3 pointsSo you're part of the lefties' war on Toyotathon!?!?!?! Let's not lose sight of the reason for the season!
-
3 pointsWell, we almost lost Dubya to a pretzel, so there is hope.

2 pointsWhen you say things like that, it's unclear if you're just trolling, or really are capable of missing the point so completely.

2 pointsI volunteer at a cat rescue, and we get tons of donations via Amazon. But the guy pulls up in the alley, parks and rings the bell for the back door. I help bring all the stuff in, thank him and close the door. We likely have a couple of these around, I'm just not in a position to notice that they're electric. I will pay more attention now. And I've joined the 'battery club'. Picked up a Chevy Bolt at the beginning of November. Got a 240v level 2 charger installed a week or so later. It's very different, pretty weird. It takes a fair amount of 'getting used to'. But it's cool as all hell, even if it's kind of a 'dorkmobile'. Going from my 05 Porsche Cayenne Turbo to the electric Bolt is a bit of a jump, although the Bolt can launch almost as well as the Cayenne. It also handles VERY well on corners, mainly due to the weight of the battery pack being at the bottom of the car. Best part is the cost. I've gone from ~14mpg (premium) to about 4 miles per kWh. Premium is just dropping below $4/gal around here. Electricity runs about $0.11/kWh. Eleven cents. I commute about 44 miles round trip to hang out with the cats, and in the Cayenne, it would be $10 or $12 in gas. In the Bolt, it takes about 11kWh (according to the dashboard) for the same trip. A buck and a quarter. The colder weather (and it's not really cold here yet) will take a toll, but I don't see any real issues. I don't drive far enough to need anywhere near max range, so that won't be a problem.

2 pointsI saw an MSNBC interview where the person said it is not that Biden is too old, rather that he is an 'Old School Politician' and that fails to resonate with younger voters. By removing age from the equation, it does remove what is currently the biggest issue that has some credibility. Of course any other candidate will always bring other criticisms, such as Trump has experience and they don't etc. It's a bit sad that Republicans aren't speaking out and even Bush etc not adding their voices to the concern. The only 2 high profile voices I have heard are Cheney and Christie. It would help the situation if Trump chocked on a chicken nugget though! Or get him to bungee jump with his weight recorded as 215lbs.

1 pointD'oh! We'll see if the democratic-majority senate will do the right thing in this case.

1 pointPerhaps it's asking too much of the Founding Fathers to have anticipated modern weaponry when all their experience was with muskets. I'm quite sure I would not be up to proposing laws to govern use of technology 200 years in the future. Also, at the first census in 1790 the total US population was 3.9 million, of whom 20% were slaves, and mostly people lived in rural areas, not cities. School shootings and other mass murders were non-existent, and I doubt anyone could have anticipated the modern US fascination with guns for guns' sake. In the Founding Fathers day guns were utilitarian tools, like plows and axes, not objects of worship as they are to so many today. Our modern problem with guns is a creature of our own manufacture. There is also a problem that it has become all but impossible to amend the constitution. Again that is not the Founding Fathers fault. They created a system to amend the constitution, and for centuries that was done not infrequently. It was never easy, but if an idea had widespread popular support it could be done. In the last 50+ years it has become effectively impossible to amend, largely due to entrenched political polarization in a two-party system. The interpretation of the 2nd amendment has changed radically in recent decades, away from a view that ties it to participation in militias towards an absolutist right of virtually anyone (including mentally ill people who legally cannot even manage their own financial affairs) to own weapons of almost any description. Most people support some limitations, such as background checks, but it is politically impossible to amend the 2nd to allow any constraints, even if they are widely supported.

1 pointRemember how long "the science" said that those substances weren't addictive? Inexpensive only because the waste cost is eaten by the taxpayers as a whole and by the climate. Kind of like plastic trash -- it's only cheap as long as there's enough land for landfill. Then all of a sudden we have garbage barges looking for somewhere to put their stuff, or incineration plants, always conveniently located next to poorer neighborhoods so that the "real taxpayers' kids" don't get asthma. 1 pointSTILL WAITING.... for anything to happen. Reminder that this has been going on for YEARS and YEARS and still no connection to Joe Biden. Nothing, nada, zip, zero, zilch, fuck all..... absolutely NOTHING worthy of a criminal referral nor an impeachment. But everry time they open their mouths about it, the headline it 'investigation is advancing...', but if you read past the headlines, the details are a giant nothing..... It only took the Justice Departments (federal and state), less than 2 years to come up with 91 felony indictments for ACTUAL crimes committed by the ACTUAL former president, NOT his family, or his brother, or his son, etc. Either there is no evidence of any crime by Joe Biden, or the republicans are so fucking INCOMPETENT that they cannot find it. I will even let you choose which one. Go ahead.

1 pointYour strawmen are getting sick of your misuse of them. Be careful lest they revolt, and you find yourself left with only the more pedestrian and less effective bogeymen.

1 pointThat does seem odd. In normal operations, it would fall on somebody else to open and close it for boarding, and even in an emergency landing situation where they'd need emergency egress, the stews would likely get to it first. But as R99 said, they'd surely be briefed on it, and most of them would likely do a walk-through and get familiar with everything like that. Maybe over time and routine they'd sort of forget about it, but a lot of pilots pride themselves on authority and control, and would keep up on all potential emergency procedures.

1 pointAnd there is no doubt he will do that. To me the US ballot in 2024 isn't Trump vs Biden but Trump vs Democracy. Unfortunately I am not convinced Democracy will win the election.

1 pointIt "indicates" people change their "comments" over time when talking to different people in different settings. Exactly what you would expect. Original impressions immediately after an event are usually the best ie most reliable? People alter their stories over time. You always want perfection. That is seldom how people are over time. Likewise, people being interviewed are sometimes lead to stray or change their stories = the power of the interviewer. Like some guy implying he could feel how the money was wrapped by how it it allegedly felt in his groin? That is pure Blevens crap.
