They are like sports fans, they only care about their team. Facts don't matter if they aren't in your favor. Integrity, nope. Decency, nope.

Thing is they are not uninformed. They are just misinformed. (They see it as "having done their research.") The filters and content-creation in social media systems create news feeds, post feeds, memes etc tailored to that person, so in many ways it's a political persuasion amplifier. If you are a bit of a libertarian? Click on enough libertarian memes and pretty soon it seems like the government is worse than Orwellian, that only libertarianism and guns can save people, that trans teachers are forcing little kids to have fake sex with them, and that Grafton was a libertarian utopia. Click on an ad for clothing that blocks cellphone rays? Pretty soon you are getting stories about how 9/11 was a government plot, that the government is spraying chemtrails on everything, and how the COVID vaccine is what killed those million-plus people in the US. Etc etc. In the olden timey days it was harder to get that misinformed because most newspapers (for example) did not print regular stories about how the vaccine contains 5G Bill Gates tracker chips - you had to go to a library and go to the same section that had "Elvis was an alien" and "John Wayne shot JFK" books in it. And that was a bit of a clue that you were in cloud cuckoo land. Nowadays such material is cleaned up, meme-ized, colorized and presented right next to a story about (say) how there was a plane crash in LA. So it looks like real news. And many people (and yes, a lot of these are in rural America - but a lot of them aren't) don't have the tools to be able to quantify the validity of such news, and so start believing it. So it's not that they are uninformed. If anything they are overinformed by algorithms designed specifically to feed them misinformation. Which is one reason that fact-checkers on social media are so important. That little note on that Facebook post may not cause people to reject it immediately, but it is a way to provide people a link back to reality.

Stopping or not stopping them from testifying is not the result he is after. Causing enough delay to get himself or an aligned republican elected as president is the goal. The subsequent pardon will make all of this moot.

You're right. It's best we do nothing.

Pretty much EVERY other nation on the planet is calling bullshit. It IS possible. America just doesn't have the decency to do anything. Thank again, to all of the families sacrificing their children to the alter of killing machines. If we started a national lottery for sacrificing children, could we make it a cleaner, less painful process?

I recently received exceptional customer service from Sunpath Products Inc. Their responsiveness, service and support far exceeded my expectations. It started over a year ago when I was shopping for a new “rig” to be used for WS (95%) and belly (5%) Even though I wasn’t really a fan of the Aurora’s aesthetics, I decided that Function was more important the Form so called them directly to order (one challenge in being in the sport for 40+ years, is that my favorite gear vendors have either sold out, retired, or otherwise timed out). We discussed my needs, they looked up my current Javelin’s dimensions and they said, nope, won’t make you an Aurora, we don’t make them in your yoke size and you won’t be happy with fitment. That was disappointing, but also spoke volumes of Sunpath’s business ethics. We agreed on a new Javelin with some WS specific features would be appropriate. Fast forward 20+ weeks and the rig was delivered. I’m a picky ass mechanical engineer and I wasn’t really happy with the way the side flaps , main flap and closing tab were cut and sewn. Not a functional issue, but to my eye an aesthetic one. My rigger agreed so it wasn’t just me. I took some photo’s, wrote and email and sent it to Sunpath. I got a call the NEXT MORNING from Robbie R and his colleague in their repairs dept. We discussed and agreed design wasn’t ideal and they asked me to return the entire packed rig so they could size container flaps appropriately. A few weeks later they delivered upgraded product that looks great and I’m anxious to go out and fly. Robbie and Sunpath’s service was exceptional and I will continue to buy my harness / container systems from them and would advise others to do so without reservation.

Half of EVERYTHING is below median EVERYTHING. By definition. It's like saying that half the parachute harnesses out there are below median strength. Going to sell your container because of that?

It has pretty much been shown that EVs will be cheaper to run. People will are argue over the exact numbers. Are you trying to make a point here or do you just want us to research it for you? It would be pretty easy.

That is a mic drop... Good one Georger, I always suspected contamination from the engine contributed to some of the particles...

NEW - Cabin Coated with engine exhaust residue - Required Cleaning After Engine Exhaust Exposure as per NWA employee. SUSAN ECKLEY – FORMER NWA EMPLOYEE [NWA Facebook Page] “ My crew took that aircraft back to Mpls with a stop in Spokane with handful of passengers. It would have been grounded this day in age. Crew would have option not to go, also. Forced back then. Aircraft was inspected only an hour or so by Feds. There was black smoke residue inside aircraft from exhaust, flying with aft stairs down during incident. Cleaned on stop in Spokane, finally. Northwest didn’t want to put aircraft out of commission as they would lose a dime. I was also visiting Spokane tower on 4hr layover and heard beginning of incident. Asked to leave of course. We had no idea we would be going to Seattle and returning that aircraft to Mpls. Never heard a words from the company after. “ Kaye is aware of this Facebook post but apparently says it is of no value. Agreed. And the soft spot is the thinking that by adding guns, gun deaths will go down.

And America is composed of Americans, some of whom (like former posters here), consider the casualties of gun violence to be an acceptable trade for their freedom to own guns, just as the casualties of automobiles are an acceptable trade for the benefits of transportation. Yeah, you can talk to them about the controls on autos, but it's about like talking to a wall. Wendy P.

Seriously. Then, it's safe to say we've found 377 "soft spots" since Columbine to indicate a systemic problem. Imagine the last thing you do is hug your little girl before she went to school. The last thing she does is die from shots ripping through her body and you weren't there to protect her. That's my fucking "soft spot."

Wisconsin votes around 50/50 red and blue. It has a Dem governor. It has one Rep US Senator and one Dem US Senator. Due to extreme Republican Gerrymandering it has six Rep US Congressmen vs two Dem Congressmen and a near two thirds Rep majority in both houses of the State legislature. If the Reps pick up one State Senate seat they’ll simply be able to impeach and remove the new Justice. If that doesn’t happen and the new court orders an independent redistricting panel across the state, just wait for the Republicans to bitch and whine about how unfair and underhand it is for the Democrats to change the balance of power.

And if Rittenhouse hadn't decided to travel there for the sole purpose of playing Rambo, it wouldn't have happened either. He went looking for this. You applaud him for bagging some bad guys, others struggle with the fact he specifically went looking for trouble.
