7 pointsHere’s my $0.02, for what it’s worth….if your faith makes your life better and you wanna share that then fill your fucking boots, I’m happy for you. If you want to start telling me I’m going to burn for eternity because I don’t believe in your imaginary friend, I’m happy to write you off as a person worth giving another minute of my time.

3 pointsT'aint none. Never has been, never will be. For any of them. And if you don't believe that and bow down to them, they will torture you for all eternity. This threat is why I'll never believe. I've never threatened a believer with eternal torture. Damn near every believer I've met has done that to every non-believer. Keep your beliefs to yourself. Stop the veiled threats. Stop trying to force everyone to believe in your own personal insanities. That's my belief. He doesn't have the proof for his beliefs, he never will. That's ok for him. I expect him to mock non-believers though.

2 pointsThen why are babies "tainted" with original sin? They had nothing to do with that shit. And why is everyone blamed for a mythical guy's death at the hands of the Romans? Again, the Romans should take the blame for that shit. We don't crucify people anymore.
-
2 pointsYes. Hating people simply for not believing he existed would be textbook narcissism. Punishing people for all eternity covers the second part. This is why you’ll never be able to persuade a non-believer of anything at all - you don’t even understand the terms of the conversation. Atheists don’t blame god for anything. If we did, we would be theists.

2 pointsThe inanity and stupidity of this vehement opposition to cashless bail never ceases to amaze me. It’s the perfect example of how the American right can be manipulated into opposing anything at all if they’re told it’s a liberal idea. For clarity, the purpose of the entire bail system is to let people out of jail. The only difference is that cashless bail makes those decisions on the merits of the case, not the contents of a bank account.

2 pointsI've recently spoken with a gentleman who was a SAGE radar operator in the early 70s and later became a senior director at NORAD. He gave me the full scoop on SAGE, the data used to calculate the USAF flight path map, and the process that went into its development. We no longer have to guess or speculate. I'll be sharing what he had to say as soon as I can type is all up. SPOILER ALERT: The Western Flight is DOA if it was ever alive to begin with.

2 pointsWhen you told us that we are "in trouble" for saying we don't believe. Shove it.

2 pointsMany people make the mistake of thinking I object to other’s religious beliefs. Not true at all. What I object to is the way some people behave. Especially when they try to tell others what they should believe. You are an offender on this front.

1 pointIn ten years, you haven't even found evidence in favor of the WFP, let alone proof. You have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to undermine the accepted USAF flight path, but have never once provided a shred of evidence in favor of the WFP. It's all assumptions, speculation, implication, and opinion with a dose of conspiracy theory. It's also telling how defensive you get without even knowing what my information is. You have lost all impartiality. Now, I think we have the information to plug all the holes you have tried to exploit for your own ends. I know that may create cognitive dissonance for you, and I apologize in advance.

1 pointHi jakee, I am no expert on religion for sure. However, this comment is directly opposite of what I was taught 60+ yrs ago: Who has led a proper and pious life according to God's standard of righteousness, which is the one you will ultimately be judged by, one without even an once of selfishness, pride, covetousness, hatred, adultery, lies, etc.? It was 1956 & I was taking a Bible Study class with my brother. My brother spent his time in class chatting up the girls, I spent my time 'discussing' religion with the pastor. I specifically remember him telling me that I could live a wild & crazy, sinful, wicked life, but, if I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior prior to my death, I would enter the Kingdom of God. THAT is when I called it quits on the stupidity of it. Different strokes for different folks. Jerry Baumchen

1 pointHe's describing a piece of land very broadly to a national audience 50 years after the fact. It's unlikely he remembers any specifics and even if he did it's unlikely he'd be dropping names like "La Center" or "Ariel" or "Orchards" in a national publication when he's just speaking generally about an area. Plus it sounds like he's speaking north to south, not east to west.
-
1 pointHe is stating that by command of a god no human is born innocent but instead are sin criminals; scapegoats for a supreme being who are further commanded to fix themselves before the penalty for simply coming into existence gets a whole lot worse. Furthering the misery is the knowledge that your sinful existence is a consequence of your mother engaging in perfectly natural activities that few amongst us have the will power to resist. Such twisted thinking is obvious nonsense to anyone not brainwashed to receive it as knowledge.

1 pointAnd it’s equally why an atheist doesn’t do much good telling a believer about their beliefs, either. To me, the discussion of theology as an intellectual construct is just fine. As a discussion of what’s right and what’s wrong, that’s a little more arrogant — because it’s saying that a wise human knows God. And if God is as far from our plane as all of the divine scriptures make them appear, then we don’t know shit. What I know is the amorphous mess that feels comfortable to me, and I know that’s all it is. Wendy P.

1 pointLately, where I live there’s been a contentious school board issue. Things have gotten testy, and now several members of the school board have resigned due to relentless personal attacks and threats. I’m saying this because lately in here the line between calling someone’s argument wrong and calling them an asshole has gotten to be very fine indeed. And while there are other venues where anything goes, this still isn’t one of them. Sangiro said to consider it as though it were his porch. That still applies. Attack the idea, not the person. And it’s better to come up with an actual countering argument, instead of did not-did too, or nyah-nyah-nyah Wendy P.

1 pointAnd a good morning to you. I’m sitting out on a dock, looking at a pond, so it is a good morning Wendy P.

1 pointWhat, exactly, would be 'worse'? Not being snarky, genuinely curious. After the Jan 6 fiasco, I highly doubt the DC folks would give Trump or his minions a permit for a rally. If they did, or if it looked like Trump was going to hold one anyway, then I'd bet heavily there would be adequate security at the Capitol. And for the "base", I think they've at least sort of noticed that well over 1000 people have been indicted for the Jan 6 shit. Trump didn't lift a finger to help them. I don't think he even acknowledged them. All of the "pro-Drumph" rallies in New York, Florida, DC & Georgia have been 'lackluster' at best. The people cheering for the courts have had much bigger crowds. And that in itself is telling. The MAGA morons have been classic bullies. Nobody stood up to them for a long time. But people have started to. The "Proud Boy" shitheads got their asses handed to them in Brooklyn... By a bunch of drag queens. If the MAGA idiots think they can start a civil war, let them. A couple will get killed, and the rest will run for their lives. Cameras will record the insurrectionists, crowd sourcing will get most of them arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced... Again.

1 pointI’m not even American and yet I seem to have more faith in your system than many here. It will be fine. Most of the nutters have no guts to do anything anyway.
