And, another one rolls over: Trump co-defendant Kenneth Chesebro strikes plea deal with Georgia prosecutors

Trump bring threatened with jail time for violating the Gag Order. Couldn't happen to a more treasonous criminal. I may need to get a nice bottle of celebration whiskey for the day our Justice system protects our democracy by putting Trump's fat orange ass in prison for the rest of his life.

Swing and a miss. Shouldn't it be "three strikes and you're out"? I wish some Republican who isn't MAGA-crazy would throw their hat in the ring. Someone who could get votes from both sides, enough to total 217. It would have to be someone who isn't planning on running for re-election though, unfortunately. Too bad Mitt Romney is in the Senate. It says a lot that for Republicans it's career suicide to try to work across the aisle.

Same point you are making about Ukraine invasion, Israel and Hamas conflict happening on Biden's watch.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out for Matt Gaetz. If this turns into the speaker fiasco going on for weeks, does he become a Republican hero or zero? Not MAGA, because they all love the chaos, but real GOPers. I think he may have committed political suicide unintentionally. But who knows in this upside down political era.

You made a very incorrect statement that I don't like to answer questions. The reality is that I refuse to get suckered into dead-end conversations with the "yeah, but" crowd. Look through the forums and you will see that I answer questions routinely for anyone with a desire to have a sincere conversation on any subject. When I sat down to write this, I planned to address your post in great detail. After re-reading my own words, I've changed my mind. I will not take the bait. You know as well as I do that there is no acceptable level of injuries or fatalities in skydiving. There is no skydiving discipline designed or intended as a tool for growth, so making a connection between them and any intended promotional value is a false narrative. Here are the facts: CP is a legitimate, internationally recognized discipline. In accordance with USPA bylaws, we support all ISC recognized disciplines. CP is dangerous. Statistically it's more dangerous than other skydiving disciplines. Welcome to reality. All forms of skydiving are dangerous. I wholeheartedly support all of them. Finally, you suggested that I must either believe that CP injuries and fatalities are "worth it", or that I haven't "actually thought about it seriously". Brother, you are way off base. There is NOTHING in skydiving that I haven't thought about seriously. Pretty much every moment of every day. Anyone who knows me and my priorities knows that. Five left and cut.

The GOP is like, “We’ve got to protect our phony baloney jobs, gentlemen! We must do something about this immediately, immediately, immediately! HARRUMPF! HARRUMPF! HARRUMPF! And Matt Gaetz says, “I didn’t get a HARRUMPF from that guy!”

That was to tie the reserve container to the harness so it didn't flop around in freefall. The main structural connection is the two metal clips that attach to the D-rings on the harness. In the original designs, there were either two more clips/rings, or a sort of thread through belt to hold the container still, but as more types of containers were built, those either didn't mix/match or disappeared altogether, so they just started tying them down as such. Again, that was NOT the structural attachment of the reserve container or canopy to the main harness, it just held the container still. I'm not a rigger, so I can't really detail that out for you, but you might PM either JerryBaumchen or riggerrob on here. If you can find 'Dan Poynter's The Parachute Manual' online, that might have such info. That book is considered kind of a 'bible' for riggers. dudeman17

It may be harsh, but at this point I think any US citizen (even if they are a dual citizen) who travels to Russia or Iran or North Korea and is taken hostage should be on their own. No way the US should allow itself keep being put on the defensive by such reckless people. It sucks to be unable to visit family, but lots of people get put in that position and deal with it. If someone takes that risk and it blows up in their face they need to own it. There have been plenty of examples of things going sideways, so no-one can claim they didn't know the risks, especially a journalist.

An actual quote from Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY): republicans are acting “very childish, that people are just throwing out random names. Like, this is serious. This is the United States Congress,. We’re trying to elect a speaker, and you’re just like throwing out, like, random names of people who are not running or are not even members of the House.” Like totally!

78 years ago a great wrong of biblical proportions was done to the Jewish people by Western European civilization. Then a second wrong was done to eastern civilization supported by the west in an attempt to make two wrongs equal a right. With God on our side.

Some of my posts here may have given the impression that I am sympathetic to Hamas. I am not. They are cruel and wrong, especially now. I am however sympathetic to what caused Hamas to be who they are today.

Incredible. Also this from another report - "Trump and Pratt developed a relationship after Trump won power in 2016 and Pratt joined Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s members club in Florida. In 2019, Trump attended the opening of a Pratt Industries plant in Wapakoneta, Ohio, also attended by Scott Morrison, then the Australian prime minister." For everyone up in arms about the unsubstantiated allegations that Hunter Biden tried to get his dad on the phone with people who'd given him money - this guy paid a ton of money directly to Donald Trump's own business after Donald Trump was elected President, and in return he received nuclear secrets and an official visit from 2 world leaders to his business. And that's just what we know of.

Usually jump a Competition Cobalt 85. Demoed a Katana 97 and 83. 83 opened and flew much better. Basically it flies better at 1.9-2.0+ Put 25 jumps on each canopy. Review is based on the Katana 83. Packing- Trash pack. Shake it out-No flaking. Shuffle nose in a little bit. Pull slider Out Opening- Sweet smooth on heading. Not too fast but not slow. Never wanted to spin up or jerk me around. Easy to steer during snivel using harness unput. Smooth opening for such an agressive canopy. Flight- Very steep trim. Canopy wants to be on the ground. Long spots are a little trouble because it still sinks in brakes or on rears. Cant hang out and wait for others to land- Falls out of the sky too fast. Very stable and fun to fly. Fairly hard to stall using toggles. Hard to stall on rear risers. Not super fast responsive but thats good. Makes for smooth flying. Any more responsive would be too much on such an agressive canopy. Landing- Very light front riser pressure and moderate rear riser pressure. Harder to plane out using rears that my Competition Cobalt. Keeps speed and a dive very well. Swooping into the wind is no problem- Cuts right through the wind. On the 83 loaded at 2.0+ started 360 turn at 800-1000ft. Dives like crazy. Come out of turn at 200+ feet and put pressure on rears right away. Planes out very nicely on rears using this technique. If you are late on the rears use toggles because it will not plane out right away on rear risers. Can hold double fronts to keep in a dive if needed. Not a forgiving canopy. Has good flare. Not quite as much flare as my Cobalt and Competition Cobalt. At higher speeds and correct dive altitudes there is much more flare. Lower speed- Decent flare. (Enough to have a nice stand up but you can feel the need for more) Low turn=Not much stopping power. Dont do it because you will not pull it out of the dive even if you are deep on the toggles. 270 turn worked best for me. @600+ft Whether doing a slow carve or a fast dive swoops are great. Fast dive and then hard on rears makes for super fast swoop. Carve makes for a long smooth and fast swoop. Had to do an aviodance braked approach and landing. Landed much better than expected. Almost half brakes until full flare and it still landed me softly. Canopy can be jerky if the transition from rears to toggles is not smooth. Just fly it smoothly. Jerky Motions(Rears and toggles)=Loss of speed and shoter swoop. Not much or really any running out landings. Flies until its almost stopped. Overall- Awesome canopy. Swoop machine. If you like to open low then the spot better be good because you will be on the ground shortly. Most agressive canopy I have flown. Approaching the dive and long recovery of the Velocity. Great canopy to try with 750+ jumps and good canopy control and progression. Not a good idea if you are not current or dont have the swoops mastered on something else. Competition Cobalt is a good transition canopy to the Katana. Main negative aspect is that it doesnt fly as well at slow speeds as my Competition Cobalt. The Cobalt will continue to fly going slow and keep gliding at that slow speed. (End of a swoop) Once the Katana starts to die out it will lose the speed and the swoop is over. Still flies well at that slow speed but comes to a stop sooner. Swoops were longer in distance but seemed shorter in time than my Cobalt. Meaning it is much faster and covers ground in a swoop very fast. Great product from the best in the biz. A+ Canopy
