Looks like a lot of people don't understand the difference between "making good choices" and "having good choices".

What??? A 4 minute video did not cover everything there is to understand about white privilege??? Inconceivable!

"I have a black friend" - I don't have black friends. We call each other, "Brother." "Do Better" You and Jakee are the two that most have deteriorated this forum over the years with your arrogance. You don't read what people wrote, you attack and then pivot. The both of you need professional help.

Lots of white folks might raise their hand when asked if they have a black friend. In reality, they just know a black person.

it's a huge waste of resources that are better spent elsewhere, like actually contributing to safety. maybe to include more plf training, having students do some before each day of jumping like they do in airborne school, and start an awareness program for canopy piloting. things that still killing us would be where i would direct my energies, but i didn't get the job as executive director, so not my call now.

How convenient that progress requires never admitting that anyone who looks like you did anything to create the current situation, and maintaining that all the problems are due to people who look like them.

OAN uses the Russian to English translation software so makes sense.

And what was the cost in European lives, to develop that herd immunity? You'd like that to be paid again today? I hate to break it to you, but you don't own most of the lives that natural herd immunity will cost. It's not your decision whether that price will be paid.

false equivalency, that was what i was looking for when i replied to the video, like this idiot is good at. it fools stupid people, looks like it got you too, and that's why he continues to use it. some of what he says sounds good, i've hear him before, then you dive into it and start seeing how bad he is twisting things for the idiots, and the idiots just keep posting it all over the place, not realizing just how stupid it makes them look.

A few points: - I dont think the USPA has actually said an E license will be defined as 'expert'. I think you're just extrapolating that based on them both being the same letter. - Even if they do call it an expert license, in general the term master is senior to expert. A master is above an expert, so that doesn't really make sense. Maybe they will call it demigod? - Titles aside, what would be the point? What can you do with an E license that you cant do with a D license? - Whatever the answer to that question is, I'd then argue well why was I fine doing it with a D license in 2021 but now in 2022 suddenly I'm not qualified to do it anymore? - Above a B license, the C and D title dont really get you much. I've only ever once jumped at a DZ that requires a C license and there is only one DZ anywhere that I know of that requires a D. Restrictions are more likely to be defined in number of jumps rather than license level. Even the USPA does that. For example, the USPA BSR for WS jumps is 200 jumps. There is no mentioning of a requirement to have a C license though. - Overall I think it will just add to the USPA's pocketbook by finding a reason to charge another license fee, but without the jumpers actually getting anything tangible out of it other than some new title that no one really cares about.

One reason for not running adjacent to existing pipelines is to decrease the chance of loss of delivery from both pipelines if there was some type of catastrophic incident - terrorism, earthquake, explosion, plane crash, etc. I'm much more familiar with the planning and design of electrical transmission lines and that is a major design consideration. A major headache when citing infrastructure is access to land. Few folks are happy regardless of the route. Special interest groups will use any tactic they can to stop the construction. Just look at the Dominion natural gas pipeline that was being built in WV, VA, NC and the upper part of SC. The latest and last roadblock was because of the "sensitive nature of the flora" and crossing the Appalachian trail. It's a normal practice to obtain permits then acquire land and work on other tasks. Construction is usually started before all the tasks are completed. The goal was to bring natural gas to eastern NC and upper SC, and eventually to the coast. A few billion had been spent and the project was terminated due to "legal uncertainty." They spent tons of money on ongoing litigation with the solar and wind advocates. So yes, all kinds of folks are impacted when infrastructure comes rolling along. No good solution when roads and other stuff is needed. I don't know if native American land was more or less impacted by this one as compared to non-Native land. Routing of these big projects is not easy.

I refer back to my earlier example. We need to stop telling women not to wear short dresses. And start teaching men not to rape. We need to stop telling african americans to just work harder. And start reforming laws that allow voter suppression, police brutality, unequal sentencing, tax breaks for the rich, and much much much more. Every creature on the planet struggles and humans are no different. That is true. It has been true historically and it will continue to be true. And it is also true that specific groups of people struggle MORE. And specific groups of people struggle LESS. And this is by design. White men designed the laws that govern America. That is a statement of fact. Those laws have evolved/improved over time but they are still very far from being fair. You can deny it all you want, but your denial doesn't change the truth. EDIT: Sorry to pee on your parade, but America's not that great...

There is no such thing as White privilege, it is a ridiculous idea that ignores reality and at best becomes a crutch, an excuse for failure. The idea is detrimental to all There is economical privilege period. In homogenous countries where they don't have the melting pot that we have in the US, guess what? people with money get treated better then poor people. That's the case now that's always been the case. I am not talking about bribes, Its stuff like being able to afford to live in a better neighborhood, there is generally less stress for everyone including the cops who patrol these neighborhoods compared to the ghetto. Add to that list all the things that wealth can offer and the the fact that having more money generally improves the probability of safety health and success for you and loved ones anywhere on this planet. There are plenty of poor white people with no privilege and plenty of rich minorities who get all the privilege its about $$$ Can we also admit that perception is something we all have and we all when presented with a new human make some prejudgments good and bad? Can we admit the way you talk, look and present yourself matters! or have most of us left reality!? Can you understand why at the airport me a middle eastern male gets randomly selected everytime by the TSA and the little old white grandma who is 78 doesn't....if you can't or have to pretend you cant understand that, know that i do understand and its not racism to me its called common sense. I understand that the biggest representation of brown, tan people like me in the past i don't know lets say 20 years or so is explosions Islam and death. Now i am glad that i live in a country where my rights are preserved and i am viewed equal under law, however it would be disingenuous of me to pretend to not understand why some people who don't know me personally might have some reservations or prejudgments......why do so many pretend not to understand this? However my biggest issue with the term white privilege is that it takes attention away from the actual problems. Like no fathers, no family unit, no values, no discipline! and gives an impression that you can only succeed if your white! which is untrue. Why is it so many immigrants who have come here with less of a foundation then even the poorest Americans, who also have to deal with the same system deal with racism and judgment dig themselves out of poverty? Why is it so many African Americans, Latinos , Asians and other minorities do outstanding in this country and are the picture of success? It's there families and the values they have been taught by them. It starts at home. The only way you can fix any problem is by being honest about the cause, not pandering in a cloak of sympathy thats detrimental to the very people you think you're helping Its been very frustrating watching the dialogue of this country in the past few years, I have read often white people who are coming from a good place make the dumbest statements, like We are such a Racist country!! I always ask them, have you been anywhere else? i don't mean on vacation have you ever lived anywhere else? do you know how people in europe pick any country on the continent feel about certain people? how about Asia? the Middle East? Africa!? you know where they cut your hands off in certain places if your from a different tribe? America is the least racist place on this planet. Work hard make better decisions sacrifice for the greater good of your family and you can have some privilege too.

Plenty of good advice above. May I emphasize the important of good canopy control? First, you need to stand up your landings without injury. Secondly, stand up those landings in the correct field. With practice, your accuracy will improve. Even when clouds prevent you from climbing to 12,000 feet you can still practice canopy skills. Warn the pilot that you are opening high and ask a friend to video your landings. During a lull, ask a local coach to critique video of your landings.

I completely agree. Prisoners are probably the most unpopular and disregarded group in society. Behind even politicians and lawyers. But they are still our brothers and sisters.
