You are wrong, as usual,, Cooper planned a night jump, he demanded money and chutes by 5:00 PM. That was after sunset at 4:32.

I'm gonna guess that Max Gunther did not take the steps to do any FOIA's. He clearly got some info wrong in his book that was readily available in articles, but he has enough info in there that tells me he read some articles. I've read a good amount of his material (books, magazine articles) and I just don't find him to be a guy who digs too deep into details. That served him well when writing his books and articles in that he could make things up or weave together stories with minimal info. I suspect he got a little bit of info from "Clara" and then had to go the rest of his way on his own.

I have two EV's. Recently we drove one of them to Oregon with the kids. No problems. And we STILL generate far more than we use. Have you ever even seen an EV? I would suggest that your 50 year old information from the Real Goods catalog is now out of date.

Wendy, you and your long term trends!! That graph shows sea level going up and down like a yo-yo. With that jiggly line there are as many instances of it going down as going up. In fact, if I discount only 50% of the years I can demonstrate a continuous drop. </troll data analysis>

Ya know, in the spirit of kindness, people in the North could start shipping our homeless to the South for winter, so that they don't have to suffer in the cold. Just sayin'. And at least one load was required to sign waivers. The next town over (Amherst) just got an anonymous, blocked, call that we're getting a busload. Our services are mobilizing up. Wendy P.

I don't really belong here, but as a long-time skydiver, a jumper with plenty of landing experience can most likely land with just about any shoe, as long as they plan for it and focus on the landing at landing time. I have hundreds of jumps on round canopies (including nearly a hundred on the kind he used, albeit with less body weight). The majority of those were with sneakers, and a decent number were either barefoot or with flip-flops that were rubber-banded to my big toe. Slip-ons might or might not survive freefall; it'd depend on how tight they were (and ankle high would be fine). Just data points. Wendy P.
