That is terrifying for a bunch of reasons. I actually had a nightmare about it last night. I suddenly found myself at Sturgis with Jennifer Aniston in a stairwell packed with a bunch of bikers. And I said wait a minute, this can't be right, what about covid, what about social distancing, we have to get out of here - but Jennifer Aniston mocked me and insisted on staying so I just left her, and then I woke up in a cold sweat.

Good times! This photo was taken at California City in 1982 above the Mohave Desert. My Security Crossbow had a PC MK IV main and a 26' navy Conical reserve. The MLW was too long and the 65 pound ill-fitting rig would often flop around putting me on my back. I eventually upgraded (??) to a Handbury rig with an XL Cloud. (LOL)

The man wants to protect his family. Despite your feeling that skydiving is not a significant risk, the reason many life insurance policies exclude it is that they employ very expensive actuaries who know that statistically speaking, you are wrong.

USPA has not granted age waivers to drop zones. They are granted to individuals who are then welcome to jump anywhere they like without being in violation of BSR's.

I’d agree there. Highly disingenuous to suggest that containing Ebola is the same as containing COVID, and the US did make a lot of the same mistakes with Ebola as they have with COVID. The more salient point is that a lot of effort was then put into learning what went wrong and how to fix it before Trump came along and dismantled all of the solutions, guaranteeing that the same mistakes would be made when they really didn’t have to be.

All I heard was Biden saying that he is not taking any of that shit. He did stumble on some words, but he spoke better and clearer than I have heard him in the past. Cocaine is a large part of the zeitgeist, as I'm sure you know. Because no one is perfect. The stakes are high, and anyone running will find opposition hammering away at any mistakes or missteps they have ever made. Joe Biden has lived a long life with plenty of events in it. Just who meets your standards? I think Barack Obama probably is the most "worthy" POTUS of my lifetime. It's pretty hard to find many personal flaws in him.

The EPA creates laws. Laws, by design, subjugate people. Laws against drunk driving remove your rights and subjugate you to the rule of law. Laws against murder remove your rights and subjugate you to the rule of law. Laws against pollution remove your rights and subjugate you to the rule of law. As we have learned more about the environment, EPA laws have gotten tougher. We now know that breathing lead is bad for you; hence laws requiring unleaded gas. We now know that breathing mercury is bad for you; hence the laws requiring emissions limits for coal power plants. These laws come directly from the Constitution, which tasks Congress to provide for the general welfare of the people of the United States. In the future, as we learn more about chemistry, biology and public health, those laws will change again and get more restrictive. There will always be a tradeoff between what is achievable via BACT (best available commercial technology) what is affordable and what gets the most good for the most people. There will be people on both sides of the argument, as there should be - and compromises will be made. But those compromises will absolutely result in laws that subjugate people. (To use your language.)

I suspect that, behind the facade of "caring" for the "pre-born", the real reason for Republican devotion to the "pro-life" mantra is a desire to use pregnancy as a means to exert control over women who dare to challenge their perception of the "right" (as in "correct") way to live. Don
