"Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. Since the beginning of your life, since the beginning of the Party, since the beginning of history, the war has continued without a break, always the same war."

In both cases it seems to me the issue is whether it was deliberate withholding or an oversight, and whether there has been any obstruction by the former/current president or his staff. I have some confidence that the investigations will figure it out.

This will turn into a huge distraction and will keep the Rs occupied generating sound and fury for a long time. It will itself amount to little. But now a "Special Counsel" is looking into it. History shows that investigator will not stop there. Ken Starr was tasked with looking into Whitewater and found little there. But he did find a semen stained blue dress.

Joe, "How one anyone could be that irresponsible? And I thought, what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods, just totally irresponsible." VP's have no authority to declassify anything except items that they had classified. The documents had been there for years. Some were moved, twice. One location was accessible by anyone including the drunk/druggie party boy with the famed laptop, and a key was given to a Chinese spy. One location was funded by China and accessible by anyone including students. Of note, there is a young woman sitting in prison for taking CI documents home. She took them during COVID because access to the info was limited because the building wasn't often open so she took them home so she could work. Not smart. There have been Washington staffers instantly fired for mishandling CI. Yes there are differences. Yes, Trump had many more documents that we're still waiting to hear about. And many other differences that are bad for Trump. Trumps docs were locked up but still not in a "SCIF" as required by the National Security Act. None of Joe's docs were locked up, protected and definitely not a SCIF. It's difficult to believe his statement that he takes this seriously. Deliberate or not, obstruction or not, all instances are a violation. Let the spinners spin away, deflect and all the other things they do. The DOJ has some fact finding and unraveling to do.

Once as a joke I suggested that Cooper might have stayed in the woods and become the source of all modern Bigfoot sightings. Now I think I was on to something!

So you're the one! I'd heard that pollsters had found a democrat in Illinois who still believed. Confidence in Supreme Court is at lowest level in 50-year recorded history, Gallup poll finds "In the recent poll, public confidence dropped most significantly in the past year among Democrats and independents. Confidence dropped by 17 points to 13 percent among Democrats"

Wow, a link to an article on a climate-denial website that denies climate science! I'm reeling from the shock of it all!

Retired President George Bush's first jump was from a flaming Grumman TBM Avenger torpedo bomber. It seems that the Japanese did not enjoy him dropping bombs on them. His second and third jumps were from a Shorts Skyvan operated by Skydive Arizona out of Eloy. I assembled and packed his rig (Telesis) for those jumps. Eloy routinely hosts military freefall students from a half-dozen countries. They also have a wind-tunnel and barracks for military students. Consistently clear weather makes it cheaper to send military students to Arizona. The US military freefall school is also in Arizona ... Yuma, Arizona down near the border with Mexico. He later did a tandem or three from light helicopters.

Fortunately for me, I (and you, and Brian) DO live in the US. The US has, traditionally, been a technological leader. What we develop here becomes worldwide a few decades later - and what is developed in California becomes countrywide a few decades later. And that is exactly what we are seeing today with EV's and renewables. And you know this. You know it would be absurd to go back 20 years and say that cellphones will never catch on because there are almost none in Africa or India. The claim that since those places don't have a lot of renewables yet means that renewables will never catch on is just as silly.

We last spoke on Sunday before the incident, he was happy for 2023 had loads of plans and was living his best life. Very sad loss a very genuine individual.

Why even ask the question? Any entity that can afford high speed aircraft can also afford aircraft that can be safely flown at slower speeds. There is simply no need to complicate things. If you require tailgate birds for tactical military freefall exits, just acquire tailgate aircraft like the Skyvan for initial training. This has been a routine practice for military freefall training for years.

There are huge differences between how someone who cooperates and someone who obstructs are treated.

He was a true OG, both on dz.com and in wingsuiting. I feel like I was probably checking his instructional videos when figuring out how to backfly my old BM Skyflyer... around 15 years ago.

Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that. Definitely someone who gave back Wendy P.

Dammit, another good one! Thanks for the inspiration and advice over the years. Blue Skies Jarno, Fly Free, Fly Forever.

Terrible news! He was such a positive guy and worked hard to bring wingsuiting forward. Wanted to get in contact again for years to restart flying with some coaching and meet an old friend again. It will never happen. This day brings back a lots of good memories from two decades - but it brings a lot of pain as well. Fly free, Jarno!

I honestly have no idea why we’re discussing the US here. The OP’s question was for a list of countries that allow jumping through cloud as we doin Aus / NZ. The US does not allow this sort of jumping so is irrelevant to the conversation.

Not replying to the Monkey as much as posting for the benefit of those who are here to learn... As I stated in a previous post, skydivers in clouds - whether in freefall or under canopy - can't see or avoid aircraft (or other jumpers for that matter). If the clouds are below the exit altitude but above the deployment altitude, jumpers are forced to freefall through them. As for the assumption that any of this has to do with egos, no one needs to come to terms with anything. The FAA has rules in place for a reason. We follow them for a reason. Pretty simple concept. It's usually a good idea to pick your battles wisely.

I just stumbled across a free industrial sewing machine. I am currently working on my rigger rating, and since I will be needing a machine eventually, I grabbed this one. The placard on the front says OMEGA, and theres a smaller one on the front stamped "596" which I believe is the model number. If you tip the head backwards, theres another one with "178-047311" - the serial number? On the bottom is stamped the date, which puts it mid 1985 or 86. Now it says on it "Made in Japan" and the closest thing I can find to a company called Omega is "Omega Sewmac Inc" located in Quebec. Has anybody ever heard of this machine/company? I am trying to track down a users manual. I cant post any pictures, as I dont have a digital camera anymore Thanks
