5 pointsAnalysis of the revenue generated by IRS audits vs. the cost of those audits. https://policyimpacts.org/research/67/a-welfare-analysis-of-tax-audits-across-the-income-distribution?itid=lk_inline_enhanced-template Bottom line - the $20B the GOP cut from the IRS budget likely will cost the USA some $240B in lost revenue. So much for the GOP lip service about deficits and the debt.

4 pointsThe problem is that those types of people aren't being ignored. They're being actively discriminated against. They're being denied care. And it's costing lives.
-
4 pointsYou mean she should fit your preconception, I imagine. So my friend who was born with both a penis (and balls) and a vagina (along with ovaries and uterus) wouldn’t fit your preconception, either, right? Would you agree more with her parents’ decision (to remove the female bits and raise as a boy because that’s what they wanted — she went on to an Army Special Forces career), or with her own adult-made decision, to live the rest of her life as the woman she always felt like? Yes, surgery and all Not everyone fits into the standard boxes. The problem is that those people still exist, and simply ignoring their reality isn’t much different from ignoring someone simply because they’re darker than you Wendy P

3 pointsThe whole idea of pardoning ones self is lunacy. If POTUS can pardon himself, that means he is literally a king. Commit a coup? No problem, just pardon himself, and he is absolved of the crime, AND he can be POTUS/king for life. Best solution is to abolish the power of pardons entirely. The fact a corrupt POTUS can dangle pardons as a reward for helping him commit crime, FAR outweighs any good it can do.

1 pointYep. A lot of black kids were told that circa 1950. A lot of gay people were told that circa 1990. Specifically I think Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Harvey Milk and Ruby Bridges were all told to stay where they belonged. Personally I am glad they did not dodge the drama. I think we are all better off for their efforts to not stay in their lanes.
-
1 pointThen why aren't you staying in your lane, you are neither transgender, nor a female athlete.

1 pointThey are REALLY trying to get conservatives back after they booted Carlson. Up next - "Pedophile sex offender attacks man trying to save America's veterans and children." Smaller chyron beneath: "We mean Biden is the sex offender, not Trump."

1 pointThe activities alleged (and apparently well supported by evidence and testimony) in the indictment are so brazen, so selfish, so clearly illegal and so obviously against the national interest that this will not be the case for any voter who is remotely paying attention. Sure, his faithful partisan media will push that line, and it’ll further galvanise those who were always going to vote Republican anyway but they’ll have a really hard time swinging the moderates the way they did with Hillary’s emails. The reality of the situation is just too clear and obvious this time

1 pointI'd say that being killed is a larger infringement of your rights than you coming in third rather than second in your high school track meet. But that's just me.
-
1 pointWhich rights are more important to the government? Those which allow life, those which allow liberty, those which allow the pursuit of happiness, or those which simply allow people to keep doing whatever they're doing wihtout having to risk being offended by whatever someone else is doing? There has to be a hierarchy -- otherwise, my right to complete peace would allow the dispatching of some people in the world, and I don't really think that would be a good approach. Wendy P.

1 pointWell, to be fair, every controversial decision 'damages' one party for the benefit of the other. For example, the abortion debate is over the benefits to the fetus or to the mother. The 'funny' part is that conservatives seem to enjoy doing damage to the people they don't like. Minorities, LGBTQ, 'liberals', women.

1 pointI was gonna leave it all peaceful with gnr, but for some reason it gave me a double post. So let me edit this and tell you how I really feel: You take a mortal man And put him in control Watch him become a God Watch people's heads a'roll A'roll A'roll Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes Swaying to the symphony of destruction Acting like a robot Its metal brain corrodes You try to take its pulse Before the head explodes Explodes Explodes Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes Swaying to the symphony Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes Swaying to the symphony Swaying to the symphony of destruction The earth starts to rumble The world powers fall A warring for the Heavens A peaceful man stands tall A tall A tall Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes Swaying to the symphony Just like the Pied Piper Led rats through the streets We dance like marionettes Swaying to the symphony Swaying to the symphony of destruction Suck on that. . . .

1 pointNice history, thanks for sharing. I was relatively late in the game getting into LED’s, but I love to play with them at any opportunity. Under my kitchen cabinets I’ve got some hi-power white LED’s run off of an LM3405 that’s PWM’d from a micro. The micro is triggered by a PIR sensor feeding some amplifiers that drive a comparator. Wave your hand under the cabinets, the comparator flags the micro and the lights ramp up. If it goes 5 minutes without a trigger on the PIR input and they fade out. Great for hands-free light control during food prep and it turns itself off when you walk away. It was a simple project and now 7 years later it’s still a super-useful part of our kitchen.

1 pointThe difference between you and I is that you want to be able to decide the spin, to decide which agenda to pursue and subject people to. I'd rather leave it up to the people themselves. That is EXACTLY right. And a local high school decides who competes at that school - they do not decide the game of life. But many conservatives do not think that, and feel that if a trans woman competes with other women at the high school level, it somehow damages society at large.

1 pointWhen you consider the relative dangers of transporting oil, road is probably the worst. Compare oil spills on roads, with train de-railments, with leaking pipelines with oil-carrying ships running aground. I can only remember one leaking pipeline in British Columbia and that was caused by a back-hoe. My evening constitutional will be along a high-pressure oil pipeline that runs up the side of Burnaby Mountain.

1 pointThere was a couple who had an adolescent son. One afternoon at home, the father saw his son engrossed in his video games and he whispered to his wife, "Let's sneak upstairs for a quickie.", and that's what they did. Unfortunately, they forgot to lock the bedroom door. Their son came upstairs to ask them something and he walked into the room without knocking. When he saw them naked and deep into doing the deed, he screamed. The father laughed at his son and continued with what he was doing as his son ran from the room. The next week, the grandmother was there visiting for a few days. One afternoon, the father heard a commotion coming from his son's room and went to check it out. He walked in his son's room and found his son on the bed with grandma and he was giving her the business. The father let out a scream. The son turned to his father and said, "I guess it ain't so funny when it's your mamma!"

1 pointSince I’m not an elite athlete, the argument about who gets to compete against whom is not one I have a dog in. But I can treat everyone with the respect that all humans are due. It builds me up, because my self-respect comes from me as well. Wendy P.

1 pointMeh. Everyone knows TK is a "Commie" who wants to see America destroyed. He even let Fidel ride his sled. (just in case, this is sarcasm - except for the Castro on the sled part)
