Like a drunk using a light post. More for support than illumination.

I'd have requested Jan 6, but I guess Saturdays are out.

Youtube isn't a source, it is a video hosting website. I prefer to read and track down the actual source of the information. So, do you have a source for your claim?

I know! And no one could have foreseen that adopting building codes that prevented damage in high winds or earthquakes would end up, you know, preventing damage in high winds or earthquakes! It's just so shocking; unthinkable even. And aviation! I mean, sure, when designers began designing safer, more capable aircraft, everyone thought it would make for good ads. No one thought it would make them safer, or more capable, in dangerous weather! And when they started using better and better radar and satellite systems to forecast weather and delineate areas of dangerous turbulence or icing, we were all shocked when the accidents due to turbulence and icing went down. The world is just an unpredictable, confusing place to conservatives.

I know I am going to regret asking, but is there any way you could provide some evidence of this, that isn't a youtube video?

Climate change as we understand it is not an existential threat to the human race. It is an existential threat to millions of humans both currently existing humans and potential humans.

Here is the full quote. Another reason why videos aren't a good "source" for your information. Simple minds are too easily duped. "One of the things I’m always asked is: You know, why — why Americans have sort of lost faith for a while on being — being able to do big things. “If you could do anything at all, Joe, what would you do?” I said, “I’d cure cancer.” And they looked at me like, “Why cancer?” Because no one thinks we can. That’s why. And we can. We can end cancer as we know it. "

This is my only concern on the issue. As for Kallend's question about how this relates to healthcare for children: if the trans kids would be allowed to use puberty blockers (like some elite athletes, like female gymnasts, already do) and hormone replacement, then they could choose to complete surgery as an adult without having gone through a puberty in the wrong body. Trans women who have not grown up with testosterone, steroids, or any other performance enhancing chemical that a cis woman athlete would be banned for taking, would be on an even level with their competition. Note: I studied physics, not biology and human development. If I am missing something, I more than welcome another perspective! This is just my reaction based on what I know. Happy to be convinced otherwise.

That’s crazy. I can kind of understand the ‘what have you done for me lately’ mindset, but going back to Trump and the other complicit Republicans is more like ‘what haven’t you stolen from me lately’! I also don’t get how bad the centre and left media is about generating outrage over real scandals when we keep seeing what the right can do with nothing but innuendo. Why isn’t Jared and Ivanka’s nepotism and corruption shouted about every day? Why isn’t the Supreme Court corruption scandal shouted about every day? Why aren’t the ongoing efforts of the GOP to give themselves a legal framework to actually overturn elections in the way that Trump attempted to shouted about every day? Its mind boggling.

I thought this description of Trump's humor from a British writer was spot on: While Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.
