It's cute that you think Trump appoints a team to thoroughly review the minutiae of the cases he pardons.

This is a painful reality. VERY painful. More so given the number of Americans that support it. I should say "former" Americans though.

Hi folks, Expect more of this with the advent of MAGA 2.0: Biden condemns 'sickening' neo-Nazi march in Ohio Looks like they are not as brave as they would want us to think: masked men shouting racial slurs and carrying swastika flags Jerry Baumchen

Oh come-on guys. I'll admit republicans are gerrymandering as much as possible and using local election officials to mess with election laws in local jurisdictions. I'll admit that the US is sliding to banana land. But the courts are still somewhat a backstop. The press is largely free. trump only won the vote by a small margin. "Trump’s popular-vote advantage has declined steadily since election night. As of Monday afternoon, Trump was at 49.94 percent, while Harris was at 48.26, according to the authoritative Cook Political Report’s tracking of results from official sources in states across the country. " You-all are starting to sound like Joe when he gets on a downer about politics and the US situation.

You are assuming that there will be "legitimate" elections in 2 years. I have no confidence in that. If there are elections at all, they will be like the elections like they have in Russian, purely for show, with the results already pre-determined. Free and fair elections are a thing of the past in the USA.

I'm sure that there is a section in trump's books that proposes that exactly. IMO trump will use recess appointments and push everything he can from day one. Look at all those who he has surrounded himself with. Only a GOP led impeachment will stop him and I have doubts that will happen before midterms. His dictatorship pedal will be on the floorboards of the trumpmobile from day one.

Oh, I think George Will nailed it. Propose the impossible, and they’ll “settle” for the ridiculous Wendy P.

It’s Biden’s JOB to be polite. It’s another thing Trump was incapable of completing when he was the outgoing president Wendy P.

Let's see what you and I actually said... ..to which I said.. It was indeed myself who would wish to check the minutia but I do not have the access, role or legal training to do so. There was nothing in my reply that claimed what Trump's team would do but rather only what they could do in their position. With regard to the existence of an actual 'team' at all; his spokesperson Karoline Leavitt indicated that pardons would be on a 'case-by-case basis' and it's my own opinion , on probability, that Trump will not take time out to personally peruse each case, hence the very likely delegation to a team due to the volume of cases to examine and expertise required.

Thanks for sticking around. I don’t agree with your conclusions, but you add to the discussion and provide an alternative viewpoint.

The US is now a full blown reality TV show. There is no rule of law, or checks and balances. It’s all about airtime and number of likes on Social media. Musk has already started engaging Twits to gather opinions and to try and sway public opinion. Meanwhile so called dumb Russia is playing Trump for the joke he is. It always amazes me that people swallow the propaganda that Russia is so incompetent. I don’t know how much inertia the US institutions have, but the wheels came off some time ago. But the US is doomed and past the point of saving.

SCOTUS is mostly conservative, but not MAGA. There is some hope of that branch curbing the worst excesses.

The reality is that very little good can come from pandering to the most base instincts of the lowest common denominator. It may be popular, but it is very easy to take it too far and all indications are that is what will happen. Mass deportations are not going to happen because it is both too hard and too expensive to accomplish. But hundreds of thousands and possibly millions are going to be terrorized anyway for no good reason. It will make some people feel good. In a similar vein there will be tariffs because that's easy. Will they "work"? You know they won't bring jobs to America, but they will start a trade war. They will cause price increases and the treasury can probably use the tax revenue. I wonder how long till US citizens are required to show proof of vaccinations or be quarantined in order to enter Europe? Revolution without a cause is a phrase that comes to mind. Much ado about nothing.

I predict most will go silent again when Trump becomes president, and his presidency is not quite the nirvana they were promised.

No matter how bad things get under Trump, Joe 6-pack will find a way to blame it on Biden and the lefties. One of the key characteristics of both Trump and his supporters is never admit to making a mistake. Another is always find someone else to blame. Personal responsibility does not exist in MAGA moron world.
