Hanging out drinking beer with an old friend (haven't touched the stuff for almost four decades, so it was a while ago), he said "Winsor, you'll never be rich, you don't care about money." I responded that I had nothing against money and that I was by no means a Socialist. He agreed, but said that if I couldn't spend it I had no use for it. Though I've done better than average, I really don't care about the particulars beyond being comfortable and having options, so he was right. Another friend of mine, who was very wealthy, expressed envy at my lifestyle, since he was focused on being wealthy and I flew wherever I pleased and generally gallivanted around the globe. He said he intended to retire early and make up for lost time, spending time with his kids instead of working continuously. A couple of weeks after he pulled the plug at the age of 42 he returned from buying a ranch in Costa Rica and a condo in St John - cash, of course - and pulled a muscle in the gym. 18 hours later he was dead from necrotizing fasciitis. He now has wealthy kids who would give it all up to have their father back. Having lived most of my life around people with Money, I have a pretty good idea of how to amass Serious Wealth. I also realize that I just don't care that much. While it's generally better to be a Have than a Have Not, I'm basically a Boy Scout and prefer to be comfortable with integrity than a seriously wealthy scumbag. If I had to, say, have the "ethics" of Trump to have his assets, my response is to keep your goddamned money. If I came across an opportunity to be fabulously rich, I'd go for it (Dave Barry said someone in Nigeria sent him $42,000,000 in 54 boxes via UPS), but I've yet to buy a lottery ticket. Beyond wanting my family to thrive, whether I'm rich or broke when I die is pretty much academic.

It’s telling that even here there is nothing that our newfound MAGA ultra-loyalists will come out and object to. Even Republican Senators and Congressmen are publicly speaking out against Gaetz, one even saying he has as much chance of being invited for tea with the Queen than being confirmed. Now I don’t think they’ll remember where their spines are when it come time to vote, but it would be very funny if this ends up being the way the Gaetz is ejected from Congress, given that he’s already resigned in anticipation of taking up the role. For Hesgeth, he once declared that it was impossible to know if the black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs had been chosen because he was the best possible candidate or because he was black. So I’d be incredibly disappointed if during the hearings no one asked the talk show host with no high level managerial experience whatsoever if he was being put up for the Sec Def job because he was definitely the best possible candidate or because he was a white racist.

Looking at voting patterns vs educational level, I doubt many Trump supporters realize that it is their ox he's going to gore.

None, unless you are willing to put in the work to drive ad revenues up. If anyone is looking to contribute some money and have the website support itsel with no effort, that won't happen. It will need either: 1) Constant money to pay for hosting (not much but some) 2) A sales effort to get ads. If anyone has time, 2) is a great option. I don't and no one I talked to does.

vaccine use has plummeted because most/many/majority of people now have been vaccinated and have sufficient immunity to similar viruses, much like people that get the flu shot every year. I get surprisingly few vaccinations BECAUSE I get vaccinations. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is trump's appointment as ambassador to Israel. In the past he has stated that Arabs and Palestinians have no rights in the west bank. That any two state solution will never happen. IMO this is all just Allah's just reward for Arab Americans voting for trump. In the mistaken belief that trump will bring peace to Palestinians. Palestinians have a knack for picking losers for leaders.

I generally look for a few qualities in people to employ. Integrity, competence and character. Putting a guy in charge of the legal system who has an ethics complaint that even the spineless republicans would not wipe away. Invalidates any competence he may or may not have. As an atheist I don’t follow the biblical model of promoting rapists and murderers to high office.
