As that group expands, it is going to pull in more cranks, kooks, crazies, and those folks who are very new to the case, yet very opinionated about it. I think EU wants it that way: more and more people, so those issues are going to get worse unless he decides to do something about it. In the meantime, I'd like to see the private Research Group become an oasis for smart, serious, affable researchers. I'd love for you to be more active on there, P-Head.

Almost. Just "they identify as female", at the end there. The fundamental grammar doesn't change, using "they" still modifies the other words the same way it always did in English. Easiest way I find for people to get comfortable with it is to assume you have no idea of the sex/gender of the person you're talking about (e.g. someone mentions their cousin is coming to a party, but gives no more info than that). If you need to refer to them now, it's pretty automatic - "What time are they coming? Can they bring a plate?", etc etc.

Because a bunch of rich white men some 236 years ago didn't think womens' bodies were their own to control but muzzle loading muskets were cool.

I wanted to add to this comment of mine, that bringing in many new people to the case isn't at all a bad thing. It also brings in bright people with varied backgrounds and fresh perspectives. Unfortunately, for every one of them, we get three cranks, two kooks, and one crazy.

My son and I are worlds apart in terms of religious beliefs, he's a devout christian and I'm best described as Pagan. One thing that we both agree on is that hypocrisy is both lazy and weak. Secondly, the inability to apply critical thinking seems to be a pandemic these days. The blinkered my guys are saints and yours are sinners attitude harks back to the dawn of time. I'm pretty sure if Jesus was in the US, the vast majority of republicans would want him shot and deported back to Mexico.
