No argument. Bleach also showed effectiveness in similar contrived lab testing. Go figure, bleach in the petri dish destroy virus particles. If doctors are prescribing ivermectin more than the recommended human dosage then they should lose their medical licenses for malpractice. People that are obtaining non prescription ivermectin and are overdosing are idiots. They get what they get, and I don't really care who gave them the idea or supported it, they chose to follow that advise instead of more qualified medical advice like get your vaccination, and don't take horse de-wormer. Fuck 'em. I grow increasingly less sympathetic and increasingly more resentful of these people day by day.

To me, an entanglement is like a pilot chute in tow. There is no perfect answer; people have died who didn’t cut away, and people have died who did. If there isn’t a good way to fix it, then you have to invest extra effort in preventing it. Wendy P.

"We're wary about people going out to hunt the jararacussu around Brazil, thinking they're going to save the world ... That's not it!" said Giuseppe Puorto, a herpetologist running the Butantan Institute's biological collection in Sao Paulo. "It's not the venom itself that will cure the coronavirus." Something tells me that this will be missed by many. Wishing good hunting... to the snakes.

Who could have foreseen that the Taliban would take Afghanistan and Texas in the same week?

Hi folks, Re: You run out of sky before you realize it. I realize it was a very long time ago & lots have changed since then. But, in the Fall of 1964 I watched someone that I knew tried & tried to get a main ripcord pulled. He finally pulled his chest pack reserve at 300 ft. In the Spring of 1965 I watched someone else that I knew tried & tried to get a main ripcord pulled. He finally pulled his chest pack at 400 ft. Both of those events are burned into my mind. If you ever see something like that, you will understand why I say: You run out of sky before you realize it. Jerry Baumchen

Thanks! I had less than 100 jumps when I joined my first team last year, so I guess I'm paying it forward

I know in my heart it's wrong to do but this is why, when I see a Texan coming, I cross to the other side of the street.

As long as there are so many talking heads ginning up opposition to anything “liberal” and telling people they’re on the team, there’ll be plenty of people who will keep voting with groups that want to stay on top by stepping on others, not by being better. One way to do that is to redefine “better” as something like yourself. I’m concerned. Wendy P.

I knew this was a bad judgement, I hadn't realised how bad though. The US takes one big step away from the civilised world.

You pitch at 3,500 ft. Three seconds later it clicks in your brain something is wrong. You are at 3,000 ft. You will reach your hard deck in three seconds and your AAD will fire in twelve seconds. How many seconds do you spend trying to clear it? How long will it take to successfully pull your cutaway and reserve handles?

The skydiving world could use more people doing what you are doing. Great work!
  13. 1 point
Absolutely. If you don't have the skydivers you want, make them. I started a 4-way team with 2 teammates who had under 100 jumps. Yup, sometimes you have to travel to do the discipline you want. I just got into CRW recently, and it looks like pretty much 100% of my CRW jumps will require travel.

Over the last 18 years of flying, I've posted various educational coaching material available online on flying technique in form of writing and videos. During the lockdown period in 2020, I finally took the effort to collect and rewrite all of that in a cohesive and structured book, called 'the flight manual' For those interested in getting into wingsuit flying, I figured it would be an interesting resource, and for those already flying there should be a lot of interesting information on performance, acrobatics and gear that might be of assistance in your progression. I think Trae's suggestion is worthy of consideration:

And he really loved his family, just not enough to get a vaccine to protect his kids. And of course, there is a GoFundMe. I really have a hard time mustering up any sympathy for that level of stupidity.

It only makes me wonder how you can be taken seriously on any topic. For example, yes, virus particles are itsy bitsy tiny and can pass through masks all by their lonesome. But they aren't just out there, hanging in the air, waiting for you to walk by. They are in water droplets. Hence the utility of masks. Also, your expert ain't one. Seriously Bill, this was bad.

That's certainly my impression from the 40+ jumps on the VK and 7 on the Leia. 7 jumps isn't anywhere near enough to dial in a canopy (nor am I trying to max anything out anyway) but they felt very similar. I think if you were a competitive canopy pilot, you could make the argument in favor of the Hybrid Leia but, I haven't jumped one yet (stay tuned!) so I couldn't tell you how much difference the sail cross bracing or power band (are they still doing that?) make for someone who's a fun jumper. Either way, if someone's unhappy with either wing, I'm not sure I'd trust their opinion.
