Could be here, or who won the election thread: Oh, Lindsey went down to Georgia, He was looking for some votes to steal. He was in a bind, 'cause Trump was way behind and he was willing to make a deal.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but some opinions are wrong and deserving of ridicule.

Here is a link from the Secretary of State of Arizona. They performed a hand count of a sample of the votes in 10 of the 15 counties. The other 5 didn't have representatives designated by the local parties to participate, as is required by Arizona law. In all 10 cases, either the hand recount found no discrepancies or the discrepancies were within acceptable margins. Note that Maricopa County, far and away the largest, showed no discrepancies. The largest of the 5 counties that participated is Yuma County; of those 5, 4 of them went for Trump, and the fifth has a total population smaller than the margin. I'm sure there are people who are saying that the entire vote for counties that use Dominion should just be thrown out and those people disenfranchised. There are also people who deny that Hitler killed any Jews, that the Civil War included slavery as a cause, and that there is no Santa Claus. The United States' DHS has indicated that Dominion is no better or worse than any other voting machine system. You're a good example of guilty-until-proven-innocent, and probably-innocent-if-he's-my friend, thinking. I would not want you on any jury, ever. Wendy P.

It will never work. Everyone knows right wing racists don't think. They are safe.

Hardly a playground in here...but I see what you did. Quiet...yes. Hoping Trump transitions power nicely...yes.

But of course it’s just the facts when “you don’t lose your girlfriend you just lose your turn.” Give me a fucking break. It’s male-dominated. It has been since I started in the mid-1970’s. It’s only because I came off as standoffish and intimidating when I was a young blond jumper (so I’m told) that I’ve only had 3-4 unwelcome advances. Unwelcome as in they really tried social pressure; not physical. But I know people that’s happened to also And everything Bill said, too. I used to jump at a southern DZ where all the conservatives could talk loudly about politics; the liberals were expected to keep quiet Wendy P.

Here's Charlton Heston bragging about getting Ice-T fired from a record label because he didn't like the lyrics to one of his songs. In the grand tradition of rank right wing hypocrisy it does not surprise me one bit that you idolise someone who is not only a PC warrior themselves, but was a cancel culture leader decades before it was trendy.

That's been the rallying cry of segregationists throughout history. "Women don't WANT to be CEO's or VP's. Why should we bend over backwards to get them into positions they don't want in the first place?" If there are no black people or women or gay people at your company/DZO/school - it's probably not them driving that.

I struggle with this subject, and I have a lot of conflicting viewpoints. I think that the government and higher education institutions are largely to blame for the huge increase in the cost of a college degree relative to inflation. Where is the pound of flesh from these universities and colleges that enriched themselves and their staff offering degrees with low return on investment that came with ever increasing tuition bills. What about the lending industry that was protected by the fact that student loans aren't dischargeable. I also think that the US society at large has responsibility for this blind promotion of college. There are a lot of dumbass boomer and gen x parents out there that pushed their kids to go on a college path with zero plan, backed up by their kids high school guidance counselors. These kids were following the plan laid out for them, and were stuck paying grossly inflated tuition that others used to make a tidy profit from. From a personal responsibility stand-point it does chap my ass. I have paid off all of my college debt, almost 50k, that I incurred earning my BS in accounting. Do I get a rebate? I think any forgiveness plan needs to be paired with a complete overhaul of the system in general because right now it is nothing short of another tax payer funded ponzi scheme.

I always jump with gloves, too. Same reasons as Councilman, with the addition that I had a friend whose ring finger was degloved when she caught it on a floating exit on a Twin Beech (or maybe a DC3). This was before the days of float bars on airplanes, but it still brought home the fact that in a finger-vs-anything fight, the finger loses, so why not protect it. I always wore them when motorcyling, too, for the same reason. Wendy P.

I wear gloves on every jump. I started when I was throwing static line students in the 80's. Even though the static lines were attached to the airplane I pulled most of them by hand. Gave me control and allowed me to short line them if needed. After I busted my knuckles on the door frame a couple of times I started wearing gloves. I went though a few different ones and sometime in the 90's settled on these. The fit snug, are sticky to give positive grip on handles and grippers, protect your hands from bumps on handles, doors and landings. These gloves also come in a winter thicker version. If really cold I add silk liners. While latex or vinyl gloves give wind protection silk wicks sweat away from your hands. I find any gloves labeled skydiving gloves are less durable and thinner than the receiver gloves. Usually more like golf gloves. I think I'm on my third pair in about 2000 jumps. I consider gloves a safety device, especially in cold weather. I posted this link not to suggest buying them from amazon. Unless you've bought a lot of gloves you should try them on. Again at many sporting goods stores. There are other brands but I prefer these particular ones. Even the few times I jump without a jumpsuit I usually put on my gloves. They stay with my helmet, googles, altimeter. https://www.amazon.com/Neumann-Tackified-All-Sport-Gloves/dp/B01B6XOSKM

Get some skydiving gloves at your local gear store. They are the right tool for the sport and that will be one less thing to have to think about. Later as you get more experience you can try other types. Keep it simple.
