The hotshot swooper who tells newbies to downsize aggressively and that speed is their friend is probably a licensed current skydiver. And yes, your flare can be improved by additional speed; it’s physics. But do you listen to him (it’s just about always a him), and recommend him to other newbies? There are about a million licensed practicing physicians in the US. They probably don’t all say exactly the same thing, but if 999,000 of them are saying one thing, and 1000 are saying something else, consider the odds Wendy P.

Nooo, the "and being formally interrogated" is the turning point. Cops can arrest you and sit you there as long as they're legally allowed, but the Miranda reading isn't required until an interrogation begins. If the cuffs go on and they chuck you in the back of the squad car, and you start spilling your guts before they get you to the station and start an actual interview, your rights aren't violated because they didn't Mirandise you beforehand. Mate it's a bit rich to say this is semantics when you just spent half a page berating Seth for not getting his wording/interpretation perfect.

Except that's a blatant and obvious lie. First of all, it's obvious that you don't want every single person convicted of any kind of violent offense to spend the rest of their lives in prison. Of course you don't. It would be fucking insane to the point of sociopathy to genuinely hold that view. Second, not only have you not once said that yet, you have said several things that directly contradict it. Again, what you ACTUALLY SAID in the first post that you underlined "violent offenders" and said you were going to be "very clear" about your opinion was that 15 years should mean 15 years. I don't know which classes you failed to pay attention in, English or logic or whatever, but 15 years doesn't mean life. If this subject has got you so riled up you can't even see that then you seriously need to go and calm yourself down before your next post. What you ACTUALLY SAID back when this thread was still about guns (before you derailled it with your revenge fantasies) was that using a gun in a violent crime should bring an extra 10 year sentence as a specific gun violence deterrent. You even clarified why you thought not using a gun was worth a lesser sentence. But now if all violent offenders should get LWOP anyway how is any of that remotely relevant? Why would you even have said it? Answer; something you're saying is not true. You've dug yourself into a hole that you're now lying to get out of because you're too proud acknowledge your fucked up and contradictory arguments. See above. You're not attacking me because I wasn't paying attention, you're attacking me because I was. Blaming the reader for knowing what you said is pure trolling. Shame you decided to go down that road, Brent.

The DOJ stated a fact,, no SOL for a capital crime. Speculation is fine and necessary but all speculation is not created equal.. Speculation that Cooper threw money into the River with the intention of it being found to throw off investigators is Ulis level crazy speculation.

On the one hand we have the US with lots of guns and massive incarceration sanctions. Then we have the UK. Few guns, lax sanctions. NYT "GRANTHAM, England — Daniela Espirito Santo died after waiting on hold for the police to answer her call for help. It was the seventh time in a year that she had reported her boyfriend to the police, including for death threats and for trying to strangle her. Two of those calls came in the hours before her death. The first was in the morning, after her boyfriend pinned her on the bed and pressed his forearm against her throat. “Is this it?” Ms. Espirito Santo, 23, had gasped, according to a police report. “Are you going to kill me this time?” The police took him into custody but quickly released him. He returned to Ms. Espirito Santo’s apartment and soon afterward she called the police to report that he had assaulted her again. The dispatcher told her that her situation wasn’t urgent, because the boyfriend had left. He directed her to a nonemergency hotline and hung up after 94 seconds. Just over an hour later, Ms. Espirito Santo was pronounced dead; the cause was heart failure. She never spoke to the nonemergency dispatcher. Her call stayed on hold for eight minutes, and when the dispatcher picked up, the only sounds were the cries of her 7-month-old. The police later found her slumped on her sofa, not breathing, her distraught baby cradled limply in one arm.... it also illustrates another flaw in British authorities’ efforts to address violence against women: the repeated failure of prosecutors to punish abusers. Initially charged with manslaughter, the boyfriend, Julio Jesus, then 30, was eventually sentenced to only 10 months behind bars." So he'll serve five months and be on parole for five months and thats it.

The MD that I am married to strongly recommends mask wearing in any setting that involves close contact with others from outside the household, and vaccination. She says she will be first in line for a booster if/when they are approved, and that I should be right behind her. She gets her medical information from medical journals, not from Facebook or YouTube, I have now gone 19 months without a respiratory infection - the longest I can ever remember, which I attribute to masking up and social distancing during that time.

Unfortunately, the easily led listen to this stuff and share it on the bloody internet. A bachelors degree, even an A-Level in biology will tell you that most of what he said is complete nonsense.

Within LIVING memory in the USA: Blacks have been lynched. Blacks have been forcibly sterilized just for being black Blacks have been excluded from decent schools. Blacks have been targeted by drug laws that are clearly racially motivated. Blacks have been incarcerated for victimless "crimes" while far worse offenses committed by arians have received no more than a slap on the wrist. Blacks have been segregated from transportation, restaurants, restrooms, etc. Blacks have been redlined out of good housing. ETC, ETC. Trying to whitewash this and pretend it didn't happen just continues the bigotry and prejudice.

Not a lot of traffic on this forum. There’s a skydiving forum on Reddit that may have more people with experience.

And the advantage to that is that you’re amused much of the time. Kind of like being easily pleased. Life is better that way. Wendy P.
