5 pointsAs my late step father used to quote to us as kids from Proverbs “Like a madman shooting deadly arrows, is the fool who throws out firebrands and says I was only joking.” Using the “I was only joking” excuse for racism is pretty lame and a poor attempt to cover up your views.

3 pointsI don't see BH's troll posts, but do I understand that he thinks $1.9T stands out more than $3T, just because he doesn't like Biden and likes the rapist?

2 pointshttps://skydivingmagazine.org/browse-issues/ I started skydiving around 1987 and reading theses old magazines have given me such great pleasure and sadness. There is so much that I missed before I started skydiving and since then, so many great people are no longer with us. On the plus side, I really enjoy the history and the great memories of all that has happened. I knew Mike, but not very well and now can really appreciate the writing and history. Thank you Sue for making them available.

2 pointsThey don't. A person born outside the country to one US citizen parent has birthright citizenship. In other words, they are a natural born citizen. Just one part of the racist idiocy that was the birther conspiracy.

2 pointsI know it gets lonely in there, but that kind of racist crap doesn’t belong in this thread and should be in critics corner. Kamala filled TWO stadiums in one night, seems she’s pretty competent. Let’s try and keep a thread full of good vibes the way it was intended. You’re more than welcome to start a praise for white nationalists and trump thread.

1 pointJim Hooper has died of Cancer. He told me about his condition months ago and asked I not say anything. This a cut and paste of Roland Hilfiker’s post in Facebook Old School Skydiving. Jim Hooper the former owner and operator of the Zephyrhills Parachute Center, passed away on 12 January at the age of 82. Jim was a guy who left his marks on skydiving like hardly anyone else by running what was the world’s leading drop zone between the early 70s and 1983 (including the Turkey Meets), by staging the 1981 World Meet in Relative Work there, and by fostering Canopy Relative Work with the first international competitions around the same time . He retired from what he referred to as dispensing “fun and frolic” liberally to an entire skydiving generation in 1983 and became a war correspondent in Africa and in the Balcan. Author of several books and regular contributor to the Soldier of Fortune magazine, he reported on conflicts big and small from which the other journalists stayed away. Godspeed Hoop! And thanks for everything you did for us. My life would not have been the same without you!

1 pointBeen a minute since I’ve been in here. Just donated to Friends in need animal shelter and thought about Girlfalldown. She was a big supporter of theirs and they could use some donations right now. I miss her still have her patches and stickers on my gear even if I haven’t been able to jump in years and probably never jump again after Covid nearly killed me 3 years ago. Strange what brings back memories. Anyway if anyone wants to help them out here is the link to their Facebook page that you can donate to them. https://www.facebook.com/friendsinneedanimalsanctuary?mibextid=LQQJ4d

1 pointNot sure you'll see this as I'm probably blocked, but this is some terrible maths. I'm pretty sure $3.4 billion / 100 million americans = $34. Unless you meant the old definition of billion as "million million" (or trillion) but that's still just $34,000. Looks like the numbers are lost on you, too.

1 pointNo, but the Democrats advocating the same policies are apparently rabid communists, who will turn the US into a wasteland unless they elect a felon. The rest of the world shakes its head in disbelief at the crass ignorance and stupidity displayed by the MAGA mob.

1 pointIn a manner that speaks volumes. But since neither you nor Winsor can come up with a single reason why she is incompetent other than occasionally using the wrong word It strongly suggests that she is quite competent. Which I suppose could count as some sort of praise, so well done for staying on topic this time.

1 pointA guy comes round after been under anesthetic for a major operation and sees the surgeon sitting beside his bed. Surgeon: "Ah you've finally woken up, I have good news and bad news, which would you like to hear first?" Patient: "Whats the bad news?" S: " There was a mix up, and we made a mistake, and, unfortunately amputated the wrong leg" P: "Well, whats the good news?" S: "Your other leg is going to get better".

1 pointHi airdvr, Let me see if I have this correct: You think a random YouTube is going to derail her quest for the Presidency? Why don't you just say what you really mean: You are a Trump supporter without the guts to say it out loud. Now, how about those YouTubes on Trump . . . Jerry Baumchen

1 pointOMG!, just the headline about wokeness is enough for me to vote Trump. I'm just grateful for you guys who find these important, learned, YouTube videos for us to watch whist we're waiting for the hot dogs to cook on the barbie.

1 pointIn just saying the average American was better off during the Trump administration than during the Biden administration. Inflation, high interest rates, record credit card debt, out of control border, record number of fentanyl deaths, wars raging around the world and a senile old man in the White House possibly being replaced by a cackling hyena who can’t read a teleprompter, or do a press conference. Yes, I get it…orange man bad, but no worse than our alternative.

1 pointThey are social democracies, where the policies put the welfare of the citizens first. Social welfare, free or low cost education, medical treatment, pensions for the elderly are all socialist policies. And free and fair elections without political corruption. Those are some of the richest, most stable countries on the planet. I think you are confusing socialism with communism, the worst example being North Korea, effectively a dictatorship, exactly what Trump wants to bring to the US. I doubt very much that Kamala has much in common with the countries on that list you posted. In fact Trump is more closely aligned with most of them
-
1 pointNorway, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, France, the UK, Australia, NZ, Japan...are a few examples of countries that have failed with those socialist policies.... Hang on.....
