I still think Biden was the right person to run against Trump in 2020. The country needed an alternative to the 24/7 insanity of the Trump administration. "Boring but serious" got the job done. I don't think it will work again though. The Democrats need to put forward someone who is rational, charismatic, energetic, and younger, someone with the drive to lead an alternative to Trumpism and Republican white nationalistic Christian fundamentalism. Most Americans, I hope, don't see the Handmaid's Tale as an aspirational vision of the future. Surely the Democrats can find someone who can stand as a credible leader and offer a vision of what this country can be. Biden isn't that person, he seems unwilling to take on Republican lies and dirty tricks. Perhaps he is still too stuck in the hope that Republican politicians will, in the end, do what is right for the country.

Hi Ken, I'm with you. Last time around he was in an Anybody But Trump scenario. That will not work in two years. Re: he will need to inspire voters In 2008, a young, virtually unknown senator from Illinois did just that. When I would listen to Obama speak, it reminded me of JFK in Berlin in the summer of '63. When I listen to Biden speak, I am reminded of a very old man. While I wish it were not true, age does take a toll. Jerry Baumchen

Any threats which claim Trump reads are obviously idle

The Roe decision was leaked two months ago. A weak kneed executive order after the decision is published isn't leadership. A hell of a lot more screaming and hollering could happen after any of the near daily gun massacres. He could with a command be on TV decrying oil company price gouging, food producer price gouging, health care price gouging, you name your flavor du jour it doesn't matter the idea is to get out there displaying leadership. He isn't doing it. Yes he's doing a lot of good elsewhere and yes he saved us from Trump 2.0. But he's not measuring up now and now it's time to look ahead to who we want to run in 2024.

Agreed. We need an orator with charisma. Gavin Newsom, maybe? Who else, #1 or #2?

True. But if he expects to be re-elected he will need to inspire voters. Last time around Trump inspired them. If Joe and Donald are the nominees again Trump will win. Easily.

By being far worse? 11 top members of his administration and his campaign have been convicted of felonies from fraud all the way to conspiring with Russia against the United States. Trump is currently on trial for rape and slander. Trump has openly called US veterans "suckers" and "losers" for serving their country. (And yes, that was verified by FOX News.) Trump incited an attempted coup where his supporters stormed the US Capitol, vandalized and looted, literally shit on the floor - and tried to beat cops to death with American flags and tried to kidnap and kill the Vice President of the United States. Almost 1000 of them have now been arrested, and there are now dozens of convicted Jan 6th felons awaiting sentencing and already in prison. After he started the coup he was initially joyous. Then when things didn't go his way he threw food at the White House wall and literally tried to take the wheel in the presidential limo, only to be restrained like a child having a tantrump by the Secret Service. Trump instituted a child separation policy to better punish migrants who illegally cross the border. Initially he bragged about this, then said he didn't do it, Obama did. It would take a cruel and despicable person indeed to support separating children from their families in a foreign country. He called Nazis and white supremacists "very fine people" after the Charlottesville riots. He ditched any observers to have private conversations with Vladimir Putin after he promised him great rewards if Putin helped him win the election He fired the director of the FBI when the director refused to sabotage the investigation into his Russian ties. He mocked a disabled reporter on stage by imitating his spastic movements. The whole country has seen his evil, his hatred of Ameria and his attempts to end democracy in the US. And if you think that Hillary Clinton's use of the wrong email server is anything like what Trump has done . . . you haven't been paying attention.

He is POTUS, but he is not providing any leadership. Leadership is a huge part of the job. He inspires no one. He is obviously not up to the job at this stage in his life. His only accomplishment, beating Trump, was important but not enough.

Where people wait politely for days in line for their turn at all of life's essentials. "Sri Lanka, with 70.2% of the population identifying as Buddhist. Of the remaining Sri Lankan population, 12.6% identify as Hindu, 9.7% identify as Muslim and 6.1% identify as Christian." Perhaps its because there are so few christians with AR-15s running around.

The school at the drop zone you go to will have their own ideas about how to get you recurrent. And you will do it on their student gear. Wait until you are going through that process, and talk to the instructors and canopy coaches there. Then you will have a better idea of what gear to look for.

Owning Twitter makes no business sense at all for Musk. It is a vanity project of epic proportions by a man who has become overly impressed with himself. Most likely he will run it into the ground because it is so far away from the engineering he is known for.

This is really basic stuff that should be covered in any FJC. A simple method to avoid getting too low before picking an alternate landing area in case of a bad spot. Example; pattern entry is at 1000’ and every student should know approximately where the planned pattern entry point is. Under canopy at 4000’, look down and figure out your position, look at pattern entry point and pick a spot about 1/2 way between. 4000-1000=3000/2=1500’. So, at 2500’, if not at or well past the 1/2 point, pick out an alternate landing.
