Agreed. With a requirement that they be standing at the podium talking.

^This. Originally, the person intending to stall the process via filibuster had to actually hold the floor. Continue talking. That takes a lot of work, and holds up everything else the Senate is doing. The rules were changed in 1970, something called the 'two track' system. That allows a filibuster to be 'officially' taking place, holding up a particular piece of legislation, while everything else proceeds normally. I can see the need for some sort of way that the minority can create difficulties for the majority to run rampant over the process. That's part of what the Senate was created for. But it should at least go back to being 'difficult'. If the minority wants to hold up a particular piece of legislation, make them bring everything to a halt. Let them pay that political price.

Since I started living half the year in the Caribbean I can tell you for a fact that in my world the cumulative average annual temperature has more than doubled. So there!

I'm pretty sure this is because of the small market combined with the large potential for getting caught up in the US tort system. Apple could probably whip up an app to take care of it via Bluetooth through your wrist watch in a couple weeks.

If you help start the war, it's a little disingenuous to say it was God's will Wendy P.

Why Lie? Because the moderators have lost interest in your posts out of boredom? I know for many US citizens the world ends at the US borders. But many from outside the US read these posts. Surely your public school education can't be that bad? Your Facebook feeds so filled with disinformation? Below from NOAA "The February 2021 global surface temperature was 1.17°F (0.65°C) above the 20th-century average of 53.9°F (12.1°C). This was the smallest February temperature departure since 2014 and the 16th highest for February in the 142-year record. February 2021 marked the 45th consecutive February and the 434th consecutive month with temperatures, at least nominally, above the 20th-century average. The Northern Hemisphere’s February 2021 temperature departure was the 14th highest for February on record at 1.51°F (0.84°C). This was also the smallest February temperature departure for the Northern Hemisphere since 2014. The Southern Hemisphere’s surface temperature departure from average was 0.81°F (0.45°C) above average — the smallest February temperature departure since 2012 and the 19th-warmest February on record. The most notable warmer-than-average February 2021 temperatures of at least +3.6°F (+2.0°C) were present across eastern Canada, western, central, and southeastern Europe and southern and northeastern Asia. The most notable cool temperature departures from average during February were observed across much of North America, Scandinavia and northern Asia, where temperatures were at least 5.4°F (3.0°C) below average. Other notable cool temperatures were observed across the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean, Australia and parts of the southern oceans. North America had its coldest February since 1994 and the 20th-coldest February in the regional 112-year record. Oceania had its coldest February since 2012. South America and the Caribbean region had a top-10 warm February."

As a newbie this thread is extremely helpful, thanks to the OP and everyone who has responded!! I also appreciated this little "round up" from Chutingstar; https://www.chutingstar.com/blog/aads-which-one-to-buy/ Somewhat surprised that no AADs are made in the USA though... So, they ALL work and here's my priority list as I spent 13 years in Europe in the Air Force; MarS M2 - Best Beer! If you've never had Budvar on tap, you haven't lived! CYPRES - Close runner up, Kutscher Alt is a stand out... Vigil - The Frite (french fry) stands were more of a stand out then the beer! Tim

Had to vote boobies because, well, it’s the USA. I can’t vote yes or no. I think it is good as originally intended but bad as currently practiced, so I can’t go all in one way or the other. I’m for reinstatement of the talking filibuster. I don’t think it was intended to simply be a veto by the minority. Even the name makes it sound as though it was intended to be a difficult but possibly necessary process.

No, but he does know personally that the right approach and information to conservatives can work. It worked on him, it worked on Turtle. And it’s to Biguns credit that he figured that others had open minds too. However, neither of them were as invested in this, they were more interested in actual data. It’s like the religious zealot who sees their own church, and everyone else is a heretic or pagan. Wendy P.

I never said it was very clear or the process had been communicated well. I was refuting your argument that no law exists. It would help if the media did a PSA of informing instead of thrashing the same - doesn't exist message. I sit on several veterans committees and, 1) many of us just learned of this ourselves not long ago and it angered us, and 2) we're working with the VA, DoD and DHS to get the message out in a formal process. For DoD to have formal classes during orientation, for DHS to triple-check before deporting veterans, and for the VA to help ensure the process is completed.
