In my church there is controversy about taking the vaccine. Many have taken it, including my wife and I, but some refuse. Those refusing are not vocal with their reasoning. It comes across as, mostly, the government is not going to tell me what to do. To me that is very weak and not very enlightening. Some of us have had the virus and some of those have died or still suffering long term effects. My wife is in this situation. To date we have had 8,254 infected and 214 deaths. I would guess around 50% of the seniors are vaccinated. Getting an appointment is a stumbling block. Personally, I think it is better to be as safe as possible than to be as sick as possible.

When I read his posts I start to understand how Christine Lagarde must have felt when Ivanka butted in on a serious conversation.

Interesting that you think that the fact that he served the Obama administration (in Energy) means he was a complete believer in AGW. Obama liked having some opposing views. Koonin is widely respected, and is part of the scientific community. As such, his opinion should be part of the discussion. And, from an article about him in the WSJ: So in other words, he's part of the discussion, and thinks that over-the-top rhetoric by people who are not scientists isn't helping things. He's not just sticking his fingers in his ears and going "ni-ni-ni-ni-ni." Wendy P.

I don’t want any approach. CO2 is a non-problem. (Other than causing the inability to think critically in some folks)

The term institutional racism was first coined in 1967 by Stokely Carmichael and Charles V. Hamilton in Black Power: The Politics of Liberation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institutional_racism https://fpg.unc.edu/sites/fpg.unc.edu/files/resources/other-resources/What Racism Looks Like.pdf

I'm looking forward to the republican outrage machine kicking into top gear on this one. If the next target of the right wing cancel culture is to push for a boycott of wussy liberal plant based beer I will fully support them!

Making fun of bad choices can be funny. Making fun of things that aren’t a choice is bullying. And only toadies or other bullies think bullying is funny. Wendy P.

Mandy at Skydive Dallas was shorter than most of her tandem students. Can't remember her sliding any of them in.

Well, remember that not every TI is taller than their passenger... And when they're shorter, a butt slide may well be less risky than trying to coordinate a standup landing when they're not in control of who reaches the ground first. Wendy P.

Dear Kleggo, The bigger the reserve, the better when you land unconscious. That is why students get 250 square foot reserves.

Not picking on you, but what are the recommendations for an unconscious jumper of any weight? I've been conscious and aware for all my reserve rides (many........., training CReW jumpers has it's hazards), but always size my reserves close to 1:1 in the event I'm just a sack of meat and am not flying it.
