you want to abridge my First Amendment rights of course)
-
2 pointsFree speech generally means freedom from prosecution. Persecution? Well that's a completely different matter. There are things you or I could say that would lead to shunning in society. And rightfully so.
-
2 pointsYou keep extending the population sample size to justify your position that MAGA aren’t extreme as they are a significant portion of the US population. A news flash for you MAGA are a minority compared to the majority of the world. Most of the world think they are racist nut jobs.
-
1 pointIt always amazes me how so many Americans believe they are the free-est folks on Earth because they have the Bill of Rights, which doesn't even accord a right to privacy according to Alito et al. Maybe they should look at the rights possessed by citizens of most European countries. About the only outlier here is the 2nd Amendment, something that results in the early deaths of tens of thousands of Americans annually.
-
1 pointDoesn't apply anywhere government isn't involved. Always amazes me how clueless Americans tend to be about what they think are their rights. What do you call a smart person in America? A tourist.
-
1 pointLooks like his new organization is trying to overlap with the pre-existing: Federation Aeronautique International, USA National Aero Club (sp?), United States Parachute Association, Soaring Society of America, etc.

1 pointThe alphabet people (other than plain gay) are a very small slice of the population. But the emotion and hatred generated in the right wing over them is very powerful. A very effective driver of voters, even more effective than the anti-semitism of the 1930s. We all love to hate someone.

1 pointThe First Amendment's constitutional right of free speech, which is applicable to state and local governments under the incorporation doctrine, prevents only government restrictions on speech, not restrictions imposed by private individuals or businesses unless they are acting on behalf of the government. The right of free speech can, however, be lawfully restricted by time, place and manner in limited circumstances. Some laws may restrict the ability of private businesses and individuals from restricting the speech of others, such as employment laws that restrict employers' ability to prevent employees from disclosing their salary to coworkers or attempting to organize a labor union. There's no government entity involved with a foreign owned website or social media websites in general. Did you read or do you remember the Terms of Service, AKA the Forum Rules and Policies?

1 pointKinda softball isn't it? Soft balls are hit back and turned into discussions. Hardballs just go right past and lead to talking at, rather than with, each other. It's not like baseball or Uncle where you win and the other guy acknowledges it. Wendy P.

1 pointThe people don't actually choose who to vote against. They only choose who to vote for. I will confess that because I live in a country with a parliamentary system not only do I not even get a direct vote for the leader of the nation I also live with the fact that no prime ministers party have received a majority of votes for as long as I can remember. 34% will usually win the government and 40% is a landslide. So I'm having a hard time sympathizing with you for that weakness in your system. Even though I share your strong feelings about the result you are stuck with. But it is not the system, it is the people.
-
1 pointActually I consistently said Trump would win. You can’t have it both ways. You imply MAGA is not an extremist minority in a global context. By pushing back against my view that they are seen as nut jobs, you completely invalidate your own argument. You can no more read the mind of the world than I can. Bill and a few others have listed out a number of extremist Trumpian policies.

1 pointHardly. That is classic RichRavizza. To grasp the meaning takes an understanding of 70's chemistry. Start with 1/2 a tab of Purple Owsley, one cube of Orange Sunshine, 3 fresh psilocybin shrooms, and just when the colors start take two hits of Lebanese Red hash. It'll all make perfect sense.

1 pointGood goog-a-loo man, do you have the slightest inkling about the effects of a complete dismantling of this "Administrative State"? I think a lot of folks left and right wouldn't be offended with a personnel reduction in the agencies, especially now. Frankly I'd like to see you get what you want for the harm it would cause Red states and Trump voters like you. So yes, blow it up and good luck.
-
1 pointstill waiting. your lack of response only shows the weakness and fragility of you argument. What I expected.
-
1 pointWell, the administrative state is what Theodore Roosevelt fought for (aka the Civil Service). I think that a whole lot of jobs SHOULD have civil service protection, exactly so that they don't become political pawns. We've gotten awfully big as a country; people you know nothing about also live here, and are citizens, and have needs you couldn't care less about. Do you want your needs served before them? Wendy P.

1 pointIt’s not inconceivable that if Trump and Steven Miller declare Mexico won’t take illegals. It is costing the US taxpayer, they are all murderers and rapists and should be executed. If that happened, I honestly don’t see MAGA Mike and the rest of the clown show objecting.

1 pointI don't know what next TBH. We used 7 planes (Twin Otters and Skyvans) and we started off with 156ways, so with the same number of planes, we could do a little bigger than 151. Could also add another plane without needing to ferry one in. Or a 3 pointer bigger than the 108, 3 point record (I beleive that's current 3 point TBS record). But it's been 2 years in a row for the Eloy events, not sure there will be one next year as AirSpeed is rebuilding with 2 new members, so they'll probably focus hard on 4way. It's getting harder and harder in Europe to get the planes... Chicago is doing a 250 single point next year I beleive.

1 pointIt's weird how some people think "more punishment" is the solution to the homelessness problem. It's not like people want to be homeless. Nobody, I repeat NOBODY does. Thinking that they need to be punished so they'll be motivated not to be homeless is the most messed up thing ever.

1 pointHey everyone, I wanted to give you a heads-up that I'll be putting Dropzone.com on the market. It has been a great 27 years, but for the last few years this has simply not been my focus, and the site is showing that neglect. It's time for someone else to pick up the ball and run with it, or take the domain in whatever direction they decide. There are still costs associated every month with keeping Dropzone.com up, that has become hard to justify. If you have PMs that you'd like to keep, now would be a good time to copy those as there is no telling what the next owner might do to keeping it up or not. If you're interested in buying the site or domain (serious buyers only) feel to get in touch PMs.

1 pointI believe the expression “chickenshit motherfucker” was invented for revelations like that Wendy P.

1 pointI'm reminded of an observation from a regular at the Convention, where he said he likely came to be there when it ended. rec.skydiving ran its course, and the noise: signal ratio got out of hand. DZ.com has had a good run as well. SC has become less tolerant/more toxic over time, and too many posters are a waste of bandwidth. Quite who has merit depends on one's position - there are liberal posters that are offensive to the left, conservative posters that are offensive to the right, and some that have nothing but venom for those they perceive to be in opposition to their position. The humorless tone of SC makes it remarkably shallow. Anyone criticizing one sacred cow or another is deemed a troll, whether their point is made up or well referenced. Talk about boring... If SC was rife with scintillating wit that would be one thing but, unfortunately, it is anything but. If DZ.com survives, fine. If it goes by the wayside, so be it.

1 pointThe notion of multiple different rigs reminds me of an old “Rambo” … the second or third. Rambo was jumping out of a business jet into a SE Asia jungle. He was wearing a sport-sized Vector 3 … waaaaay smaller than the tandem-sized containers worn by military freefall, special forces guys who like to jump with rucksack, rifle and snowshoes. At one of the PIA Symposia Bill bough shared an amusing side-story. While that Vector 3 was goi grown the production line of the ladies sniffed it and said: “Ah! This led pad will lay against Silvester Stallone’s thigh!” Hah! Hah!
