The weird thing is I don't think that would be a lot better. I just want these people to do their jobs properly - governing for the American people rather than their particular party or ideology.

Sometimes the mistakes of ones friends or associates are understandable, while the exact same mistakes (or even more neutral actions) from ones enemy or “other” are stupid and unconscionable. Moving goalposts, mote in someone else’s eye, whatever. No one is immune to that, but if you’re raised with a reliance on your own judgment, and with a feeling that questioning yourself is a sign of weakness, then i think it happens more easily. Electric aircraft can also have something like regenerative braking for cars, and recover some energy on the descent, reducing the recharge needed between lifts and reducing total fuel cost even further.
