Actually, the AAD is located at the bottom of the reserve pack tray. The thing at the top is just the control. I've never heard of an issue with the magnetic slider keepers, riser covers or D-bags. I would expect that slider keepers and riser covers would have less chance of an effect than the D-bag, because the D-bag is a lot closer to the actual AAD unit.

Even though in theory there is a miniscule chance that it could cause an opening delay or a horseshoe, I believe that in real life a properly made magnetic slider keeper (like the ones you can get at any major skydiving gear store) will not cause any issues, as the slider is loading the magnet in shear direction, and that is the way magnets release the easiest. Force of an inflated main being cut away is fairly large. I did see some homemade designs which incorporated magnets but had inadequate fabric length and construction which could possibly tie into a knot behind your head and cause the magnet not to release. Fortunately, the fabric quality on those was sufficiently poor that they would probably rip before causing a horseshoe. As for your original question, I believe that most modern AAD designs are fairly well protected against ESD or magnetic interference (at least in the order of magnitude that a small slider keeper magnet can produce).

The thing that could happen is that you stow the slider using the keeper and afterwards decide to cutaway. In theory it could cause a slight delay or completely fail to release, though I've tested mine on the ground and it takes very little force for it to release. Not 100% related to your question, but I would worry more about this than about magnetic interference (though I'm using a magnetic keeper myself and don't think it would cause issues).

RSL is a lanyard connecting one of the main risers and reserve ripcord (and MARD if it's there). Once the reserve canopy is open, RSL doesn't have any function, but it still exists connected to the main riser. In case you have two canopies out and decide to cutaway the main, you will still have a lanyard dangling from the main riser which can get caught in something (for example, it could whip and wrap around the reserve risers). Disconnecting it reduces/removes the chances for this.

How is reviewing POV footage captured from a camera inside a 25-100ish jump novice's helmet going to help said novice improve their flying?

The interesting part is that you seem to think the issue is the benefits and ot the compensation offered to work and that the solution is to make people more miserable so they go to work for wages below poverty levels. Of the more than 250,000 jobs listed in Tennessee, only about 3% offer a wage above $20,000 per year. I don't blame people for not wanting to work for that.

I'll be more clear then. No one has a right to tell a woman she must have an abortion. And no one has the right to tell a woman she must carry a pregnancy to term. Not even the person who got her pregnant. Not even if they are married to each other. If you want to control a womb, grow one of your own.

Hi Joe, I went to high school with a stutterer; his last name was Struthers. You can probably guess the hell endured. I have great admiration for Joe Biden for his overcoming his stuttering; few can do it. I am just fine with 'someone who sometimes has difficulties speaking.' Jerry Baumchen

Other people are either too stupid to see a person with a speech impediment instead of cognitive issues or they are so invested in their hatred that they choose to mock someone who sometimes has difficulties speaking.

Well, people DO blame Trump for the response to the pandemic. Pretending it wasn't a problem. Muzziling scientists and the CDC. Tying essential medical supply deliveries to the 'loyalty' of a state's governor. Worrying more about the stock market than the lives of citizens. You know, the "it will all go away, like a miracle" crap. The "slow down the testing" garbage. The 'we should look into bleach and ultraviolet light' shit. Of course, Trumpettes ignore that part. And claim that the rest of us are 'blaming Trump for the pandemic'.

Biden’s weakness has emboldened bad actors across the board. A resurgent Taliban is on the offensive killing hundreds of civilians, mostly girls, the drug cartels have diversified and now and are now in the mass human trafficking business, Hamas has noticed Israel no longer has strong support from the White House and has acted accordingly, Russia has gutted our Moscow embassy staff and has been implicated in the pipeline attack, inflation has doubled, gas prices are skyrocketing (and that is before the summer driving season has even begun) businesses that are trying to open back up are facing a labor shortage caused by Biden’s “get paid more to stay at home” unemployment benefits, his CDC is sending mixed messages about COVID as is his post vaccination mask wearing, and....well...and now it is time for coffee ☕️

You mean WHITE people are finally afraid and angry. People of color have been in that situation their whole lives.
