3 pointsProud Boys out showing their collective ass, while hiding behind masks, throwing white power signs, and holding up "Don't honk if you support us signs". Sometimes I feel as though America has become the Iran that had a lot to do with me joining the Navy. There are times I don't even recognize the country I live in. White wingers ARE domestic terrorists.

3 points??? No-one's talking about invading Russia or has any intention of invading Russia. But so far with about 5 exceptions every bit of ordinance used in this war by both sides has exploded on Ukrainian territory, devastating Ukrainian land, infrastructure, culture and people. Russia acts as if those 5 or so exceptions are shocking, unprecedented and unjustified violations of its national sovereignty rather than natural consequences of starting a war on their own border. So far NATO and the EU have effectively played along with that narrative, as does talk about 'invading Russia'. There's no good reason why Ukraine should bear the entire brunt of the damage from this war, and no good reason why they should not be able to strike at the military equipment and infrastructure inside Russian border that is continuing to support and facilitate the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

2 pointsMostly I'm reacting to you telling him that he should be ashamed. Shaming people is almost never helpful. He merely sees things from a different perspective than you are looking at it from. Do the reports that you cite have any positive aspects to them, or only the negative things that you hammer away at?
-
2 pointsOr, he is living a fantasy focused on the best side of viewing the problem as opposed to your fantasy focused on the worst of it. The reality is somewhere in the middle. Racism is still a problem and always will be IMO and even if the whole of humanity somehow merged into one "race" there would still be a host of other isms to divide us into tribes.

2 pointsI marvel at people who get worked up about adults with other lifestyles. I guess I spent too much time in art colonies/gay Meccas, but I'm a lot more concerned about True Believers of any stripe than I am drag queens. Religious fanatics have a long track record of killing those with whom they disagree; drag queens not so much. I very much prefer cultures where other people's preferences are a matter of indifference, so long as everyone is of the age of consent, no animals are harmed and so forth. Then again, I'm not going to hebbin, so my opinion doesn't count for much. BSBD, Winsor

2 pointsi fear the GOP has abandoned decent, thinking conservatives. Time for a new conservative party?
-
1 pointThat’s literally what underestimating means. A gaffe like that from Biden and you would say it’s proof he has dementia.
-
1 pointThat’s not just what you’re saying. You’re quoting what Trump said on TV while complaining that other people are the ‘useful idiots’. Look in a mirror.
-
1 pointHi folks, Now, this is interesting: Trump came in third place with 14.6 percent, nearly 2 points below [ Liz ] Cheney and nearly 10 points behind [ DeSantis] Would it not be the final irony if Liz Cheney were to get the GOP nod for POTUS? Trump trails DeSantis and Cheney in Utah poll of possible 2024 GOP contenders | The Hill Jerry Baumchen

1 pointHi airdvr, Do you ever do your own homework? Jerry Baumchen

1 pointAlso this was in the latest batch. Probably goes a bit to explain why the FBI was so interested in LD back in the day.
-
1 pointIt's almost as if some people aren't able to recognize accomplishments unless they are accompanied by an overwhelming barrage of self-promoting tweets and hyperbolic statements along the lines of "nobody knows more than me..." and "only I can fix it...".

1 pointAmerican Rescue Plan Act. Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Remember when trump promised this? With zero effort to achieve it? A bipartisan passed bill. Inflation Reduction Act. Chips and Science Act. Again bipartisan. Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Again bipartisan. Sgt. 1st Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics, or PACT, Act. A bipartisan passed bill Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, and about a dozen more. Its just too bad that one tribe spends so much time in the warrens watching FOX that they don't see how he protects Americans.

1 pointunpack your main, store it loosely folded in a waterproof container in a dark area. If you use rubber bands, don't leave them wrapped around suspension lines since the rubber may / will degrade. clean any dirt from your harness / container, leave the reserve packed and store the "rig" in a waterproof container in a dark area. take it to your rigger for an I&R several weeks prior to jumping again. Have fun.

1 pointI would note that this quote from bigun uses the word "tempered" and does not claim racism has been eliminated. Racism in one sense or another is everywhere. Both of you are correct, each in different ways.

1 pointSome of this could also have been bluster. It might have been him being tough about “no funny stuff,” and also just being wrong in this case.
-
1 pointWhat's interesting is in the pic I have from the book, this middle paragraph is removed, so it reads as "as soon as this lowering of the door and stairs were accomplished in flight.." So from the book, it seems contradictory, but from the actual 302 it is not.
-
1 pointAre you aware of how much he's accomplished in the last 2 years? That's what Gingrich is talking about.
-
1 pointI'd argue that he wanted stairs down upon take off for two reasons: 1) It would ensure that he wasn't trapped 2) It increases the distance that the authorities would have to search for you because they'd have to assume he jumped anywhere between takeoff in Seattle and landing in Reno; he wasn't aware the pressure bump was going to give him away, obviously.

1 pointThere is a huge narcissist factor in the far right. When the sh*t hits the fan its all about "me" for the far right. In the end trump will turn on the party for its betrayal. As the ship goes down the tribes of rats will all eat each other. Keep the bag of popcorn held high. Because it will be bloody. Gory even.
-
1 pointWe don’t even know if any of these statements are his words verbatim, so what a fruitless exercise this is. Even if we were certain that they were verbatim it would still be fruitless.
-
1 pointHi Keith, I was reading earlier this week that the Lt Gov of Georgia [ a member of the GOP ] will not vote for either candidate for US Senate in this week's election. You are not alone. Jerry Baumchen

1 pointDead wrong. He drifted in the wind and landed in Pittsburgh. He hid the money safely away and forgot about it because no one steals money they need, only money it would be fun to die trying to acquire. Then years later it was all over the national news that a little stretch of a local river 3,000 miles away might flood. So he took the money from its safe hiding place and headed off to the exact place he would have landed if the wind hadn’t carried him to PA. No one looks for a criminal at the crime scene! He looked for the perfect section of four-foot-deep water to bury the 1.5 mil under, because that’s the safest and most logical place to bury the fortune you risked your life to acquire and have had safely hidden ever since. Using self-fabricated SCUBA gear and a shovel made out of the dreams of bored rich guys, he dug a hole in the sand of what would eventually, when the flood waters receded, be an easy spot for him to find again, because what better place to hide something than on the one strip of beach you could count on others frequenting. Once the money was safely and reliably hidden under the four feet of water, he turned the SCUBA gear into a winged horse and flew back to Pittsburgh, only three minutes late for the end of his OSHA-mandated 10-minute break. This happened on a Tuesday. It’s all in the files.

1 pointP.S. And I got to get up and sing with the band a couple of times at the DB Cooper Ariel Party....it's been fun for sure..
-
1 pointInteresting that mysterious Cooper and McCoy get compared at times...wouldn't it be something if McCoy really was Cooper all along and, all these years, we have been chasing the elusive, mysterious, whoever-he-is DB Cooper. One theory I have heard is that McCoy lost most of his money on the 11/24/71 jump, he was desperate for cash, so he went for it again, but was careless that second time around. And there is the timeline issue of where he was Thanksgiving evening and all. What if....?? What if we have been barking up the wrong tree, what if it isn't the big mystery we have made it out to be? No problem, I have had a good time, got on TV, met some great people..it's all good. MeyerLouie

1 pointIt has begun. I have formalized in writing my position on gun responsibility and out state's position on abortion. I did not vote for our State Governor or US Congressman and voted independent. I meant what I said, if I see Trump on the ballot; I'm done and will go Independent party. Angel's Envy or Maker's 46 will be my choice.

1 pointYep, that's called experience, something you have in spades. Don't let it go to your silly head but Wendy is too right: you are a treasure.
-
1 pointHence the legitimate belief that we're all doomed and a case of Scotch is the only remedy.
