3 pointsIn Biden's case there IS NO EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY. NONE. I have no idea why you brought the Dotard into here. The two of them do not compare. Not at all.
-
3 pointsI will interpret that as you are admitting you have no real basis to accuse Joe Biden of corruption. You are just another right winger expressing your "feels".
-
2 pointsAh, so you're one of those Republican parrots. This is one of those things that has been so thoroughly dismantled as an anti-Biden story for anyone willing to engage their own brain for all of ten seconds that it's just not worth anyone's time to explain it to you again. You're clearly never going to change your mind no matter what anyone says.

2 pointsI have learned things here, or at least become more aware and understanding of some other points of view. Even if I still disagree with that point of view, I may learn that it isn't as unreasonable as I first thought. It's difficult to discuss some topics at work, and anyway people at work (and my friends too) mostly are academics, and so they tend to lean a certain way. There are a couple who are quite conservative, but I learned long ago that it is best to avoid discussing certain topics with them, and we get along well as long as those topics are avoided. Same-sex marriage, for example, has nothing to do with my work, so it would be stupid to wreck a friendly and productive work partnership over an irrelevant disagreement where we will never change each other's minds. For the same reason I would never bring up these topics at the drop zone. On the other hand I can come to Speaker's Corner and hear a variety of opinions about a lot of topics from people who are for the most part well read and quite articulate. Sometimes quite amusing as well! Even BH occasionally prompts me to go look things up and develop a counter-argument, even if I don't always end up posting it. A very few people would post nothing but irritating drivel, but putting them on "ignore" makes the place much more entertaining.

2 pointsJust like Rudy Giuliani's trial for defamation, where he repeatedly kept holding presser's outside the courthouse, announcing he was going to prove his accusations against the plaintiff's were true...then never testified, and the trial has now gone to the jury.
-
2 pointsI know a couple of people who admitted (one on the forum and one to me in a PM) to being convinced to modify their views based on arguments in here. No, it wasn’t “the Wendy show;” I had nothing to do with one, and only some with the other. But I do know that I’ve learned things here, and I like that. Wendy P.

2 pointsA complete waste of time and resources the do nothing party strikes again nothing that will help the average American citizen nothing to help the economy jus payin their respects to the orange Jesus they could investigate Jared lushness and find out how easily he was bought by the saudis he makes bank for arranging the Donald’s trip to visit Saudi Arabia and party in the deasert and receive a cool sword that he probably took to his racketeering headquarters in Florida where he mishandled classifi d material far worse than Hilary Clinton was accused of doing the republicans never holler lock him up at his rally because they are all America hating traitors
-
1 pointHis legal team made one fatal mistake: "If the jury awards Freeman and Moss what they are seeking, his lawyer, Joseph Sibley said, it "will be the end of Mr. Giuliani."" I think the jury heard that and immediately said "OK!"
-
1 pointA jury in Washington, D.C., has ordered Rudy Giuliani to pay $148 million to two former Georgia election workers who became the targets of violent threats after he accused them of manipulating ballots in the 2020 election. U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell determined that Giuliani was liable for defamation and that he had engaged in a conspiracy to defame Ruby Freeman and daughter Shaye Moss.

1 pointIf the choice is binary, either someone is absolutely perfect or irredeemably corrupt, it seems only perhaps Winsor passes the test. As an imperfect person, I tend to see shades between the two extremes.
-
1 pointAt us, to us, when the perch is so high the words get blown by the wind.
-
1 pointNot so, they have mountains of evidence, they keep telling us! For instance Comer knows that Hunter's checks to Joe aren't really loan repayments. He knows this because when he lent his teenage daughter a little bit of emergency spending money in college he never asked for it back Therefore if Biden had lent his 50 year old son money for rent and to buy a car he definitely wouldn't have asked for it back either. That's ironclad evidence, sheeple!
-
1 pointWhy post at all if you refuse to actually say anything? I hope your back's ok after moving those goalposts so fast.
-
1 pointI've stated in the past that SC has helped me adjust many of my views on things. We all live in an echo chamber. Step out of your comfort zone and you might find your views change too.
-
1 pointSo far, EVERY person called to testify in front of the committee has said (under oath) that Biden has done nothing that merits impeachment. I'm reminded of the old joke where a witness is being sworn in for testimony during a trial. Upon being asked to tell 'the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth', the witness points at both the prosecutor and defense attorney and replies "I will if they will".

1 pointBut only the brain of a delusional you would think that's what's just happened. Ohio received $140 million of the $7.5 billion federal pool and has used around $18 million of it to create these new stations. Companies like Pilot Travel Centers, TH Midwest, Francis Energy, Meijer Stores, EVgo Services, ChargeNet Stations, and Equilon/Shell have all teamed up to pitch in $6 million as well. You mentioned something about reality earlier in the thread - maybe try joining us in it one day?
-
1 pointI honestly have no idea who we would be helping here. I know we help some people in the S+T and Incidents forum; I've heard from some of those people personally. But this forum? I don't think it helps anyone. It's entertainment. At best someone might see something from a new perspective (I have on occasion) but that certainly isn't the goal. I did an experiment a while back where you could add [ON TOPIC[ to any thread and I would moderate it so as to remove any trolling/off topic posting but no one was very interested in that. My conclusion is that most people are here for fun - to talk to other people about random stuff and vent their spleen over the latest outrage. And if that ability makes people feel just a little better? That's reason enough for the forum, even if we aren't dealing with the "big problems" of the world. I do that every day; this place is more for fun than anything to further saving the world.
-
1 pointIt is not the beliefs or the positions taken that cause me to turn away. It is the redundant daily new topics, the style, and the ridicule of others that I won't tolerate. The frequent time outs come for a good reason.
-
1 pointHi Bill, Me thinks you ask too much. Jerry Baumchen PS) Actually, let the idiot talk; it works so well against him.
-
1 pointHi folks, A sign of the times: I saw my first Amazon delivery EV truck today. The times, they are a-changin. Jerry Baumchen

1 pointAnd 97% of people are straight! But listening to conservatives you'd think the sky was falling due to all the gay people gaying up things and shoving it down their throats. And 99% of people are cis! But again, the #1 threat to our kids is trans sickos reading to our kids in libraries, according to the right wing. Trannies are the biggest threat, NOT GUNS!
-
1 pointIf you have to ask, you haven't been paying attention.
-
1 pointThat's a piece of cake! Put a satellite in orbit and have a free-spinning magnet in the center. It will spin once an orbit to align with the Earth's magnetic field.
-
1 point?? I read the whole thing and agreed with most of it. I disagreed with the 100 amp comment, which was the part I responded to. A 100 amp service is enough for a small house with a heat pump and an EV charger.
-
1 pointImagine it's a Friday afternoon, you want to make it to the DZ so you get in your car and . . . out of gas. The nearest gas station is two miles away. Unlike an EV that you can just plug into your house, that gas car is going nowhere until you hoof it to a gas station. So you find a container, make the two mile walk, get a few gallons of gas, hoof it back, put the gas in, drive to the gas station, get more gas, get on the road and get to the DZ - just as the last load is taking off. You watch all your friends jump as you sit on the ground, frustrated and angry. Your gas car just screwed you.

1 pointHey, Skydive Saulgau (Caravan) - usually they operate on weekends (depending on the weather of course - check their fB) Parandon (Illertissen, close to Ulm) (Caravan) - usually they operate on weekends (depending on the weather of course - check their FB/ there's a Whatsapp group ) FSC Calw (Caravan) Günzburg (Porter) Southside Base (Porter)

1 pointalright, I think I got it to work, scraping is brittle and a bit tedious. The attached kmz has about a 1000 dropzones. Some DZs didn't have coordinates or I couldn't parse them and they ended up at 0,0. I grouped them by country as they were in DZ.com. There is no additional metadata other than the name of each DZ, I might add a url back to its DZ.com page but I probably won't. As someone pointed out, this data is probably from 10-15 years ago. google earth can be found at https://earth.google.com/ dropzones-full.kmz

1 pointThere seems to be one called 'Blue Sky Adventures' aka Skydive Stuttgart. Looks like they may be a weekends only operation. e-mail info@skydive-stuttgart.de.
