3 pointsRhetorical I assume? Over 900 YouTube videos spouting nonsense, conspiracy and lies all tied together. For which a lobotomy is required to view should suggest more are upcoming.

2 pointsYeah Wendy! Let Rich here explain what it's like to be a woman in today's society to you.

2 pointsAll things being equal, his lack of expertise resulted in innocents being wounded and killed and his target receiving political benefit. Nice work there.

2 pointsSo today's party of law and order teaches me the following: Rape is ok Fraud is permitted Stealing our nation's most secret defense information is totally cool - especially if you sell or give it to our enemies Bankruptcy is a form of business management Dead children and armed teachers is the future of education Bribery is accepted Violence is the answer if you don't get what you want Truth, honesty, and respect are no longer needed and should be avoided at all cost I am stunned that yet again I am stunned. I simply do not understand the reality of America today.

2 pointsThat is so damned asinine! 1. Having his fat ass in the Whitehouse for 4 years means he gets Secret Service protection for life. 2. The SS is a part of the executive branch. 3. The executive branch is headed by Biden. Biden could give the orders to smother Trump in his sleep and make look like a heart attack. If the SS balked, he could sheep-dip a Navy Seal, and insert him into the SS to get the job done. And if the coverup got blown, well SCOTUS says Biden has immunity.

2 pointsI can't. Biden is boring and old, but has done well so far. He will get more boring and more old, and likely not survive his next term, or will be 25th'ed out. In which case the presidency will be in disarray and nothing much will get done. Which is not the worst outcome. Trump is an active danger to America. He has long campaigned on retribution and vengeance, and has stated he will be a "dictator" for a short time, and that he wants to "terminate" the "phony" Constitution. That's an active threat to America. One could claim "well, he won't be able to do that" - but ten years ago I am sure no one would have thought he could mount an insurrection, get abortion de-legalized or put Putin on a pedestal, either. If he accomplishes even 25% of what he sets out to do, he will have damaged the US significantly. Also, he is just plain evil. You can explain away greedy business decisions ("it's for the stockholders!") having a drug addict son, treating your kids poorly ("they're just not good kids") even working to take rights away from women ("the states should decide.") But you cannot pursue a stranger into a changing room and rape them without being inherently evil. And I don't want the US led by an evil man. The choice, for me, is very clear. The US is too important to me to ignore the threat.

2 pointsThat goes both ways. When the Left is describing a potential second Trump term as “the end of democracy” and “the country won’t survive if Trump gets elected” this was bound to happen. (or describing Trump supporters as Nazis)

1 pointAfter the Starliner space vehicle launch, Boeing detected two additional problems with the vehicle. One was an increase in the helium leak rate (minor) - a second was a failure of five vehicle thrusters (major.) It still managed to dock with the ISS after a delay while they dealt with the thruster issue. They have so far delayed its return five times. This time they haven't given a date for the return; it is on indefinite hold. The clock is ticking, though. The vehicle only has enough consumables to last 45 days on-station, so unless they can return by July 21st, the vehicle will be stuck there. More likely they will plan an unmanned return before then if they are still having problems. What I worry about is the pressure that Boeing and NASA are under. Having to do an unmanned return will look horrible for Boeing; they will appear to be able to do nothing right. And since the crew will probably then come back in a Dragon, Musk will spend the next year crowing about how the safe, reliable Dragon rescued the poor astronauts from the deadly, defective Boeing vehicle ordered by those tax-money-wasting idiots at NASA. And NASA is then going to have to explain why they spent $4.3 billion on the Boeing system, given that they spent only $2.5 billion on the Dragon, which has been flying for two years and costs half as much per mission than the Boeing will. Saying "so yeah it needs some more work and another test flight" will not be a good look for them. In both the Challenger and Columbia disasters, one of the big factors called out was "normalization of deviance" - the approach "well, it worked before and it's no worse now, so why worry?" I hope they don't take that approach this time.

1 pointGranted the Trump getting shot factor has significantly changed things since I had made that post. But I disagree strongly that Trump would win as a result of not backing Biden. It’s amazing how effective strong decisive leadership is, and if the dems including Biden backed and promoted someone I think they stood a better chance than Biden. For the next couple of weeks Trump owns the news cycle as a result of the shooting. The dems could come out hard and strong and turn the situation around.
-
1 pointI'm going with a simpler reason. He was finally gonna show that high school gun club that they were wrong about his shooting skills.
-
1 pointYet their convention today won't allow guns in the venue. How will the faithful protect their president from more violence?
-
1 pointThis whole fiasco sounds like poor gun control. Some of those good-old boys from the National Rifle Association should coach the shooter on how to focus his front sight on the target and breath out slowly while he take sup the slack in the trigger. Sarcasm alert!

1 pointDoes the news alway drive your narrative, it took your fact checkers seven years to dispel that rage. I did it live by watching Fox LOL Then by reading the transcript, but that would be irrelevant, futile. Here verbaum, and in ur best Trump impression, "I'm not talking about the neo nazis or the white supremist, they should be condemned.....Totally". I know of a journalist that can call out gaslighting and demagoguery as mere comedy. You should be upset that some people lied to control your perspective it's a process of brainwashing with phobia, useful to the party but living a lie, is unhealthy. Would I be correct in assuming your a fan of R.Reich's videos. As far a Project 2025 Trump said "some of the things they're saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal." I'll agree, a real Dumpster fire.

1 pointThat's why we went a month ago. It was a whole 12 degrees cooler. Win! In an attempt to keep this on track out of consideration of Bigun, been reading about how this heat affects people's lives there - mainly because these problems will soon spread to other areas. One issue is that in Henderson they had to close all the pools because the water was dangerously hot. Does this mean pools simply closed when it's hot out? Or pool refrigeration systems? Another, coming from a pet owner's group in Vegas, is that people can't walk their dogs any more. The streets are too hot during the day, and even at midnight someone recorded sidewalk temperatures over 120 (air temp was 105 at the time.) At night the low temperatures were getting down to 95F, so some owners were getting up at 4am so they could walk their dogs when the sidewalks had cooled down enough. But even 95F air temperature is tough on some dogs. It will be interesting to see all the small and large changes in people's behavior due to warming. "No more dogs in some areas" is one of the more minor ones. But public pools is a bigger one IMO - some people rely on pools to keep themselves cool in the summer. The future may see more high temperature shelters for people who can't afford A/C (or a home at all) in such areas.

1 pointI disagree with that. If he gets the majority of house and senate (unlikely), he will never leave office, ever, not under any circumstances and the GOP will let that happen. Even if he loses, they already have plans in place to disrupt the election again, possibly sending it to the states for adjudication. All the checks and balances will be re-appointed with Trump loyalists who are also equally a threat to America, democracy and the world. Threats are already regularly pursued by law enforcement, but apparently the Supreme Court is on Trumps side and shoots all those efforts to hell. yet another example of the end of America.

1 pointThe American people are the most divided we've seen in this lifetime. Most of the left-leaning on here have made comments about Biden's lack of fitness for varying reasons, Trump fitness is more than questionable. I haven't sat out since 1980. What in the hell are my choices? What the hell are anybody's choices? We're not voting for anymore - we're voting against. You have been vocal about your lack of confidence in Biden - you're not really voting for him, you're voting against Trump. I bring up a D that I would vote for, young, military experience, Rhodes Scholar, socially responsible, fiscally conservative, gun laws in Maryland that have yet to be challenged, etc. and yet, he gets a dismissive wave of the hand cause America is "not ready" for another Black on the ticket. The truth is - I will sit out this one if no one brings us the type of leadership this country needs. Abstention is active politics. It's being able to stand up and say, I don't agree with either position because it's not in the interest of the greater good. If enough people abstain, then sometimes people will reflect on doing something different - or they'll just dig in their heels and drive their point harder - even if it's not for the benefit of everyone - that's the real self-chicanery. You want me to vote your way. Not the best way.

1 pointHi Mark, Best PR thing that could happen for Trump. Think about the photos of Trump with his fist in the air, blood on his face, compared to Biden who feebly says, 'We beat MediCare.' Jerry Baumchen PS) Largest 2 inches in modern American political history.
