I would encourage my students to come to the dropzone early and practice in lieu of having one at home. Personally, I wanted to see them doing it right. Part of my job was to ensure the muscle memory was properly developed.

Brent, what you and Winsor are doing is "woke-washing" the issue. When you can't address that there is a problem, you start throwing meme's and video snippets at it. You and I served with many men of color. We worked together, slept together, ate together, played together and we had each other's asses. I can't help but wonder if you would be having this same conversation with them and if you did - do you think they'd have your ass when the time came. A new problem has arisen in the past few years and was highlighted with Ferguson. In the month following the shooting, 105 black men were shot by LE. Some of them justified, most were not. And, it was intensified with George Floyd. But, what it also did was begin a process of exploration into many areas of racism - including legal barriers. You know, when you step on a cat's tail, it screams loudly, but you can't blame the cat for the noise when you were responsible for causing the pain. I don't see what the problem is with taking a long introspective look into what's going on and seeing if we can't do a better job of turning barriers into bridges. Let's not give the issue a dismissive wave of the hand.

I just read most of the link and there may be a way to help convince someone to get the vaccine. Tell them it is win win situation. They can get the vaccine for free and have a good chance of protection from the virus. If they get the vaccine and have a bad reaction, they still may have some protection from the virus and live long enough to join a class action suit and get a whole lot of money.

You're right. The NRA has painted registration as the evil first step to confiscation - yet they don't seem to recognize every gun manufactured is registered and every gun sold goes thru a wholesaler (registered) and dealer (Registered) and when sold a "Yellow Sheet" (ATF Form 4473) to the end-buyer. Then it gets lost. If we had cradle-to-grave registration (not unlike vehicles) WITH those guns not voluntarily registered were confiscated and smelted (during the commission of a crime) eventually, over ten-twenty years, there would be a significantly less number of weapons on the street. Some would say, that's not good enough - "NOW!" But, imagine how far along we'd be if it had started almost twenty years ago when we first started having these conversations. I'm also in favor of a 10X rule - use a gun during the commission of a crime = automatic 10 years added with no parole.

That would sort of deflate his outrage, though - and then where would he be? Deflated, that's where, and no one wants to be deflated.

No argument, Professor. Hence, the proposal to include cradle-to-grave ownership registration.

Apologies for the downtime without much warning. We moved to a new host with some improved resources, we're hoping this can resolve some of the intermittent downtime that users have been experiencing for a while. While we've tested a number of pages, if you notice anything out of place since the server move - just drop me a DM.
