What he was ACCUSED of doing. Other than racist's accusations after the fact, to "justify" his heinous murder, I don't believe there was proof of ANY wrong doing. Simply looking at another human is in no way grounds for murder, at least to any decent human.

I had all the skydiving magazines printed. I gave them to another skydiver who had sort of his own little collection of skydiving stuff. I kept the very first issue that Mike Truffer was handing out at one of the Skydiving Nationals.

Well that’s an obvious lie designed to deflect criticism of racism. It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that the above conclusions are only possible if you accept the words of two heinous racist murderers as being implicitly true. I wonder what else could be classed as suicide using the same logic though? Beaten woman tries to leave her husband? Suicide. Firefighter in a burning building? Suicide. Shopkeeper tries to stop paying protection to the mob? Suicide. Every Iranian protester this year? Suicide. Any American soldier in a foreign field? Suicides all of them. Thank goodness there are some people in this world who, unlike Winsor, are willing to stand up for themselves even when someone or something makes it dangerous.

It's not really about what skydivers are willing to pay. It's about selling tandem rides to the public like carnival rides. If skydiving went back to a thing that was done for recreation by people with a passion for it there would not be a push for commercial operating rules. Go to any website for any DZ and see who this is being marketed to.

Rooting around in the closet recently found a November 1991 issue of Skydiving. In it was a several page report on the 1991 Nationals which I competed in. Right next to it was the issue of Parachutist covering the same. Skydiving covered the Nationals with more detail and in depth than USPAs own Parachutist. Was sad to see it go. Doubt print would even be a starter today.
