Anyone who compares a Havok to a performance suit clearly has absolutely no experience with acro flying.

The rule of law will be applied. Maybe or maybe not to those who are threatening your property, but if you shoot them, it will almost certainly be applied to you. If you are legitimately in fear for your life (or great bodily harm), then use of deadly force may be legal. But if you think it will be simple, or cheap, think again. AggieDave once posted that a 'no bill' (Grand Jury declines to indict) self defense killing, the defendant averages $20k in legal expenses. That's in line with everything I was taught. Keep in mind that I'm pretty strongly in favor of gun rights and self defense. I'm just a realist about the consequences of using deadly force to defend one's self. Glib comments about shooting looters rarely take into account the intricacies and complexites of the laws. Nor do they even begin to consider the aftermath & consequences. Laws vary from state to state. Florida has shown itself to be well off the norm for use of deadly force for civilian self defense. In any other state, George Zimmerman would almost certainly have been convicted of voluntary manslaughter. I didn't know what the difference between looting and burglary was. So I looked it up. A quick search found this: https://santaclaritafree.com/gazette/police-blotter/the-difference-between-burglary-and-looting Both burglary & looting can be either a felony or misdemeanor. Depends on a bunch of things.

Let's not forget that HRC testified under oath fo 11 hours and was investigated by the FBI and by 8 congressional committees led by the GOP. Since no wrongdoing, including lying to congress, was found, I'd say HRC has far far more credibility than, say Trump, Breitbart, Fox News, Hannity, and Limbaugh combined.

Hey this looks like fun and I got my popcorn so why not? I detest the imposter in chief. But. The protests are not his fault. Is he handling it well? Fuck no. Is he inciting violence with his Twitter rants? Fuck yes. But this tension has a looooong history behind it. TrumptyDumpty or not, this whole thing does not surprise me. It's been over 50 years since the Watts riots. And they were protesting what? Stonewall. Protesting what? Suffragettes. Protesting what? Protesting sanctioned violence against their communities by the police (ie the government). No, it's not Trumpy Dumpty's fault. He and his ilk are just making it worse. If he would just STFU and stop fanning the flames. Just watched video of LAPD handcuffing the black owners of a business who called the cops to catch looters. And I understand. It is far more important to detain law abiding small business owners trying to protect their business than to catch the looters who were still only a block or two away. A 10 year old girl got gassed by a police officer. People are being run over by police cars. Cops are ignoring the looters so they can beat up peaceful protesters. Cant even sit on your own porch on your own property without them coming by and shooting your ass if you dont react instantly to them telling you that you can't do that. The National Guard has been deployed in Sacramento. Last night there was a protest that they were at. The protest was peaceful. It dispersed as planned, prior to the curfew. Perhaps that is the answer. Pull out the cops so they don't continue to fan the flames with brutality (wait, what are the protests about?) and replace them with National Guard units, who aren't part of the problem. I'm just glad I live in the boonies...

Sadly it will probably take a lot more than a memo to make that happen.

If 8 separate GOP investigations could not determine what you think is clearly so obvious, they aren't very smart. The people voting for them must be even dumber.

I believe there is something about "looting during a state of emergency" also. Either way like Joe says you open up a whole legal shitstorm shooting anyone justified or not.
  10. 1 point
Common sense doesn't really prevail in these days, though, does it? They called it in after they left to loot something easier.
  11. 1 point
I don't think that's accurate. I am of the "It's abhorrent that anyone was killed because of an asshole cop." variety. Then I'm of the "It is abhorrent that there is still a divide between races, and the peaceful protests are hopefully going to do some good." variety. Then I'm of the, "If you try to hurt my family, or destroy my business, and what I have worked for, I will defend it to the very last." Variety.

that depends on where you are. Some states allow deadly force to prevent forcible felonies which includes burglary

You have been ignoring your law enforcement murdering unarmed black people for decades.

Zero to trash talking in one full season of jumping!

Because you are angry and frightened, like black men are frightened every day. They also are worried about violence being done. But not to property. Real violence.

So what? My point stands and is proven that the people they fooled into believing it was a white power symbol includes white supremacists, who went on to use it without irony as a white power symbol. My point aso stands that it wouldn't matter if he was using it as a joke white power symbol or a real white power symbol for it to be a bad thing to do.

Not sure what the OP is complaining about. Yes, they sound a bit unprofessional. My only confusion is over no response to the transiting private airplane. Were both jump planes shut down when he flew over? The scary, un-professional, dangerous thing is when cross-country airplanes fly directly over a DZ without listening to the local radio frequency.

Some ejection seats use tear-strip bridles to even out surges in opening sequences. Tear-strips function the same way as the cotton break-cord used to stage openings on military static-line mains. Lazy skydivers switched to Velcro, then rubber bands, than sili-stows, then tuck tabs, then magnets, then ... quick! invent another gadget ....! Once airspeeds exceed 200 knots, even the slightest pause in opening shock is quickly followed by a massively harder load surge as different components struggle to match speeds. Those surges tear parachutes and pilots. The simplest tear-strips involve a piece of (full strength) webbing folded over on itself and zig-zag sewn with E-thread. Tearing E-thread is more consistent than the rubber bands suggested above. Since the E-thread consistently fails at 8.5 pounds, it is easy to calculate when it will tear. The problem is protecting that tear-strip until it is needed. Protection is easy inside a sealed ejection seat or reserve container, but more difficult on main risers that are expose during every jump. Perhaps you add a tear-strip just below the 3-Rings and protect it with a fabric cover. ???? Mind you, the most painful openings tend to force all the opening shock onto one side of the harness. This challenge requires a brighter mind than mine.

I listened to the first 4 or 5 minutes. What is the complaint here? Clearly communicating all necessary information, clear jumpers away, providing updates about the location of parachutes in the air. Should he be more robotic, or is he missing a mandatory stick in his ass or something? I wouldn't mind hearing this on the radio, sounds like a good time.

Pray? IF god is real then he should protect you all, unless of course it’s part of his divine plan to have you massacred? My parents were missionaries and they certainly gave god the glory for all the massacres in Africa where we were as part of the divine plan. They didn’t pick up guns in church to stop it. Alternatively stop preaching a message of hatred and division and live by Christ’s true message. That said you live in a violent society. I don’t know the roots of why the USA is so broken. Hatred and fear seem prevalent in the USA compared to virtually any other place I have either lived or visited. Your TV is saturated with violent movies and shows. I’ve always found it ironic how close you in the Southern states are to the people of Iran and the Middle East.

Interesting how when cops murder unarmed black people, it is a few bad apples. We cannot allow a few bad apples to sour the great work law enforcement does. However, with the shoe on the other foot, you quickly nullify any validity of a protest. Shows the inequality they are talking about nicely, doesn't it.

Allah Akbar. I will be blatantly honest. I’m disgusted by your hypocrisy, you go against everything that Jesus taught and you don’t even have the back bone to stick to your own faith. ‘in God we trust’ is a total joke to you, you don’t trust god. You run around like frightened little rats with your weapons and pretend militias. You are quite literally no different to the taliban

Isn't it good to be able to think that the President is smarter than I am? But I don't think he's smarter than all of the people who will vote for him (which your lack of qualifiers implies); if nothing else, there isn't a single standard for intelligence. Too many facets. It's kind of like being the "most qualified" for a complex job Wendy P.
