Negative. It's always a poor workman who blames their tools. All SC sarcasm font complainers should work on their technique instead.

On long, careful reflection, I think it's the morons.

Hi Ken, And, some people wonder why I want absolutely nothing to do with any religion. Jerry Baumchen

Not super hard, but not for the amateur. Electrolysis, the same process to get Hydrogen from water. For the amount of hydrogen needed to power the stuff the 'hydrogen economy' talks about, it's not going to work well. For the much smaller amount of sodium, even for millions of batteries, it would work, at least on an industrial scale.

People disgrace themselves once they accept the money. Thomas was a disgrace the day he sat righteously indignant in front of the senate judiciary committee.

If they were deserving of this waiver, the clergy would be insisting that part of the penance before the offender could get absolution would be to report their wrongs to authorities (even perhaps through legal counsel) and stand subject to the consequences. Saying a certain number of prayers should never be sufficient.

It may not have been a clear-cut business interest, but Crow invited several other power brokers to these events/trips who did have direct or secondary interest to the SC's calendar and/or opinions. (Source: news broadcast -- I can't recall at this point who those additional parties were, or what interest they had. Tough to take notes while driving)

True. On the other hand the comic wasn't well known in the US, if at all. The choice of name could have been his private joke.

It's pretty obvious the comic book thing is a coincidence. Someone trying to be discrete and anonymous would not pick the title character from a comic book. You might as well put Spiderman or Captain Fantastic. "Cooper" was a common name. Baseball players, movie stars...it was out there.

It feels like you should have ended with a /s.

I would rule that out except in the case of you or possibly Ron D.

Yup, it was all just a thank you for being part of the team. The real problem is that it helps to normalize the perception of bias. Is it purchased bias or is it inherent bias. How can anyone know after a while?

Canada is currently thanking it's southern neighbour's FBI for assisting it in making a small dent in the never ending supply of tools of war entering illegally to arm it's criminals. https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/police-bust-major-us-canada-163503597.html

In a move that is more Trump than Trump himself, the Russian government is calling for the arrests of all the judges who issued an arrest warrant for Putin for kidnapping children out of Ukraine. And everyone else who is against them. Andrey Klishas: "Russia should immediately issue a warrant for the arrest of all ICC judges." MP Vladimir Dzhabarov: "The Basmanny Court in Moscow should issue an arrest warrant for all members of the ICC." Not just the judges - all of them. Leonid Slutsky: the ICC should arrest Zelenskyy, "his pack, and their Western backers".

Because there are a lot of racist people. Thankfully things are very slowly changing, starting with actually acknowledging what has happened before being able to reconcile. We even have a national day dedicated to Truth and Reconciliation. None of that changes the irony of the sudden defense of Koresh. I have a hard time believing it really is the excessive force used by various alphabet and government agencies, when you had a police service actually dropping a bomb on a house and nobody really talks about it. Canada is far from perfect, but recognizing racism exists is certainly a step in the better direction when comparing the two countries.

Let me just get this straightened out once and for all. Both you and Joe (W) can take your flag waving indignation about foreigners daring to criticize your glorious nation and well.......express it all you want, I will mostly ignore as the distraction that it is. This is an international forum and just like America you can love it or leave it. I hope that is a decorous enough statement for you. I am not American, that does not mean I don't like America and it certainly doesn't mean I am not allowed to find fault in what is going on in America. You may have noticed there has been quite a shit show going on there for a few years now. So has the rest of the world. Yes, you are still better than Russia, China, and a whole bunch of shithole countries as well. But as long as you hold the world's reserve currency and enough weapons to change the population of the planet in a few hours, and dominate the English language news cycle we are all going to notice you and gossip about you as well. If you don't want the neighbours talking about you close the blinds while you are having your family fight. And try to keep the bullets contained within your own walls while you are at it. If you want to talk about the plight of Canadian First Nations people I am more than willing. After all I live in Winnipeg and it has close to the highest population percentage of native people in the country. My daughter in law is a treaty card holder. I am familiar with the issues and you are correct in thinking that they have some close parallels with oppressed groups in your country.

Why do Canadians allow the genocide and sexual assault of Indigenous peoples? Now, if you want to have a conversation about that incident, then let's do it with some form of decorum.

Back at the time, I heard some of the locals were saying that Koresh walked into town alone once a week, and they could easily have grabbed him then. I don't know if this was true.
  20. 1 point
No. No, nope, NO. It was about how ~13 fucking agencies couldn't come up with a better plan that DID NOT result in 25 children and two pregnant women dying as a result of the assault.
