Of course. Affirmative action was conceived specifically to overcome the (racist) tendencies of people to not hire people who were of a different race. Has it been abused? Of course, like everything else. But it had the HUGE advantage of getting qualified black people into industries, companies and schools they were once effectively barred from. And once that happened, the unintentionally racist people in those companies/schools got a chance to experiene what you did - "huh, he's a black guy but he's very qualified - and a good guy to work with." And that attitude was the goal of AA.

Good afternoon everyone!! I was just wondering, does anyone out there use an alti-track as a chest-mount altimeter? Can you share how you mount it? I'm sure I'll have riggers rolling over in their graves, but I've been using a Bonehead chest mount with my alti-track using *cringe* zipties, for the last few hundred jumps, since I don't want it permanently mounted, so I have access to the digital data. Is there a better, safer or more secure way to mount it? I have some physical limitations, which is why I was advised away from the hand/wrist mount option. Thanks all, and blue skies!! Looking forward to kick off the season here in Canada!

Do you think that’s a problem? Or should we just accept the number of bigots and the amount of control they wield? BTW, this attitude (that a woman is not electable because of the opinions of people in the general population) isn’t really compatible with the statement that women have an equal opportunity I wonder how those same water cooler folks feel about electing minorities Wendy P.

Sort of like making cops use body cams. Or trucks having dash cams and driver facing cams. Everyone hates accountability whenever it it applied to them. Me too.

That's VERY single minded, coming from an educated man. All I see getting thrown around here is comparison. I stand behind what I say when I say "Our problem is uniquely OURS. What other country can compare??? NONE. So we agree that the gun is an easy tool to get, use and abuse. Our unique issue is the NUMBER of said guns (and the second...). They aren't going away, EVER. So I'd suggest some serious thought on how best to control violent PEOPLE, and not how to get rid of the gun. Can we talk about "world history"? Because we sure do have A LOT of violence to discuss here. And you wonder how people find it so easy to do the "evil" that they do.

The cable repairman was on my street and asked me what time it was. I told him it is between 1 and 5 pm.

Jack and his wife plan a safari to Africa. Because his wife's mother had never been to Africa, they decide, despite Jack's misgivings, to include her on the trip. The trip goes quite well and all three are having a good time, enjoying all the sights and all the wild animals. One morning, Jack and his wife wake up to find her mother not there. Concerned, they go out and start looking for her. Walking along the trail, they come to a clearing only to find the mother-in-law face to face with a very large lion. Jack's wife is very afraid and tells Jack: "Do something!!!!" Jack looks the situation over carefully and thinks for a few seconds. "Nope" he says, "That lion got himself into that predicament, he can get himself out"
