Cowboy Bill is sitting at the bar with a bowl of chili in front of him just staring at it. Cowboy Bob walks in and sits next to him. He looks at Bill staring at the chili and orders a beer. The bartender brings him the beer and cowboy Bill is still staring at the chili. Cowboy Bob says, "Pard, you gonna eat that?" Bill says, "No" and pushes the bowl in front of cowboy Bob. Cowboy Bob starts eating the chili and says to Bill, "Not bad. Has kind of a unique taste." Cowboy Bill gets down to the bottom of the bowl and sees a dead mouse at the bottom and throws up in the bowl. Cowboy Bill says, "That was my reaction."

Somewhat to my surprise, I just received (by snail mail) a response to a FOIA request that I had submitted on 09.18.2020, regarding the "sled test" film. Instead of the standard rejection letter (of which I now have quite a collection), the FBI sent me the five pages below. I believe that the photos are familiar from n467us.com and from Ralph Himmelsbach's book, but I'm not sure that the two cover pages have been released before. The redacted name is presumably Capt. Thomas Spangler. I don't know what to make of the phrase "These will not be used". The five photos have only two variants. I have the impression that the tail number N467US has been drawn by hand on one image, and airbrushed out on another. 720110 164-81-1A p1.pdf 720110 164-81-1A p2.pdf 720110 164-81-1A p3.pdf 720110 164-81-1A p4.pdf 720110 164-81-1A p5.pdf

The latest version of the Canadian Fire Arms Act specifically prohibits Ars built by Armalite plus dozens of "AR-clones" by model name and manufacturer. "AKs" built by Kalashnikov and a dozen other factories are also prohibited. The FAA also prohibits "Mini 14"and dozens of other rifles firing military ammo. It even names a variety of .50 caliber rifles, mortars, flame-throwers and rocket-launchers. The scary part is that the revised FAA was enacted by an "Order in Council." It was never debated in the House of Commons. That is not "the democratic process."

Do you know this drop zone, camera flyer, or the skill standards at the DZ in question? Really good skydivers make really bad mistakes, you know.

Thanks Joe. While I fully agree with you, I disagree with your post being relevant and constructive towards the topic. To put it in an analogy, it's as if someone asks "What's the procedure for handling side-by-side malfunction, land it or cutaway?" and you answer "Check your gear, don't have a side-by-side". Sure, prevention is the best, but lets also talk about situations where prevention fails. Even "bulletproof" skilled folks can fail at some point for whatever reason, there's no such thing as perfect. Lets share knowledge, experience and opinions and learn.
