Maybe because it works for the diseases they have, like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and malaria - none of which are caused by viruses.

Even without meeting her, I'm sure she'd be an improvement.

Cosmic: Buyer beware of the age of the National seat pack. Service life is 20 years, Most riggers will not pack beyond.

I'm finding out that I'm not quite as nice of a person as I'd like to think. I'm perfectly fine with those idiot preachers calling their congregations in to mass. If those fools think that "Jesus will protect them" or 'the whole thing is a hoax', great. Let them infect each other, get lots of people sick all at once, overwhelm the health care system and die. The downside is that many of those morons are rich and influential enough that they will get care, displacing poor and minority patients who didn't do stupid shit like gather in large groups.

Depression is a medical problem; psychiatrists are medical doctors. So it all works out. No, depression is not "normal." The deplorable attitude that (for example) losing your family to illness, and then entering a depression, is normal and can be resolved by simply getting over "life's little miseries" leads to a lot of serious problems (including suicide.) It is one of the reasons that we have the sort of mental health problems in this country that we do.

We remember a time when the President gave a speech from the oval office, let his press secretary handle the press and his communications director do their job - so he could do his. EDIT: Or a time when the media had no bias left or right. I blame Woodward & Bernstein for creating Rivera. :)

Well, a lot of them probably disagree with some of what he says (there are a lot of conservatives who wish the president would stop tweeting), but they don't dare say it in public, because it's disloyal. And, well, just look at some of the piling on that goes on here, by either "side," when someone makes some statements. And this isn't nearly as dog-eat-dog a world as plenty of others, either online or IRL. There are people who think he's a unicorn, and even his farts are rainbows, but plenty just think he was better than the other choice at the time, (we might disagree on that), and that the country is doing OK. Not perfect, but it wasn't perfect before, either. Every family has an Uncle Lenny who's weird, doesn't comb his hair, or an Aunt Edna who dresses funny. Or either that guy who went to jail for (whatever). And if you don't know who that is in your family, they might be looking back at you in the mirror, skydiver-person! Wendy P.

This is callous, but in all seriousness I do think there is a point where you balance economic catastrophe with death. In everyday life decisions are made that trade the cost of life, with the benefit of convenience. Imagine if all car travel was limited to 20MPH and you couldn’t buy anything faster? Road fatalities would go way down. Might be a silly and extreme example. There will become a point where governments need to decide when to lift restrictions and it will be before many medical professionals agree with them. From what I’ve seen Trump is dreaming though! Let’s just hope the experts make the best trade off for all of us

You have convinced me. I have notified the Dutch government and they will issue the measures you mandate as soon as possible.

Smartest move by media that I've seen in a while. Washington State Radio announced this today: "We will not be airing the [White Houe} briefings live due to a pattern of false or misleading information provided that cannot be fact checked in real time." If other stations follow suit, the amount of misinformation out there could go down quite a bit.

Bullshit. He was trying to pretend it wasn't serious so his stock portfolio wouldn't tank. And, of course, after it became apparent that it was serious, he claimed he 'knew it was a pandemic before anyone else'. He wasn't trying to calm the public, he was thinking only of himself and his image. As always. If he was 'trying to calm the public' (or even thinking of anyone but himself) why didn't he take the question asked 'what would you say to a scared public?' (paraphrased). He didn't say something vanilla and calming, like Pence did later. He called the person who asked the question "Nasty". If he had said how serious it was and how serious it needed to be taken from the beginning, we could have done similar to South Korea (not as much testing, we didn't have the tests). And if we had taken it seriously to begin with, it probably wouldn't be as bad as it it. Again, I fail to see how anyone can continue to support or defend this buffon.

And Trump, after being briefed on how bad it is, downplaying it in January, February, and early March, wasn't willful?

Everyone, The reality is that, except for lap dances at your favorite strip club, few businesses press their customers together as we do. This is no time to pretend that we know better or are different. Nor is it a time to believe this will be over in two weeks. We'll still be Skydivers a month or two months from now. Let's all just stay chill, not press the issue or our DZO's and find another muse for a couple of months. That's being smart.

21 skydivers participated in Joe's ash dive yesterday at sunset at Z-Hills, organized by Scotty Carbone. The jump took place at sunset with friends and family. Dano

Good bye for now, Joe... Forever Blue Skies. My dad (Don Humphries) jumped with Joe in the '60s and '70s. Looking at the photos and the video brought back memories from my childhood... Bob Skinner and other names mentioned just brought things ever more clear and reminded me of the good ol' days in Lakeside. I was only 4 years old when my dad started jumping... But now I jump with my kids and my brother Greg. Joe Faulk is a name burned into my brain from childhood and a skydiver who will NEVER be forgotten... Thanks for the awesome memorial video. Good bye for now, Joe... Forever Blue Skies
