They did in Australia. All it takes is the will.

Sure it would change. It just takes time. But that isn't a reason not to do the right thing.

I was unaware that either beaches or margaritas are available in prison.

Husband comes home and finds his wife packing her suitcase. Where are you going? he asks. I'm going to Vegas! I found out I can make $500 a night doing what I do for you for free! Husband starts packing his suitcase too. Where are you going? wife asks. I'm going to Vegas, I want to see how the hell you can live on $500 a year.

I was livid when I found out the gun nutter BV murdered his family - my anger got me a vacation here. It still makes me angry as all fuck to see someone murder their children. Americans seem to prefer to ignore the "well regulated" part of the Second. Yet another thing I'll never understand. Americans have zero fucks to give about fellow citizens lives. The price of gas at the pump though....

First they came for the journalists. We don't know what happened after that.

If you like, but that ostensible truth doesn't void the fact that whatever was the brain chemistry rebalance, or sudden electrical storm, that caused the subject to grab a gun and murder his family is still a mystery. Nor does it void the fact that a butcher knife has the same utility. Of course the proliferation of guns in America is a huge contributor to these events, you won't get an argument from me, but clearly there is a lot more involved that can't be known from making a few jumps together or giving them a good look over. As I recall, Ted Bundy was a rather benign and pleasant looking fellow who preferred bludgeoning over shooting.

What is so baffling is that we know for a fact that too many people of color won't vote against the racism they rightfully condemn. Similarly, you'd think that 100% of LGBTQ folks would vote against Trump but they won't. Even crazier is that young white men trend towards Trump. I mean, if there was ever a cohort that should be concerned about women losing abortion rights you'd think they'd be it. Nothing makes sense anymore.

A lot of European family names were adopted from professions or actions that an ancestor was known for. Like Smith (works with metal, such as blacksmiths) or Fletcher (an arrow maker) or Thatcher (one who thatched roofs). The Dickinson’s must have an awkward family history.

Ah yes, but he isn't a brown illegal, so none of that matters. Right now the republican party stands for nothing but racism and fascism.

Hi Mark, Hope things are getting better in your part of the world. Us 'older folks' are like wagon wheels: We've been thru it more than once and sometimes it wasn't so nice. Jerry Baumchen

"Creating a right'. Sure. I wasn't aware the right to privacy didn't exist before Roe v Wade (for those not aware, the 'right to privacy' between a woman and her doctor for medical purposes was the main legal reason for Roe v Wade) I also wasn't aware the right to not incriminate one's self didn't exist before Arizona v Miranda (that's where "you have the right to remain silent..." came from). I wasn't aware the right to marry didn't exist before Obergefell v Hodges or Loving v Virginia.

I tried explaining (mansplaining???) to Skymama this weekend that Trump will win and that she will have to do as I say from now on. We laughed.

He says he’s going to put RFK in charge of medicine, drugs and vaccines so yeah, there are no limits. Clearly the message is that the only concern of a Trump presidency is to serve himself and his loyal backers and there will be zero fucks given about anyone or anything else.

Family homicide in Australia | Australian Institute of Criminology - would seem on the surface that they do in fact have a lower rate of family homicide, but trying to find any data that compares country to country seems difficult if not futile. yeah you can use a butcher knife, hell you can probably kill your family with a banana, if you try hard enough, but the odds of escaping such an attack or avoiding such an attack, versus a gun is definitely a factor. And Billy Vance is still a murdering cunt

Billy had his psychological issues and money troubles for years and years and years. He had his gun for what, 3 months before using it? Correlation doesn’t imply causation but it winks very heavily in its general direction.

Woke or un-woke, gender or mis-gendered, Trump loving or not, homosexual or straight or some variation, or sadly the feeling that you must kill those closest to you to escape, and on and on. What goes on at the level of the brain defies any possible current understanding. It might be intellectually satisfying to be reductionist, and certain, but things and our personal understandings are always more complex. The truth is that we really don't have a clue why we feel the way we do or why we act on those feelings the way we do. But we each and every one of us is always on the precipice of being something other than we think we are. Hence, judge not your fellow beings for their quirks because you just cannot know whether or not you are next up.

Old couple had been married for 65 years and he was on his death bed. He tells the wife the combination to a safe that he had always told her to never look in. Inside the safe was $40,000 and three eggs. This of course puzzled her. She asked him what the three eggs & the $40,000 meant. He said, ‘Every time I was unfaithful to you I put an egg in the safe.’ She was not happy but said, 'I guess that’s not too bad for 35 years.' He continued, 'Every time I got a dozen eggs I sold them. That’s where the $40,000 came from.’ Jerry Baumchen

Assuming that they are all jumping the same size of main canopies, put the heaviest tandem out first and put the lightest out last. If the spot gets too long, the last TI should be smart enough to open higher than normal. Since outside photographers tend to open half as high as tandems, they deserve a better spot. At most DZs, photographers help open the door, and check the spot before exit.
