Thank you! The big news today, I guess, is there will now be three DB Cooper forums! DZ has kicked Blevins off at long last. Shutter will keep his site open. Chaucer will be the new MOD there. Good for Chaucer! And no. 3, Nickyb233 and Flyjack etal will start a new site called WikiCooperpedia??? which will have the old Sluggo files. Do I have that correct? I think so. Good luck to all. Because, well, I'm a woman who stands on her own. Therefore I know that there are consequences to saying whatever the fuck I want to, to whoever the fuck I want to, whenever the fuck I want to. Someone might beat me up or attack me, and I'm probably weaker than they are. Men don't generally have that; white men have fewer (not no, but fewer) consequences for many actions, and they see that as a good thing, because it gives them more "freedom." Within social groups, other on-top types (black men in black neighborhoods, ministers in churches, executives in companies) often also don't have consequences imposed as certainly as happens to the also-rans, parishioners, employees, etc. Wendy P.

I’ve done all of those things. For one thing, it’s just not that hard — it means having the basic respect/consideration for another person to think they’re as worthy of my consideration as I would expect to be of theirs. The bathrooms are clearly marked. I have more trouble with cute little bull/cow memes than “whatever, just wash your hands.” Pronouns are not that different from names. If we can get past saying “boy” and “girl” for adult humans people used to consider as not being worthy of the consideration of learning a name, then maybe if we interact with someone we should also learn how they want to be addressed. Their opinions are more important than my assumptions. As far as the other, well, to each their own. I don’t get offended on behalf of Clarence Thomas when someone calls him a moron, after all. I don’t decry my privilege, I acknowledge the advantages it’s given me. There’s a difference. It cuts down some of my self-regard, but since that part was unearned, that’s OK. It just means I have to work a little harder — just like people with less privilege. Wendy P.

Just wanted to give an update on this thread, as unfortunately we do seem to need to come in here and clean house quite often. RobertMBlevins was timed out in the past and asked to keep the content topical. He agreed to these rules, but has clearly not abided by them. In turn we have banned this user permanently. This forum IS supposed to be a little bit more relaxed in what is moderated. But that doesn't mean one can hijack it and post completely off-topic posts. If you want to discuss your personal lives, there's private messages you can use. We definitely want the discussion to revolve around this case and theories related to it. Not what you ate for dinner the previous night.

This is really basic stuff that should be covered in any FJC. A simple method to avoid getting too low before picking an alternate landing area in case of a bad spot. Example; pattern entry is at 1000’ and every student should know approximately where the planned pattern entry point is. Under canopy at 4000’, look down and figure out your position, look at pattern entry point and pick a spot about 1/2 way between. 4000-1000=3000/2=1500’. So, at 2500’, if not at or well past the 1/2 point, pick out an alternate landing.

How did one man get to takeover an entire sub and just spam the heck out of it? All of the hard work of all the people that posted here years ago is being thrown away for Blevins home renovations? How is that fair?
