3 pointsGeorgia Judge Scott McAfee has ruled that proceedings for all 18 co-defendants and Trump will be streamed live on Youtube. Neato.
-
3 pointsJoseph Biggs failed to use that defense as leader of the Proud Boys. Now he has 17 years to reflect on it. The longest sentence yet for the Jan. 6th call to arms from trump next to the 18 year sentence for the oath Keepers leader.

3 pointsQuoting bible verses in an attempt to give credibility to your misplaced beliefs in neolithic myths doesn't help your case one iota. In fact it is rather pathetic.
-
3 pointsThe soldier must do what the soldier must do. Follow orders. It is not his place to determine justification.
-
3 pointsThey used to be called "crusaders" or "inquisitors". The newer term is missionary. Or in your case proselytizing pest.

2 pointsHow many funerals for pregnancies that didn't reach the point of showing have you been to? Ever tried to buy a casket for a missed period? Are you in favor of someone whose brain isn't functioning having life support withdrawn? These are some (ill)logical extensions of considering the moment of conception to be a full-up human being. Are you in favor of supporting the babies of someone who was impregnated because birth control failed? Or is it just their tough luck, and women should keep their legs together -- while men call them prick teases. Wendy P.

2 pointsDo you think specifically Christian beliefs** should drive legislation that affects non believers? ** so this excludes moral codes that are universal, like prohibitions on murder, stealing, perjury, etc. which long predate Christianity, such as found in The Book of the Dead, the Code of Hammurabi. . ..

2 points1st question: I've been to many countries on many different types of deployments. I've served in allied countries. I've served in what were classified as hostile fire zones. There have only been two times in my career when I was involved in actual combat situations. The first was when I was 21 years old during Desert Storm. However, the ground war ended so quickly that my team did not go. We were then deployed elsewhere. The second time was during Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. I was downrange September 2002 - March 2003. I watched the invasion of Iraq take place in a tent on TV. I remember thinking to myself that they'd better find WMD or they'd own this thing. I sincerely believed that it must have been there given what had happened during Desert Storm. That turned out not to be the case. I'm quite sure there were lies at high levels to justify action. I do not believe now that it was justified. Long story short in answer to your question. No. 2nd question: Yes. I was not deployed to Iraq. However, if I had been, I would have had to go and I would have done my duty.

2 pointsSee this is again where you simply don't have any basis for understanding a conversation on this topic, otherwise why would you ever have called yourself an atheist when you were not one? An atheist is not someone who has rejected god. An atheist is someone who thinks that god is not real. It's literally the only criteria.

2 pointsUs in this case is specifically normiss, who I was replying to, and myself. But yes the majority here do not want to be preached to over and over. We already have heard the "good news" and are more than a little tired of it. I fully support you right to keep on keeping on. Expect condescending comments to continue since you insist on continuing the nonsensical blather. We would do the same for anyone trying to teach us the wonders of any other religion. No one is picking on you because you are Christian. It is because you spread untruths and swear they are true.

2 pointsThe subject can bring up many emotions for people. Religious beliefs are very personal. Proselytizers like Jay seem to feel they are bringing enlightenment to us because they are so personally committed. I suppose they forget or don't realize that we have all heard these messages before, have given them very deep thought and have not come to our conclusions lightly. I doubt he can see just how insulting it is to be told that we are not worthy and therefore are going to be punished for eternity while he marches on to glory. It's okay for him to believe that, and in a forum like this it is not wrong for him to do it. Deep down I truly believe that behavior like this is more driven by the need to convince himself or his righteousness and worthiness. Even the saints have had to deal with their doubts one way or another. And there clearly is a world full of reasons to doubt.

2 pointsYes, that's my point. SAGE utilized it's own coded language, but when Spangler took that printed information, he would have, as an airman, translated it into GEOREF not MGRS.

2 pointsIn the original post: I stated Christians don't believe in democracy. Let me change that based on your replies: Christians don't want democracy. The reason is that you want a theocracy based on your religion. And you are willing to kill to get it, as it has always been.

1 pointAustralia-based SYPAQ Systems is sending low-cost drones made out of waxed cardboard to Ukrainian forces. They have destroyed a Mig-29 and at least four SU-30 aircraft. They have a range of 75 miles and have a six foot wingspan. They cost $3500 each and Australia is supplying 100 a month. The cardboard/foam construction is almost impossible to see on radar. Well Russian S-400 radar anyway. They come in a dozen per pallet packages. They have shaped downward firing shrapnel charges. Happy birthday president Putin.

1 pointHow does allowing something that you don't believe in, and don't plan to do yourself, "force" it on you? Or is it the tolerance htat's forced? Wendy P.

1 pointYeah… the thing is Only a couple of days ago you were very keen on us knowing that you “once also did not believe”. you brought it up because you want us to know that you get where we’re coming from and you’ve been there too. But you haven’t. You were never an atheist. You always believed. You are not and were not ever the same. If you think (as you appear to, and as many of you cohorts do) that you’re just further along the same sliding scale of attitudes to Jesus as we are, you couldn’t be more wrong.

1 pointPrecise to the minute time on that particular tape, not seconds... and the time may not be exactly correct. Comparing these timestamps is like herding cats.. they use different devices and recording methods, they are not synchronized with each other. How do you get an oscillation report at 8:10.. the timing device isn't precisely set or rounding to the minute. No way any of these times can be taken as "precise" to actual world atomic clock time. Ratazcak said he contacted Soderlind in the suburbs of Portland.. 5-10 minutes after the oscillations/bump..

1 pointYou could look at it that way if it makes you feel better. I'm not sure why you would be surprised that an atheist doesn't think he possess all knowledge. I don't believe in a creator of any kind. Theists do and when asked about the creation of the creator simply reply that the creator always existed. Which I see as simply an effort to remove one layer of the mystery of existence. Atheists are people who don't feel the need to fool themselves that they understand. Theists are the ones who think they possess knowledge of the unknowable. In the end we know nothing.
-
1 pointOf course not. And I don't think of you or most professed Christians as white nationalists either. But they are out there and must be guarded against. There is a lot of misunderstanding of that word. Even among people who would call themselves atheist. I am an atheist in that I believe none of the religious beliefs held by the various branches of humanity have any validity at all. They are all equally false. At the same time I feel that the very nature of my existence, and all of ours, is and shall remain an unfathomable mystery. I have learned to be fine with that because I must. You and many others have a different need. I respect that. I do not appreciate your need to change my mind and I feel no need to change yours.

1 pointWell Jay.....I'm using sarcasm to point out that the Bible is a book of fables and that relying on its words as a reference in an argument is both pointless and a little feeble. As John said.

1 pointI don’t know why these Trump lackey’s don’t use the obvious defense. They were trying to install a deranged moron as king. Insanity plea would be a slam dunk.

1 pointThis is the really weird thing, people calling themselves "saved". It sounds like a courtroom defendant calling himself "acquitted". It's not his call to make - but in this case, the judge is silent (and probably doesn't exist).

1 pointSage doesn't use GEOREF as a primary system, it tracks flying objects.. in 3 dimensional space.. extremely accurate. GEOREF is a ground locating system with only lat/long... 2 dimensions on ground and less accurate. So, the Sage data had to be converted to GEOREF (ground) at some point to mark a map. https://code7700.com/pdfs/usaf/afm_51-40_navigation.pdf https://ed-thelen.org/comp-hist/FST-2_for_SAGE_p156-Ogletree.pdf https://ed-thelen.org/comp-hist/CasteelSageRecollections.html

1 pointI'm sorry, but Christianity is the churches and the people. Christ is different, but Christianity is entirely dependent on people. It's the acceptance, by people, of the divinity of Christ, and, depending on the particular flavor, also of how literally one takes the Bible. As far as a marketing department, why else do so many churches have crosses on them, including giant ones? Wendy P.
-
1 pointBecause you ascribe to the belief and tout that it is the most important truth of the universe. Sadly, for adherents, it is being fraudulently marketed.

1 pointI think one of my favorites was a friend of mine who broke his ankle many years ago, and when asked how he had done it, he said he was out at the airport, and fell off the step of the airplane. He said he neglected to tell them that the step was 7500' off the ground Wendy P.

1 pointI haven't figured it out completely. There actually needs to be two books...one for my family, and one for jumpers. Right now I'm just writing down everything I can remember, mostly in order. I'm up to the invention of the hand deployed pilot chute. Trouble is, a lot of this stuff happened over 50 years. There were also no cell phones, so I don't have nearly enough photos to back up the stories. So I do hope other people can add some memories, insight, and photos.
