Certainly seeing a few of those around lately. There's so much irony here my compass took off like a helicopter.

@Mods why is the troll still here? It was funny when it looked like a sockpuppet but now it's looking more like an active disinformation account, spreading links to drive engagement to certain videos/articles and help bump up their search rankings. Even humble forums like this one add legitimacy in the eyes of the algorithm. It's pretty obvious they're never going to engage in good faith. And I doubt they pay as well as Brent does...

After 35 years since I jumped a para commander and 17 years since last round jump jumped my Jumbo PC. Steel in ankle and weight gain kept from jumping rounds. After talking to a few folks on FB Round group decided wise to jump into water first. About 305lbs exit weight. I was ready to jump it last October on land but got weathered out and dz's closed for winter. Water jump pick up boat and opportunity came up very short notice. As much fun as I remembered and expected EXCEPT instant canopy. Discussion for rigging. Calculated descent rate somewhere around 17 fps. I can take that onto land. received_631436048348779.mp4

I am responsible for what I post, not what others post. I have enough on my plate beating back these outrageous man-made global warming maniacs. (Some of these wackos even think men can get pregnant)

Not good enough. They aren't a "biased" source, they flat out make shit up on the regular. The only people using them as a source are right-wing hacks - I may think you're in denial about still being an enlightened centrist, but I don't think you're a hack.

I am on the porch, it's a nice morning out here. That doesn't change the fact that rambling BS posts full of fake science are annoying, whether they come from you or from any number of monkeys.

Are you saying the EIA is wrong because it was cited by a conservative? If I were to use MSNBC (your favorite news source) there would be no inflation, fentanyl deaths, border crisis, increase in crime, lower standard of living, ballooning deficits, etc.

Good Lord, really?! That is an outstanding view that you must have worked very hard to get to such a deep level of self deception. The fantasy continues……

Um, you joined in May according to your user ID entry. It’s publicly accessible. It’s very easy to predict the past. Much harder to predict the future. Wendy P.

What was untrue? I truly believe that Biden’s policies are designed to make fossil fuels more expensive. Canceling leases, stopping pipelines, refusing permits, additional burdensome regulations are all part of this glorious transition. The result is Americans are financially worse off than when he took office, while this impacts all Americans it is particularly onerous for the poor and working class.

Hi Terry [again], And, let me add that I clipped the main ripcord into one of the reserve snaps. It did not clip in completely and now that ripcord is at the bottom of Battleground Lake. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Terry, OK, I only have one water jump; necessary for the D license. I did it into a lake back in '67. Did it into a lake as there was no running current. After opening, I got the reserve [ gut pack ] off to the side, hanging by the tiedown strap to get it out of the way. Got the saddle nicely under my thighs; full-saddle, mil surplus harness. Then undid the chest strap. At about 400 ft, I undid the leg snaps. As I came in, I went into full brakes. Just prior to touching the water, I just let go of the toggles. That laid the P/C out in front of me with it nearly perfectly straight & virtually stretched out on the water. I just grabbed a riser, flipped it over my head & swam about 5 ft to the pickup boat. Then I pulled the P/C into the boat with no entanglements. Easy-peasy. Jerry Baumchen

It takes a ton of screw up for El Pres to have the mainstream media chastising him but he did it with his latest stunt. President Joe Biden received backlash from corporate news reporters on Thursday night after he delivered a polarizing campaign-style speech flanked by two U.S. Marines. During the speech, the president attacked tens of millions of people who voted for former President Donald Trump, describing them as extremists. “Whatever you think of this speech the military is supposed to be apolitical,” CNN host Brianna Keilar, whose husband serves in U.S. Army, wrote on Twitter. “Positioning Marines in uniform behind President Biden for a political speech flies in the face of that. It’s wrong when Democrats do it. It’s wrong when Republicans do it.” CNN Chief National Affairs Correspondent Jeff Zeleny wrote that “there’s nothing unusual or wrong with a President delivering a political speech — it’s inherent in the job description — but doing it against a backdrop of two Marines standing at attention and the Marine Band is a break with White House traditions.” “The Marines behind Biden was weird,” ABC News producer Jeffrey Cook wrote. “If Trump did that, every Dem operative I follow would be freaking the [expletive] out.” CBS News Senior White House correspondent Ed O’Keefe noted the unusual optics. “Everytime I think Biden and crew can’t be dumber they outdo themselves,” Barstool Sports chief executive Dave Portnoy wrote. “Seriously who gives a speech warning people about how dangerous Republicans are to Democracy while having a background that looks like the Soviet Union and Hitler had a baby?”

I absolutely agree. Community college, trade schools and the like where one can learn skills that will provide one with a rewarding career and comfortable lifestyle. No doubt that college is needed for some careers but there are some many kids that are lured to college with the promise of being financially comfortable, and that is just not true. Most bank tellers have a college degree and barely get paid enough to make those loan payments. In SC a paramedic is paid more than a school teacher or a basic nurse. The last 2 jobs require a college degree. The paramedic gets a significant amount of specialized training, often paid for by their employer. According to some since they didn't go to college so they are uneducated.

So what is the price tag of the student loan repayment? I am not on board on this one. It is absolutely a regressive policy that targets individuals that have higher earning potential. It doesn't solve the problem of students that really ran up loan balances chasing degrees that don't get them the wages they need to pay back their borrowings. The 10k will be a fraction of their debt, in that sense this is just a hand out to their lenders, but it doesn't leave the borrowers in a new financial position. It gives a windfall to students that have high earnings potential, computer science, finance, law because their timing is right and they haven't reached into their earning potential yet with just a year or two in the workforce. It sticks lower earners, and those who paid off their loans, with the bill for a small subset of the population. Johnny finance student just graduated, he has 30k in debt and he is making 90k a year so he qualifies for this hand out. In 5 years he will be probably be making 150k plus, he will have no problem paying back his loans without assistance. Johnny doesn't need a taxpayer funded hand out. Dawn with the masters in basket weaving just graduated. She has 80k in debt because she had to go to the out of state university, but she really loved her sorority. She won't be able to pay of her loans ever, unless you add another zero to the loan repayment. Meanwhile this does nothing to fix the cost of education and how we approach higher education, as well as financial literacy, so we will be right back where we started in 5 or 10 years.

GI bill - an employment benefit just like a corporate 401k match or healthcare Public roads - a common good for all for personal transportation and to enable commerce, not a direct subsidy to one small focused group Child deduction - yeah, maybe that is one but a huge percentage of the population enjoys it not a small percentage, yep - if one doesn't have a kid they feel cheated, and those that don't have kids in school feel cheated by the school taxes College is not the only route to become educated. Inferring that anyone that hasn't been to college is uneducated is, well, just wrong, and for some it would be insulting. Probably some on here. The comment about veterans is idiotic.

deflection - don't you say that all the time when folks don't stay focused on the topic? It's a one-time give away. If one made their last loan payment yesterday they get nothing. If they started a loan last week they get nothing. If they skipped college, started a trade and took out a business loan they get nothing. No one with a mortgage gets anything. The tradesmen, the landscapers, the mechanics, the waitresses, the dirty handers they aren't they upper class, they get nothing. Bottom line is those that are working hard get nothing. And many of those are just as needy.

Forget the wall that was intended to manage immigration, human trafficking and drug smuggling by creating entry points that the Border Patrol could handle. Joe can have his personal wall at his vacation home. It will keep him from wandering off and keep the cameras out while he's shaking hands with imaginary people. How about the vote buying scheme that will miserably fail? For every 1 person that gets a free ride there are 10 others that are feeling cheated. No, that's not a documented ratio but one can understand the concept, at least some can. Forgiving loan debt is a shift of money from one group to another. It appears that the ones most upset are those that: didn't go to college because they couldn't afford it and didn't want a loan, went but worked to pay their way without a loan, took a loan but worked to pay it off, etc. It sends the wrong signal ..... don't worry the government will cover your bad decision.
