As per SOP, you're coming here and telling a group largely made up of moderates what moderates believe, based on what you've been spoon-fed by your right-wind media diet. Does it take a lot of effort to remain so willfully ignorant that you post this in a thread where several people, including me, have detailed their support for Biden? There's zero doubt that he's increasingly looking like a horrible campaigner right now, but that doesn't negate what he has, and could continue to do as President.

I will vote for Biden if he remains the nominee and has a heartbeat.

Or, congress could get its shit together and pass more clear laws instead of relying on bureaucrats to regulate.

He has shown up periods of time that are up to a half hour or so. We are talking about another 4 year term in an extremely stressful and important job. It is reckless for the D party to foist this upon the nation. He is going to lose bigly if he does not bow out.

Yes, some octogenarians would be able to do the job. But Biden has shown good reason to believe he is not one of them.

I like a whole lot about him; the biggest problem organizationally is that he's not high enough profile. With Biden potentially dropping out, the standard succession would have Kamala Harris being the candidate; nearly everyone is pretty sure she'll be eviscerated, whether fairly or not is moot. I can see the appeal of running someone who will appeal to the more liberal end of the Democratic party, to energize them and get them to vote. It's part of why the Republicans tolerate Trump. Everyone wants the other party to run a centrist candidate; it's the NIMBY of politics, I guess. What a shame. And he may not be interested (of course, neither may the others who have been proposed by the movers and shakers of SC). But yea, if the Dems ran him against Kamala, I'd vote for him in a NY minute. And he might last until OAN or someone made up a "baby daddy" situation. Wendy P.

Hi folks, Here's where it gets serious: New York Times editorial board: Joe Biden should drop out (thehill.com) Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, You are not facing reality. This election will be decided in 6-7 states by the 'undecided' voters. Many of those that have been on the fence about Biden's age, had their minds made up Thurs nite. You cannot push water upstream. Joe Biden had one chance to show that an old guy can do the job. He failed. Even his speech on Friday, the next day showed him slurring his words at times. Jerry Baumchen

Tammy Duckworth is smart, popular, has demonstrated guts, and would appeal to veterans as well as women.

From a purely objective perspective, Biden has more functional years ahead of him than Trump does. Trump is morbidly obese, has a poor diet, gets no exercise and has a family history of Alzheimer's, so looking at the issue purely objectively Biden will be more likely to be alive, aware and functioning at the end of four years than Trump. I realize that means nothing these days, but just wanted to mention that.

I think it will be closer to "enforce the law as interpreted by the side with the deepest pockets."

Regarding things in general, every regulatory decision that has a financial impact on any business will have to be litigated to death before they can be enforced. The courts will be overwhelmed to the point of paralysis. It will be impossible to respond to any health or environmental problem, indeed any issue, on a time scale faster than decades. And in the end, any decision no matter how technical will be made by judges who have no training in the subject. However lawyers are well known for their confidence that they can read a one page brief and know more than anyone who has spent their whole career working on a topic.

I'd happily vote for Condi Rice as opposed to the current candidates. I'm also impressed by Tulsi Gabbard, and Kyrsten Sinema strikes me as brighter than hell. Anyone who makes race or sex a big deal one way or another is a racist or sexist, as the case may be. If you're Gloria Steinham, David Duke, Jesse Jackson or whatever it's a living, but all too often people focus on identity politics only when competence is otherwise lacking. Thomas Sowell is too old, and may have lacked the necessary cunning to be effective in his prime, but I'd vote for a younger female version of him in a heartbeat. FWIW, this post demonstrates convincingly that racism and sexism sell.

IMO there's no reason for bump stocks or binary triggers to be publicly available I understand the suppressors. They reduce recoil and are commonly used for hog and coyote control. I'm not as concerned about them because they are highly regulated. Recently discovered a company in CA that makes a recoil reduction product that also "redirects" the sound but it's not classified as a suppressor. Infinite Product Solutions – Barrel Thread Adapters, Cleaning Kits In S Africa guns are highly regulated yet suppressors are a $200 over the counter item. One can own 4 guns: two rifles, a shotgun and a handgun. An application is required and permission from local enforcement is needed. No semi or auto rifles are allowed. If the gun is lost or stolen one can end up in jail. They will visit your house, inspect your security practices and one better have a great excuse for how it disappeared. If it's used in a crime one will go to jail. They are tracked and regular renewal is required. When a sportsman takes a rifle to Africa the serial number is recorded and listed on the flight ticket. When exiting the country that same gun better be in ones possession.

Why exactly was she polarizing and unpopular? Did any particular news media outlet have something to do with that? She was actually acknowledged to be quite an excellent senator from New York. Wendy P.

The biggest concern about Biden has persistently been his age. I’m listening to the post spin talks about how you elect an administration not a person and tacitly acknowledging that Biden appears to be, or is weak. Just because he’s a nice guy, doesn’t mean he deserves the job. He deserves respect and acknowledgement for all the good things he’s done. But a great leader knows when it’s time to hand over the leadership.

Fine defeatist attitudes if there ever was two. A leader surrounds themselves with the best advisors, listens to their council and then makes decisions. Even if Biden becomes incapacitated he has a qualified VP. trump on the other hand will surround himself with the worst of the worst. In addition if the GOP seizes control of the government. With the Chevron decision and a USSC that see's itself as law unto itself. It will gut every environmental and social law- precedent ever made. The US will become one giant pseudo-christian, AR-15 a-totin, corporate free for all.

Well, the absolute simplest is probably a base rig on a high bridge jump. One canopy, enough time to get stable, pull. No obstacles if it’s an ideal world. That said, I’d go with a square 7-cell main and a square 7-cell reserve. Because part of the simplicity is the same thing you’re used to no matter what. While they’re more complex-seeming, squares seem to have a better track record on not malfunctioning than rounds. Wendy P.

Been busy ignoring the law, doing Carolina Fest and recovering since my last visit here. Getting too old to make 6 jumps a day and party. All interesting and agreeable comments. It's easy to look at a limited group of facts for any of those mentioned and create a positive or negative picture. As an example, about all I recall on HRC are Benghazi, the server in the house, the destroyed emails and the Steele document. Noting that there was no prosecution is a distracting topic. I'm certain she did some good work I just have no recall of it. Jerry said, "the choice is very easy." It seems that's the case for many people. Some like Biden and some like Trump. Those that like Biden say, "I don't see how anyone could vote him, he's a womanizer and a convicted felon." Those that like Trump say, "I don't see how anyone could vote for him, he's senile, wrecked the economy and opened the border." The candidates are fighting for those that are left over. According to the media that's the black vote, the younger crowd and some others. I've noticed in my social groups that no one is talking politics unless they know the person they are speaking with has the same opinions. Nine at lunch today, 7 men, 2 women, 48 - 73 years old. Talked about all kinds of things but not politics. The biggest laugh was the 50-year old birthday girl that said, "some sexual harassment would be appreciated about now." It's too divisive.
