It would be, Trump would be in pre-trial detention right now if that were the case.

The thing is that the more people there are, then the larger number of them who impact others. Is it OK to drive an unmuffled Harley down the street at 6:00AM? Is it OK to loudly comment on someone who isn’t talking to you to speak English because they’re in America (that’s happened to me). Is it OK to want to legislate so that you, personally, are always comfortable, even if it means that plenty of other people have to modify their behavior (like, for instance, sodomy laws between consenting adults)? Is it OK to say that since your religion forbids certain behaviors, others must also abstain? I don’t think so, personally. I think that consideration is a two-way street, and that I should always think I’m giving more, because kind of like in marriage, if each person thinks they’re giving more than 50%, then most of the stuff is getting done. And the horse he rode into town on....

Yep. A lot of black kids were told that circa 1950. A lot of gay people were told that circa 1990. Specifically I think Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Harvey Milk and Ruby Bridges were all told to stay where they belonged. Personally I am glad they did not dodge the drama. I think we are all better off for their efforts to not stay in their lanes.

Donald Trump is on a long, winding road, rather than the express lane but they both lead to the same place.....PRISON. if the express lane lead to his freedom, he would be on it.....and he's not.

And they would not have invited him to appear at the courthouse; They would have kicked in the door at Mar-a-Lago at 0500, and taken him into custody immediately.

To be clear, I am 100% following the guidance of my surgeon and my physical therapist, as frustrating as that guidance may be. (I just walked a 5k this past weekend while wearing my sling for the first time in 2 weeks, so yes, I am taking this seriously.) That said, at the 5 or 6 month point if they both agree that the tendons have sufficiently healed and I have regained sufficient strength and mobility in the shoulder to safely return to skydiving for a few jumps before the rainy season begins, then I am inclined to go for it. I've accepted the fact that I'll never be able to get back to a 375 bench press (how I tore my shoulder to begin with) and that my competitive powerlifting career is over. I'm okay with the idea that it'll be sometime next summer before I'll be back on my mountain bike, and I'll never be able to hit the hardest trails like I have in the past. I'm rapidly closing in on 50 years old and I realize I can't keep acting like I'm an indestructible 20 year old, especially since I don't ever want to go through a rehab like this again. But I'm also not going to give up activities that my surgeon says I'm capable of doing relatively safely. There has to be some degree of balance in life, right?

I just figured that if you tell other people to stay in their swim lane, you would also stay in your swim lane. I do realize that expecting some intellectual honesty might be a bit much.

That'll be helpful. Nothing like having a narrow, bigoted point of view, posed as education and then force fed by an irrefutable authority figure.

The whole idea of pardoning ones self is lunacy. If POTUS can pardon himself, that means he is literally a king. Commit a coup? No problem, just pardon himself, and he is absolved of the crime, AND he can be POTUS/king for life. Best solution is to abolish the power of pardons entirely. The fact a corrupt POTUS can dangle pardons as a reward for helping him commit crime, FAR outweighs any good it can do.

He’s saying he never just pulled the straight party ticket. Which is definitely one step up. But it could be that almost always Republicans align better with his values, just as liberals generally align with mine. But I happily voted for our former governor, a Republican, just as I happily voted for Kay Bailey Hutchinson, among others over the years Wendy P.

dozens of felony counts. Trump is not walking away from this with no convictions. Pardons still mean you are guilty, so they don't mean shit to anyone with a fucking brain. He's a fucking crook. he always was. He's a fucking con man. He always was. Arguably he is guilty of sedition, given the Seditious conspiracy convictions of Jan 6 already... and that may be coming yet. 6 dozen felony counts might give the other prosecutors the balls to proceed as well. This is as close to actual treason as we could find if there is ever evidence that he shared any docs with a foreign entity. Fuck that seditious cunt. fuck anyone that supports that seditious cunt at this point. Stop making excuses for the worst president we have ever had in the white house. There is no comparison to this fucking mutt of a human being. When he dies (and he will someday) I will be hosting a neighborhood BBQ and open an 18 year old bottle of single malt. that.....fucking....seditious.....cunt.....
