Wikipedia is the best thing on the web. It is self policing. Anyone can write anything, but it is all subject to editing. That's why none of your shit is there.

Hmmmm. Any accessory store where we can buy "Your Favorite DB Cooper" paraphernalia? Head bands, wrist bands, t-shirts, auto decals, foot gear, tat stencils, jock straps, bras, ... you name it ? Your favorite suspect packets written by all the right researchers? I would love to have a TK wrist band or a Elvis Ulis cap ? I want all of my kids to have em too! DB Coper wanted a chute packed by Earl Cossey or a military chute signed by Eisenhower or Gen George S. Patton. Imagine what it would be worth on eBay today!!

There is some blocked out information on a number of documents, done by someone recently. His service number and address are not hidden, so I'm not certain what they blocked out. I don't think anyone questioned his skydiving skills. The questions came up about his military service and CIA stuff, and of course the Cooper hijacking. It may all be moot in that I saw a Facebook post that Cooper may have contacted the IRA to launder his money, and they used it to buy weapons. I had thought it was Colonel Mustard with the candlestick in the study.

Yea, that threw me off. I'm not sure exactly what is going on there. I do see that Reca/Peca did not seem to advance that far in rank, even in wartime. My guess is that he got himself in trouble, more than once. That does mix with what we know about his background. Lisa (his niece) posted some of these docs on Facebook. She did acknowledge that the CIA thing may be a little far fetched. Those docs did have a certificate of graduation from the Army Airborne school, and a pic of Reca with his jump wings on. The previous pictures may simply have been before he got his wings. What was not in those files is a DD214, which is a record of discharge and lists information regarding his overseas service, awards, etc. It is not a comprehensive list of everything he did, but it tells a lot. Back in the 1950s it may have had a different name. I would like to see if he did make it over to Korea during the war, and how long he actually served in Airborne units. Based off the insignia in one of the photos, it looks like he was Infantry. Given that his first discharge was in 1954, he falls into the over 63 years from discharge, and therefore anyone can get his military records. However, if they count his National Guard time and Air Force Reserve time in that calculation, they may not provide the information. My initial assessment is that Reca served a few years in the Army, jumped out of planes, then left the service, went into the Air Force Reserve, was activated for a month or so, then went back to weekend duty. He would have had the skills to jump out of a 727, and the balls. However, nothing in his background indicates that he was CIA or a secret agent, etc. He was a storyteller, and it sounds like he was a good one. He's a guy I'd like to have had a beer with, but with his blue eyes and stories, I don't see him as Cooper.

Respected or not the racist element matters to R pols. They need all the votes they can get and if they don't pander to the fringe then the fringe might stay home.

Cossey was a champion skydiver at the time, it's not a revelation that another local skydiver knew his name.

As our doctor was performing a simple medical procedure on my wife, he warned her, "After this, you can't have sex for at least three days." "Did you hear that?" she asked me. "No sex for three days." "I heard," I said. "But he was speaking to you."

Thank you for realizing that a woke unarmed brewer is a far more potent weapon than dozens of heavily armed cowards.

Come on Rob, you have to ease up on your 20 year rule as the years go by! :-) Yeah at one time a 20 year old reserve was some crappy lightweight maybe acid damaged round. Or some easy to stall tiny overloaded Raven with no spanwise reinforcement. But now a 20 year old reserve can be a great PD reserve that will take high weights and speeds. Similarly, a 20 year old rig isn't one with velcro all over, and relatively sketchy bridle and pin protection. A 20 year old rig is most likeley fully free fly friendly. You might not get a MARD on most 2002 rigs, or magnetic riser covers, but other than fancier looking hardware and backpads, the rest of the design isn't going to be much different. Now you may be right that say a 2002 Vector III & PD reserve (with say 20-25 boxes ticked off) & Sabre 2 isn't going to command a nearly-new price ... but it isn't exactly crap gear worth nearly nothing. If you were only talking about 20 year old pilot rigs .... Well yeah their value is going down a fair bit. But they don't seem uncommon up here in Canada. I think they migrate up here as US FAA riggers get more antsy about packing them, being more worried about 20 year "service life" stuff in manuals. But if they haven't been heavily used and sitting in the sun a lot, they can be in decent shape.

You mean the woke spectator at a drag show? A guy who runs a woke brewery? Funny that an unarmed woke spectator - and a drag queen in heels - had no problem subduing this murderer in seconds. But the heavily armed police force in Uvalde took over an hour, and gave him enough time to kill 19 kids.

The answer is no. And I believe that will never happen. There may be recommendations, but never any rules or requirements telling a licensed skydiver what size canopy may be jumped. In fact, if you look at the latest actions of the Safety & Training Committee, they developed & published a canopy sizing chart much like you described, very detailed and color coded. But it is a recommendation. Skydivers are grown-ups and capable of making adult decisions, and taking responsibility for those decisions. The S&TA and DZOs certainly will suggest, recommend, and push a jumper toward appropriate canopies, but I don’t ever see the USPA Safety & Training committee deciding what canopy a skydiver must have. I should know, as I serve on the committee. Paul Gholson, USPA Southern Regional Director

Hey there fellow old timers, I have an important question for you all. I'm trying to locate next of kin, family, whatever for JOE MORGAN. Does anyone know how to find Annie Bell? I am in possession of some very precious items that belonged to Joe, and I want to pass them on to Annie or Joe's family. Please PM me if you have any leads that i can follow. Thank you and blue skies.

    >My rules might be different than yours. Are you sure you want me to police your actions? He probably does. He can ignore you. Keep in mind that 99% of the people who are calling for safer skies mean "I want everyone else to stop doing stupid shit, while I take my carefully considered, well thought out risks." Thus they support plans that will not affect them.
