i usually start walking with groups of folks when they are marching like that. i have supported pride, blm, the wv teachers strike, and a whole host of other things, and at least one which i wasn't even sure why they were walking but they were a friendly group.

It's a simple solution really. Name all the bases and put up statues in honor of those 3,520 Medal of Honor recipients. Of those, 90 of the MoH's went to 89 African-Americans (Sweeney was awarded twice). Who's gonna take exception to an MoH recipient.

My apartment is cluttered with 40 years worth of old parachutes, old manuals, etc. Which museum should I donate then to? Last summer I visited the Canadian War Museum and the Aviation museum at Rockcliffe. More recently, I visited the small museum of aviation in Langley, B.C. I used to jump near the aviation museum in Victoria, B.C. (Pat Bay / Victoria International Airport). Please note that I am a Canadian citizen, living in Canada, who would prefer to donate to a Canadian museum.

You mean you won't post anything about it, then later attack a democrat who is buried in a gold coffin? While saying "I had the same reaction to Trump's coffin?"

A hundred times on all that advice. I think the PLF is seriously undertaught and underused. Yes, if you're screaming in on a swoop it might not help you. But a lot of bad landings involve something besides too much forward speed, and a good PLF will help in the vast majority. And it won't hurt in most forward speed scenarios, either. Wendy P.

In the comments section of the article linked earlier, a reader suggested "Gold Star Base." Honors those who died and those who lost.

That's a good idea. A great idea might be to name a few after Gold Star mothers.

Don't believe the polls. Assume it's neck and neck and your vote could tip the proverbial scales.

I am not a fan of this one either. IMO, the U.S. Flag should be honored and displayed properly. It took me a long time to accept subdued flags on military uniforms.

Anybody else remember how the right wing folk lost their shit over the "Jade Helm" exercises during the Obama administration? Where are they now?

Learn to PLF. Practice it a lot. Get good at it. I never cease to be amazed how hard of a landing I can walk away from with a proper PLF. Get a big canopy. Far more forgiving. Spend some time with an instructor or a good canopy pilot watching other people land. Discuss what they are doing right and wrong. Get a good idea of what the various heights look like. A flight of steps or a ladder can put you at the proper height to begin a flare. Get that 'picture' clear in your head. Maybe do a tandem or two, with an instructor who is willing to work with you on the flare 'picture' and timing. Don't forget to have fun.

And 18,000 different sets of policies for interacting with the public. A couple years ago I either read (or heard) of an idea being promoted to have the states absorb all county and city PD's into the state PD. Advantages: 1. Consistent training for all LEO's in the state. 2. Consistent policing policies across the state. 3. Economies of scale in procuring uniforms/equipment/vehicles. 4. Removal of law enforcement from county/city budgets, AND removal of the incentive for tiny towns along major highways to become speed traps to operate their town on ticket revenue (aka "Random Motorist Tax").

NASCAR STATEMENT June 10, 2020 at 4:45 PM “The presence of the confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry. Bringing people together around a love for racing and the community that it creates is what makes our fans and sport special. The display of the confederate flag will be prohibited from all NASCAR events and properties.”

Yep. It's also good news that some Southern cities have started removing Confederate statues and some of the mayors responsible are finally countering the asinine argument that they need to stay up to 'preserve the history' of the civil war. Statues aren't about preserving history, they're about celebrating the roles of the people depicted. Like, no-one ever claimed the War of Independence was in danger of being forgotten because there isn't a statue of George III in front of the Capitol.

More good news: https://www.military.com/daily-news/2020/02/26/top-marine-orders-confederate-paraphernalia-be-removed-all-bases.html About time the "loser flag" and other symbols of treason, racism and slavery were removed. "As states continue to grapple with the passionate debate over whether to display statues and other tributes to Confederate leaders, Marines have been told the materials won't be tolerated on any of the Corps' installations. "Commandant Gen. David Berger last week instructed top Marine leaders to remove Confederate-related paraphernalia from the service's bases worldwide. The directive is one of several forward-leaning initiatives Berger said he is "prioritizing for immediate execution."

Those two are mutually exclusive. You can rebel against the country or support it. You don't get to do both. Not at all surprised you don't get that.

It’s good news. Personally, I feel conflicted. I seriously don’t want Trump re elected, but I don’t want the unemployed hurt any more than they already are. Wendy P.

Heh :) We are going to make logging your jumps more fancy than traditional paper log book :) One way - is recording all data like exit altitude, deploy altitude, etc automatically using your phone. Other way - to import data from you digital altimeter. That's why we need raw data from different altimeters.
