Then responsibility for global air pollution lies with England because they started the commercial burning of coal. Responsibility for the Cold War and nuclear escalation lies with the US because we got the first bomb. What good does blaming China do? Wendy P.

If she had declared herself a wartime president, then spent her press briefings on talking about her TV ratings. Yes. If the pandemic is ongoing and his lack of action or his lack of taking any responsibility leads to deaths, yes. Have you ever been a leader in any capacity? Have you ever had to take responsibility for the actions of a team of people you are responsible for? Or have you always just pointed at other people?

I don't blame Trump for the coronavirus. But I blame him for the incompetent way he dealt with it. See the difference?

The difference in SK was they used a smart approach regarding contact tracing and testing. They took it very seriously from the start and contained it before it got out of control. They also gave incredible support to those that were affected to make sure they reduced the spread when infections were detected. To give you an idea, here is my own personal post from back in February: "One of my cousins works for the province government that contains Seoul & the surrounding suburbs. She was exposed to the virus by a co-worker. She went immediately went into self-isolation, along with her entire building and their families...about 500 people in all. That same evening, she received boxes from the city's response team. Medical supplies, including instructions, biohazard bags, thermometer, gloves, masks, sanitizer, etc and another box of dry goods to minimize having to shop. She is called twice a day by a nurse to register her temperature and any symptoms. Boxes came every 5 days for nearly 3 weeks."

Not necessarily targeting you. That most people wear masks to protect others instead of themselves is something that I find very hard to believe I've posted my stance on facemasks several times. But I (perhaps naively) was thinking that social distancing was being observed everywhere. I've since discovered otherwise. In your example: If you stand far enough away the guy can't pee on you so it is irrelevant if you are wearing pants (until the cops show up). When social distancing is not being observed, masks do help - but only if worn correctly and if they properly fit the form of your face. The fact that so many professional masks are basically being wasted by improper use while there are so many health care workers who have to do without is just something I still can't get my head around.

This is a comment from an article on avweb.com about passengers required to wear face masks. It may not be all that safe to wear a mask at altitude in an aircraft. "Using a mask (especially the N95 ones) require breathing in a lot more CO2 than you would be normally without the mask." https://www.avweb.com/aviation-news/jetblue-to-require-passenger-face-masks/#comment-6318 Matt W. April 28, 2020 at 7:10 pm Not sure about any filters, but the pressurized planes I have flown have outflow valves located in the aft part of plane. Cabin air is replaced many times per minute when in flight. Not familiar with Boeing or Airbus pressurization systems. Per my company’s procedure I was wearing a mask when my charter passengers showed and during loading of baggage. Now I am far from being in top physical shape so after loading several typical charter passenger bags I felt a little “light” headed and took mask off and waited to catch my breath. Using a mask (especially the N95 ones) require breathing in a lot more CO2 than you would be normally without the mask. I found out on Google that this is a training method some athletes use to simulate a higher altitude for their competitions, giving them an edge in any competitions they participate in. Not trying to be offensive to any flight attendant, I have seen my share of those flight attendants (male or female) who are in just the same physical condition as myself or worse. Imagine one loading several passenger carryons then passing out from lack of O2 due to the mask. How about using a mask at cruise altitude (most airliner cabin altitudes are from 6000 to 8000 ft). The effects of higher altitude will magnify any hypoxia effects along with anyone who smokes. How fast can you take the mask off so you can put on supplemental O2 in a pressurization failure? This possible emergency was discussed at my company and procedure is once in the cockpit the mask comes off, period. With the FAA emphasis on pilots not having a beard when flying pressurized airplanes kind of makes me think the SAFO referred in this article is a cop out. Why does the FAA just come out and say without proper training wearing any face covering is not safe for flight crews? These same issues have been discussed at the 2 drop zones that I fly jumpers at. I will not fly skydivers if they wear any mask covering their faces during the climb to altitude. Sorry about the long response but there has not been anyone thinking about the issues that come up with N95 mask use in airplane cabins whether pressurized or not.

A "little" late, but I wanted to provide some insights for everyone, to learn / improve nonetheless. The mentioned hesitation did not leat to a fatality, I am still alive and came out of it with just some bruises... After opening I recognized a flip-through malfunction, which was caused by myself due to packing directly on a field after an outside landing the jump before. In hindsight, I could have most likely landed it without issues, but in that moment decided otherwise as the canopy above me was not "good". As practised, I grabbed both handles with one hand. I pulled my right hand until full arm extension and tried to pull my reserve handle after that but I was unable to pull the handle at all, it did not move even a little. I turned my head to the left and saw my main still attached by something and my reserve pilot chute being out. My first thought was, that it might be that I did not pull the cutaway cable all the way, so I cleared the cutaway cable from the housing completely. But I was still hanging from my main by something I could not identify in that moment. I instinctively grabbed that thing from what I was hanging, tried to pull up and just before I wanted to pull on my reserve bridle to get my reserve out, the hangup cleared. I saw and recognized that I was no longer attached to my main but due to my body orientation and possibly low speed, my reserve could not be extracted. I turned back to my belly and waited for the reserve to come out, which it thankfully did after a moment. Basically my reserve cable and pin was not able to pass the RSL ring to which the extension cord was attached. It looks like the edge of the pin got stuck at the back of the knot of the extension cord and due to the tension locked there. So I was still connected to my main by my reserve cable and RSL. I just grabbed whatever I was hanging from and thankfully the pin cleared the ring possibly due to me grabbing the pin or releasing some tension. Trying to find the root-cause for this incident myself, I also tried misrouting the reserve-cable through the knot, but this does not happen easily. You have to put way more effort in misrouting it, than in doing it the right way. In the end, Sunrise Manufacturing issued this service bulletin for it.
