That right there almost generated a spit take. If you feel so sure that you've got several solid arguments, then pick one FFS! Whenever somebody calls you out on a dubious claim, you jump to 'another goalpost' until somebody calls you out there, then rinse and repeat. It's like a game of Denier Whack-A-Mole, and everybody loses....Does that make Bill and Wendy the Carnies?

6 feet isn't just a measurement.. it's language. it means tall I'm 5'9" and no one has ever called me tall, with or without shoes. I'm either called average or short. Certainly no one has ever estimated me at 6 feet. Never. I wish they would This is over the course of my entire life. It's very difficult for me to imagine 3 or more people thinking I could be as tall as 6 feet within the course of a few hours.

You’re basically 5’9. Do you think you could possibly estimate someone is 6’1 when they’re really the same height as you are? Likewise, there’s no way if you saw me or Dave that you could possibly mistake us for being your height. We’d be notably taller than you. And if Tina was willing to estimate Cooper as much as 4 inches taller than her, then in her mind he was notably taller. Concerning Cooper seated, if anything, this would lead people would led people to underestimate his height. When people saw Cooper seated he was “slouching” (Gregory) or “bending over” (Tina). You just can’t get a very accurate measure of someone seated. Look at the people who we know saw Cooper standing. The only one who didn’t go at least as high as 6’ is Lysne, and we know he’s not a good witness, by his own admission. Not interested in debating an inch or two, but literally all 3 stews went up to six feet tall. Reckon anyone has ever thought you were six feet tall or even six one? Hard to imagine. If a compelling suspect was 5’9, I’d be a bit leery, but I wouldn’t dismiss them outright. 5’8? I just can’t go there. It’s why I could never go all in on Braden. Highly unlikely people could have thought he was 6’. I already have a hard time imaging someone 5’9 being estimated at 6’ by multiple people. 5’8? No way. And for future reference, heights and weights on those WWII draft cards would not have been self reported, at least not for the most part. Your height and weight mattered to the military. They measured you in your barefeet. This is why you see so many draft records that have heights like “6’1 1/4” or “5’10 3/4”. Oh, and Flo actually had already seen Cooper standing when she was sent to the cockpit. She checked him in at the aft stairs as he boarded.

Women's rights advocates have gathered almost a million signatures to put a "reproductive freedom" measure on the ballot in Florida, where it will be voted on in the next election. If passed it would undo the abortion ban that Florida republicans instituted last year. Of course, the conservative state attorney general is fighting to keep it off the ballot, since nothing scares republicans more than a free election.

That's...exactly the same as moving goalposts. Do you hear yourself?

The resignation of Mr. LaPierre, the National Rifle Association’s longtime leader, came as he faced a corruption trial in Manhattan. Thoughts and prayers.

    Same argument for religion really.

Agreed - although for 90% of the industries out there, the conversion to EV will not be difficult. That's also fine. The next generation is growing up in a world where EVs are a thing, and for many, the only vehicle they will know. They'll treat gas cars the way we treat diesel cars (or rotary engine cars) nowadays - as an option, but not something one would normally buy unless they had a specific reason. The important thing isn't to get everyone driving an EV right now. The important thing is to move away from burning fossil fuels over time. If in 10 years we get to only 50% of new sales being electrified that's a good thing overall - for several reasons.

Oh, those sound good to me. But then I'm afraid I find it hard even to use the word "theory" for that, as it widens its meaning hugely, and as far as I'm concerned, unacceptably. Wendy P.

Goal posts on wheels, SOP for some of the naysayers.

Interesting question. I suppose that there may be a distinction between sleuth and researcher, although one can easily be both. When I hear sleuth, I think of someone that is actively trying to solve the case, while a researcher may not have that as their prime objective. Both would be better served to be considered an expert as well, though there have been many over the years that I would certainly hesitate to call an expert. I do not consider myself to be any of the above. Sometimes I feel like I know less about the case now than I did when I first stumbled into the vortex.

Absolutely, nothing spells ultimate failure in business like building market share.

I'm pleased to say that a new law in Illinois (where abortion is safe and legal) prevents providing vehicle license plate information to any state if the request is due to an attempt by said state to prevent a woman to coming to IL to obtain an abortion.

I had a friend who served 6 months for protesting at the School of the Americas. It was no joke. Wendy P.
