I'd be okay with that if it ever got to where I gave a shit. In the meantime, I'll leave those weighty matters to my betters and continue thinking that what ever makes people happy, that has no intentional negative impact on others, contributes to a generally happier world to live in. That's a good thing.

He was gone for a month. I liked it better that way. Nothing more, nothing less.

Imagine if lawmakers crafted laws to tackle insider corruption in Washington. With the zeal that they use to pander to their respective bases.

The re-enactment was to take place early Jan '72... Cossey was being vetted to do the jump but it fell through and they used the sleds. But, Cossey was the FBI's go to guy for the chutes found over the years.. that makes him important and feeds his ego. If you read his statements to the FBI he didn't exactly lie to them, he was initially mistaken, then indirectly maintained that error.. he did claim he gave them his records but the FBI never got them.. though he lied directly to the media. Carr believed the back chutes came from Cossey's house, not sure if that came from Cossey or Carr assumed it. Bruce thinks Cossey was used by the FBI to spread a narrative... he flip flopped on whether Cooper survived the jump.. It seems that much later the FBI lost confidence in Cossey. bottom line is Cossey is completely unreliable and his description of Cooper's chute conflicts with the evidence. Did the FBI catch it or just cover it up as well? It seems odd that the FBI didn't catch Cossey's error.

It's more an opportunity to demonstrate his intellectual superiority to archaeologists, social justice warriors, trans people, the woke crowd, insurance adjusters, scientologists, nonbinary people, religious people, groups of Russian, Chinese and German people and doctors who specialize in GRS. More to come, I am sure.

Lots of people think it should be. Unfortunately, the ones who don't think so are the ones who make the rules. Somewhat similar to campaign finance reform, when the ones who benefit from the rules are the ones who make the rules, change is not terribly likely.

As far as I'm concerned, it should be. Wendy P.

Thanks guys. I suppose I engage by engaging with you. But the point still stands, shunning works but it takes a village.

That old saw about criminals not obeying the law is among the weakest of all arguments against gun control. They will mostly obey the law just like they obey most laws now. Criminals pick and choose what laws to obey based on what they think they can gain.

The solution isn't simple but it is obvious. As a society, we need to ban all assault style weapons and make possession subject to very serious penalties because we need to stop fabulizing their ownership. We need to stop local school control, because the boards are too often foolish and misdirected, and create a national standards system paid for with national tax dollars. We need to provide lunches, basic medical care and psychological care at every school. Teachers need to be paid more and held to high standards and accountability. That means the unions need to give something. Summers off for 3 months must end and school uniforms should be on the table. Child care needs to be a national priority. But mostly we need to quit believing we are teaching parents and go full focus on taking care of kids. Not just by educating them but by helping them to be well adjusted and ready to enter adulthood and society. Until we do that we should expect nothing less than we now expect every day.
